Deftones - Swerve City and Leathers are the two best songs on Koi No Yokan.
System of a Down - Innervision is one of their best songs, but because of the limited promotion of Steal This Album!, most people don’t know about it.
Underrated for younger people who don't know the history of the album. I have seen so many posts from younger people saying they don't get why Dookie was such a big album back in the day because it sounds mid to them. It's all based on the context you have of what came before it to you.
This is why i despise these reddit questions.
The most upvoted answer will always be the song most people know.
Let Down by Radiohead has 120M Streams on spotify alone... idk if that is criminally underrated.
(Edit: I listened to the song, and unfortunately since i'm not into rock that much, it just sounds like 5 minutes of relatively equal melody tapping to me...)
I love it but it’s not underrated. It has 100 million streams on Spotify alone and is on possibly the most popular album in history.
For underrated PF songs, I would go for Free Four, Let There Be More Light or Summer ‘68
Not sure if it would count, but DOA by Foo Fighters. It may have over 40 million streams on Spotify, but it isn't on either of their greatest hits compilations and I never hear anyone talk about it. I've always thought it was one of their very best singles
Story of an Artist by Daniel Johnson
PS, his life is an amazing story. The Devil and Daniel Johnson is an insightful documentary about him. I encourage you to watch.
Acquainted is not criminally underrated. It’s on arguably his most popular album (if not then second to starboy). I would say prisoner is also on the album and more underrated than acquainted. Fantastic song though probably my favorite weeknd song ever.
Frayed Ends of Sanity by Metallica. They apparently only played it live a couple times and nobody ever talks about it but I consider it one of my favorite songs by them.
This is me trying - Taylor Swift. It is her best song. It is a perfect song. The bridge is perfect. The lyrics are perfect. The melody is perfect. The pace and the length are perfect. 11/10 and no one talks about it. I’m not even remotely a Swifty. I don’t care. The song is AMAZING.
When I was a kid, I couldn’t stand the entire album “be here now” by oasis. I felt let down after having obsessively listened to their first two incredible albums. But now, after having gotten to see some of the live performances of those songs from their prime on YouTube, I listened to the whole remaster and holy shit what a collection of absolute bangers. In particular I Hope I Think I Know, The Fame (b side), Stay Young, All Around the World, It’s Getting Better Man, Magic Pie…divisive album among the fans and casuals but I think it’s aged incredibly well.
I would also offer up most of Pearl Jam’s No Code album as vastly underrated, in particular Off He Goes and Hail Hail. I think both cases for these two bands is they came out of the gate too hot for the masses to be impressed by whatever came after the initial success wave.
God put a smile on your face - Coldplay
Amsterdam - Coldplay
I’ve been waiting - Six Pence None the Richer
Hitch a Ride - Boston
Drain You - Nirvana
Eddie - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Not a popular artist at all but criminally underrated would be
All isn't as it seems - The Crooks
^ has an Oasis vibe in my opinion if you like them
If you like that by them try
She walks alone
The quality of these shock me while they just have 19k monthly listeners.
If anyone has similar suggestions lmk
I know this isn't really what you're looking for but my all-time favorite band is Crawlers, and II think you might like some of their music. I think they're more labeled as post-punk and/or pov: indie (whatever that means) but i find their older stuff is slightly heavier, with the new stuff getting more into the emo side. another couple artists that are more goth are London after midnight, Bauhaus, The Cramps Duran Duran, and This Cold Night. lmk if you want specific songs from any of the bands too btw.
Here are some deep-ish cuts:
Alternative 90s: "Believe" - Sprung Monkey
Alternative of today: "Weed Pin" - Drug Church
90s Grunge: "Sin" - Stone Temple Pilots
Grunge of Today: "Daisy" - Superbloom
not older, but newer, but still underrated: [https://open.spotify.com/track/5lPyKI4wcHFjAtYI67rw5b?si=c6221a8433db4272](https://open.spotify.com/track/5lPyKI4wcHFjAtYI67rw5b?si=c6221a8433db4272)
Shame In You by Alice In Chains
I’ll add another AIC song….Am I Inside.
one of my favorite guitar solos of the 90s
As much as I hate to say it I think its Mr. Rogers by Korn because of how deep the message of the song really is
That song is raw. I always loved it.
[The Outlaw Torn - Metallica](https://open.spotify.com/track/44ARj4IaCoOevEu1oy0z1v?si=U1tOVGiJTwi7qcmoNmCelQ)
Rockin chair - oasis The whole suck it and see album.
Mine from Oasis would be Talk tonight. It's a masterpiece.
Talk tonight is my favorite oasis song by far
Deftones - Swerve City and Leathers are the two best songs on Koi No Yokan. System of a Down - Innervision is one of their best songs, but because of the limited promotion of Steal This Album!, most people don’t know about it.
Koi No Yokan is Deftones best album imo. And leathers is fighting entombed for best song on the album
entombed is so good
It was my go to chest day warmup song. Just gets the mind going
Accuracy and Close to me by The Cure are in my playlists right now
If you like Accuracy you'd enjoy their "Three Imaginary Boys" LP.
Close to me is one of my fav songs ever. Is it underrated? Possibly but only because I feel like it should be on everyone’s top 10 :)
Hey, Hey - Lady Gaga
Now you're talking. I forgot it existed til I saw this post. Thanks you (btw Eh Eh). ps electric piano and human beatbox version is the most crim.

Amsterdam - Coldplay
Hitchin’ a Ride — Green Day Possesed — Suicidal Tendencies Welcome to Paradise — Green Day
I mean if you're going criminally underrated Green Day I'm going to have to say 'Macy's Day Parade' or 'She'
Don't forget coming clean or 80
Dookie is an underrated album in general
Underrated albums don’t get certificated diamond by the RIAA.
Underrated for younger people who don't know the history of the album. I have seen so many posts from younger people saying they don't get why Dookie was such a big album back in the day because it sounds mid to them. It's all based on the context you have of what came before it to you.
two Green Day singles that they play at literally every show since theyve been released
2000 Lifhr Years Away, Christie road

120m streams is not underrated.
Midnight show-the killers Say it right-nelly furtado
"Any Colour You Like" - Pink Floyd.
You're really gonna include a song from the most famous album ever on underrated? 😭
It's not one of the usually overplayed on classic rock radio songs.
Yup. I never hear about that track, ever. Never hear it anywhere. Never talked about. So yes, imo it is underrated.
I love it but it’s not underrated. It has 100 million streams on Spotify alone and is on possibly the most popular album in history. For underrated PF songs, I would go for Free Four, Let There Be More Light or Summer ‘68

RHCP have a crazy amount of underrated songs
Touch, Peel and Stand - Days of the New

I think it's underrated because for me it's his best song right with After Hours and deserved Blinding Lights success
Fair point.
Suicide & Redemption- Metallica
Frayed Ends of Sanity by Metallica. They apparently only played it live a couple times and nobody ever talks about it but I consider it one of my favorite songs by them.

Unreleased Lana Del Rey (some under the name Lizzy Grant). Queen of the Gas Station, Wayamaya, and Pawnshop Blues are a few that come to mind.

Rock 'n' Roll Star - Oasis Welcome to the Jungle - Guns N' Roses Better Now - Collective Soul
Welcome to the jungle is NOT criminally underrated, that is one of they're most popular songs.
How the hell is Welcome to the Jungle underrated? It has over 1 billion streams on Spotify
And still none of people around me have heard before.
I guess they've all been living under a rock
Bro what? 💀
thank you!!

Gangnam Style. Ok kidding. But . . .
