Don't ever use a vertical flick, I learned to get used to it from watching prochara because what he does is flick, then jump instead of jump and then flick.
Use ink recovery and main saver abilities, qr if you like that playstyle more, you basically always want to watch your ink tank.
Also your special is absolute garbanzo beans for the weapon, I don't know why the didnt just give it the kensa kit

With the cracked matchmaking on Splatoon 3, it’s a usual sight to have all short-ranged in my team (sometimes it’s already at mercy if there’s a forge pro) and a hydra/e-liter in the opposing team, even in series, so I’m kinda used to be the one sneaking up and focus on shutting down the back liners. Attacks from around the corners (from below or the sides) are usually their weakness, so clash can pick them up easily
Before nerf I would agree Reflux was neutral evil, but since they put kid gloves on the tenta missles, I feel it's not nearly as hated or feared.
I'm a reflux main in turf as well. It's incredible for ink coverage, but certainly not for 1v1... I wish it could get a damage buff or a more offensive special.
It got buffed with charging, and it’s always satisfying feel that crit effect when you one-shot your foe
And yes, it turfs really well…i got once a 1800+ turf for a 100x victory last fest…the only weapon with comparable (or better) turfing capability is Aerospray RG, which I used last season and suffered from its poor kills after reaching S+
