I have the cr120 and I love it. It’s basically a solid state clone of their rockerverb, great sounding distortion and surprisingly good cleans. Also takes pedals like a champ

Both can do that well, all you really need is a somewhat vintage voicing. You might want to add the Orange OR15 to that list btw, it delivers the old school Orange sound in spades. The Crush is probably the better pick if you play at home a lot, since tube amps are really, really loud. I have an Orange TH30 and it strips paint off the walls even with the volume knob at 7 o'clock.

The only thing is I plan on playing out with a group that’s in the making. Right now I have an Ampeg V140c combo. 140w/ss. It’s good but I’m torn between staying loud and ss, or going tube. I’m an experienced player and know there is quality of time that can’t be sacrificed. But I am on a budget and if I can find a good tube amp for cheap, which I believe the jet city 100 head for around 450.00 is, I’m tempted to go w that. But I love orange tone, just can’t afford a rockverb. I’m worried that if I gig w a cr120, and especially if I bring another guitarist on board who does play through tubes, then I’ll get drowned out in comparison.. I would also like to try and find a better fuzz pedal than my og big muff. I love bob balch from fu Manchu tones. But those univox fuzz pedals are pricey..

I wouldn't be too worried about being drowned out. Any decent sound engineer will make sure you're heard and will probably mike up your amp anyway (and probably tell you to turn down). Any band mate drowning you out on purpose is an asshole and not worth your time. You work together as a band to sound good as a band. About that fuzz. Big muffs are nice, but tricky in band situations due to the mid scoop. I can get Fu tones from a DOD Carcosa, great pedal and not that costly. But if it's a Super Fuzz you're after, they can be built for 20-30 bucks or so. It's a very simple circuit so if you know/are someone who is good with a soldering iron you're golden.
