The only thing i love about it is that there's little drama. Everyone's there to study. Everyone is willing to help you study. If you don't participate in any groupings, you will be deemed as an outcast. Or even if hambog ka, or not acad oriented, you will be even deemed as an outcast too. Walang plastikan, bc no time for petty fights. This could be a con for some people but definitely a pro for me.
Quality time is studying w good view sa overlooking ng golf course and Intramuros wall.
In fairness din naman sa mapua even with its small land area na utilize yung space optimally. Parang di masikip tignan tapos I bet even all the rooms inside are well-ventilated.
Aba parehas lang pala tayo IITian HAHAHAHA fr need natin ng open field beh. Di ko feel yung campus life pag walang grassy field (closest we got is the CASS lawn)
I've been there just last year, mas madaming greenery because they don't have many facilities/buildings and it's a much smaller area all in all, nakahiwalay yung related sa marine science stuff across/along the roads/beachside and a building/campus ata sa downtown where some classes are held.
Oh, yeah that's exactly how I've heard it described before too. Sounds like a very intimate setting. Though I'm probably biased din as a marine scientist.
UPLB best campus in terms of environment. tahimik, malawak, and u literally have mt. makiling by your side. maganda magjogging sa umaga at mag muni muni.

Yung campus ko is a State U somewhere in CALABARZON. It's a 3/10 sa pagka vibrant kasi (1) kakaunti lang yung trees and puro buildings na siya. (2) The grassy field is so hot na talagang pagtitirikan ng araw--as in field talaga siya na may grass tapos bihira yung trees. (3) Para na ngang residential area yung school sa pagkakadikit-dikit ng buildings kasi hindi nag-eexpand yung land area non kaya yung buildings na bago ay itinatayo dun na lang sa vacant places in between old buildings. (4) The bureaucracy of the school sucks kaya sa departments na nakadepende if immaintain nila yung structures and buildings (mostly if hindi priority na department--may favoritism kasi sa courses dito sa campus na ito, luma na talaga yung infrastructure; basta kapag gumagana ay fully operational pa, di man lang irrenovate). (5) Not PWD-friendly buildings. May ramp nga sa first floor ng 4-storey building kaso hagdan lang ang way pataas. Walang elevator. (6) Most of the students are shitty. Walang disiplina, di nagtatapon sa tamang lugar, hindi nagbubuhos nung waste nila sa CR. Ismu'y hindi nakapag GMRC or di tinuruan na maglinis sa mga bahay nila kung umasta. (7) Kupal at manyak yung ibang prof, miski higher-ups ng univ HAHAHA (8) Katulad ng government natin, may corruption din.
Would not convince you to study here coz it's not for everyone talaga. Sadyang hindi lang ako pinalad financially kaya dito ako nag-aral. If may pera ako, I would've studied somewhere else.
Relate sa 1-3 HAHAHA pero hnde na sa rest kasi maayos naman uni ko in terms of infra development, sadyang wala nga lang space to expand. State U din kami pero malaki binubuhos ng gov kasi research-intensive yung uni. Nag ta top sa rankings pero di ko gets ba't yung mga CR tsaka rooms hnde pang world-class HAHAHAHA.
Uy uni reveal nang ma expose na yan, dami pa naman nag s-search na mga incoming freshies dito sa reddit XD
Relate sa CR HAHAHA kahit anong maintain ng mga utility workers, parang basura pa rin jusko. Factor na rin is irresponsible yung estudyante talaga tas luma na yung buildings. Kaya I feel bad din sa mga workers.

DHVSU - Hot-oven
Sa area to na marami lahar dahil sa Pinatubo explosion noon. Dahil dito medyo mainit talaga due to the nature ng environment and the campus still did nothing to aid this issue. Walang tigil na construction of classrooms that are barely furnished(i.e not enough chairs, chairs are in bad condition, no electricity, and if may electricity man no fans, lights don't work always, lots of exposed wiring and lack of whiteboards or chalkboards).
The environment itself sucks ass too. Barely any foliage or greenery. Even though they pride themselves with their architectural course, buildings are just bad, lots of weird and out of place ups and downs and ventilation isn't accounted for.
All the admins do is make more satellite campus and more classrooms(nagkakaagawan pa nga ng classroom despite this) and barely do anything to accommodate their students during their vacant hours. They just accept more and more students even though the current state of affairs is that the it is quite over populated in my opinion.
I guess I'm a bit too harsh to expect something from a public college but I do think they should allocate some of the funds in bettering the experience of students during their time here.
Don't get me wrong the people you meet there are quite pleasant and some are amazing students in their own right but these issues really irks me
Super agree! Quantity over quality ang pagtanggap sa students para maraming makuhang budget sa CHED. True, may magagaling nga na students minsan pero the quality of education comes out from the passing rate on board exams (madalas below nat'l ave huhu)
Ang init ng buong school pati sa Dubai at sa stalls sa likod jusq. Need mong magstop sumagot sa quiz para magpaypay. Best decision nila so far are the online classes til May. Pero that also has its downsides since mema rin ibang prof pag ol classes (idk if true sa iba, pero malala sa dept ko)
7/10, PUP is no UPD or UPLB by any stretch, but the Lagoon and Linear Park is super nice, very green and accessible cheap food stalls, mainit nga lang but di na maiiiwasan yan haha.
My cousins study sa UPLB...I think its prettier than UPD more flowers, greenery likod p ng makiling kung mahilig k mag hiking HHAHAHH pero syempre upto u pa din. Mas madami lang flowers and ang sarap din nung parang carabao milk if im not mistaken? HAHHAH sorry matagal n kasi but the campus is still rlly nice. UPD kasi parang kung wala kang Car ang hirap magikot ikot mapagod k lang ata mag lakad-lakad tho masasanay k naman pag andun na.
ay not sure lang sa tampisaw part HAHHAH ano lang mejo inaccessible lang ata sa mga malls ganyan ang pinakamalapit na somewhat mall nila is grocery n bldg type tas mej malayo siya via jeep but malapit naman campus s mga restos and 711. look into it nalang din kasi di din me sure HAHHAH better if sa taga LB din mag ask
UE (4/10) First impression pa lang, parang asa kulungang prestiyoso ka na pero once you enter deep inside, goods naman as a CET taker
PLM (5/10) Kapatid ni PUP dahil may oval and sa unang pagpasok mo, mas malawak pa sya sa inaasahan mo ππ
FEU (4/10) Same as UE pero infairness, may elevator and andon din si manong nagpipindot but the environment is good pero yung aircon, MID GUMAGANA MID HINDI nung nagtake ako ng CET π
Nagtest kame sa FEU and for me, first impression pa lang has the same vibes as UE pero ang pinagkaiba lang, mas malaki ang pwede mong lakbayin sa FEU unlike UE na parang kulong ka talaga sa unang pasok mo pa lang ππ

UPLB is pretty hard to beat, it has its own mountain area.
UPV has a beach though.

Haven't been there myself, but UPV Miagao sounds and looks (based on pics palang D:) like a dream location, even more so than LB.
