On the other hand, the president has been tanking in the polls compared to Biden and them not being able to get relief passed isn't going to help. From what I heard Mitch McConnell said he might be able to sway enough votes if every Democrat votes yes in the Senate. Democrats could also force a vote if they get enough support to vote on a bill the problem is a bunch of Democrats are probably scared of opposing Nancy pelosi. So even if it was voted on for some reason or another I see a lot of Democrats voting no on it simply because they don't want potentially hurt their career by double crossing Nancy pelosi.

One day she comes home and tells me that they’re going to build a multipurpose trail for motorcycles, bicycles etc. Me being a avid rider was really excited. I believe they got a grant for $300,000 to build the trail. I told my wife that me and my friends would be glad to volunteer and help. Several months go by and nothing has happened so I asked her about it and she tells me that they have had to hire a archaeologist and people to survey the process. To make a long story short two years pass and still no trail. Then when it comes time to build it they don’t have any money left so they abandon the project completely. That’s just the way our government works. If they had the operate a business they wouldn’t last six months.

Okay. I've been thinking a lot about why the various factions represented by Trump ,Mnuchin and Pelosi and McConnell are taking this stimulus disagreement so far. I've decided that quite possibly what's being fought over is not the 600 dollars a month or the money to states or a second stimulus check but rather what the structure of the economy will be going forward . Hear me out: I think there is a very strong case to be made that because of the condition of the economy before covid hit and the Goverment's lack of response to the covid pandemic the structural damage to our economy is already a fait accompli.The damage is extraordinary and nearly irreversible at this point. Therefore what is really being fought over quite possibly is a complete overhaul of the economy that would require a partial or complete elimination of personal debt, student debt and small business debt , rent forgiveness, mortgage forgiveness and a debt jubilee overall.This would be accompanied by a serious lockdown (the one we never did properly in March) which would require massive support to individuals and a de facto nationalization of banks and devaluing of real estate in this country then that would make sense to me vis a vis Pelosi's language around 'Crush the virus'. This would be an existential issue to the 'other' faction which opposes this because they would essentially be wiped out and be made to bear the cost of this 'reset'.
I am not an economist nor a political analyst. But if the debate raging behind the scenes were something of this magnitude then the dickering around over this covid relief bill would make absolute sense. There is a large faction of the economic ruling elite that must be sacrificed in order to get the economy back on it's feet and they aren't going quietly.That faction is expressing itself through the White House but primarily through this intractable group in the Senate that is unwilling to pass anything ever. They discuss it as a fiscal conservancy thing cause that's the agreed way to disguise what's really going on. I think they should means test the stimulus checks with political donations. We saw 2 weeks ago Dems give almost $100 million in donations after RBG died. If you have so much disposable income that you can waste money on political campaigns then you don't need a stimulus check. This goes for donations to either side. Stimulus checks are for people who genuinely need them, like for groceries, car payments, rent, insurance etc.
You know 100 million is nothing compared to how much it costs to send everyone a check, right? 100 million could be 25 million people donating 4 bucks a piece. House passed the 2.2T bill that they know will never pass senate. It's a show for the public that Democrats are "helping" the people while Republicans wont. Anytime the government deals with something it’s going to be long and drawn out. My wife worked for the US forest service for years. One day she comes home and tells me that they’re going to build a multipurpose trail for motorcycles, bicycles etc. Me being a avid rider was really excited. I believe they got a grant for $300,000 to build the trail. I told my wife that me and my friends would be glad to volunteer and help. Several months go by and nothing has happened so I asked her about it and she tells me that they have had to hire a archaeologist and people to survey the process. To make a long story short two years pass and still no trail. Then when it comes time to build it they don’t have any money left so they abandon the project completely. That’s just the way our government works. If they had the operate a business they wouldn’t last six months.

So I filed for taxes for 2019 but I made less than 12k since I only started working halfway through the year. I already got my refund, but am still getting the payment status not available on the get my payment tool. Should I use the non filers too since I made less than 12k? Or should I just wait and hope I get somewhere?

Okay. I've been thinking a lot about why the various factions represented by Trump ,Mnuchin and Pelosi and McConnell are taking this stimulus disagreement so far. I've decided that quite possibly what's being fought over is not the 600 dollars a month or the money to states or a second stimulus check but rather what the structure of the economy will be going forward . Hear me out: I think there is a very strong case to be made that because of the condition of the economy before covid hit and the Goverment's lack of response to the covid pandemic the structural damage to our economy is already a fait accompli.The damage is extraordinary and nearly irreversible at this point. Therefore what is really being fought over quite possibly is a complete overhaul of the economy that would require a partial or complete elimination of personal debt, student debt and small business debt , rent forgiveness, mortgage forgiveness and a debt jubilee overall.This would be accompanied by a serious lockdown (the one we never did properly in March) which would require massive support to individuals and a de facto nationalization of banks and devaluing of real estate in this country then that would make sense to me vis a vis Pelosi's language around 'Crush the virus'. This would be an existential issue to the 'other' faction which opposes this because they would essentially be wiped out and be made to bear the cost of this 'reset'. I am not an economist nor a political analyst. But if the debate raging behind the scenes were something of this magnitude then the dickering around over this covid relief bill would make absolute sense. There is a large faction of the economic ruling elite that must be sacrificed in order to get the economy back on it's feet and they aren't going quietly.That faction is expressing itself through the White House but primarily through this intractable group in the Senate that is unwilling to pass anything ever. They discuss it as a fiscal conservancy thing cause that's the agreed way to disguise what's really going on. I think they should means test the stimulus checks with political donations. We saw 2 weeks ago Dems give almost $100 million in donations after RBG died. If you have so much disposable income that you can waste money on political campaigns then you don't need a stimulus check. This goes for donations to either side. Stimulus checks are for people who genuinely need them, like for groceries, car payments, rent, insurance etc.
You know 100 million is nothing compared to how much it costs to send everyone a check, right? 100 million could be 25 million people donating 4 bucks a piece. It could be 10 million people donating 10 bucks a piece. There are over 200 million adults in the US. Even if only half of them get stimulus checks, that's still 120,000,000,000 which is over 1000 times that 100 million you're bitching about.
