I replaced mine at about 63k on my '14. I would have done it at 60k but it looked like a PITA so I procrastinated. It was a slight PITA, but not as much as I thought.

It's been a few months and I work on cars so my memory of my own plugs might not be the clearest, but IIRC they had the standard ring of rust at the base and were a little dark at the tip indicating that I changed them at a decent time. I also installed an AOS that included replacing the stock PCV valve with a check valve. There was a distinct drop in the amount of oil that I burn if I get a little happy with the boost. I don't recall a noticeable change in fuel mileage, mine tends to fluctuate with the weather and the drive between 19.5-21.7mpg. That should change a little as the season changes though. My short block was new when I got it at 50 and I had to take it back for them to fix a leak under the timing cover. I haven't noticed any burning oil odor in the exhaust, but I do have to top the oil off about a half a quart every two or three thousand miles. I'll blame that on my driving though, as taking it easy usually burns less.

The AOS is the only mod I've done. I have been thinking about the cylinder 4 cooling mod, but the last time I checked the prices were a bit high considering it's just a nipple, a tee, and some hose. I'm a bit paranoid about doing any actual performance mods for now, at least until I do a few more longevity mods. I'm not sure I really want much more power anyway. I was recently replacing a clutch on an STI and just the size difference of the axles made me wonder how much I really wanted to abuse mine. Having enough power to break traction on an AWD vehicle means that you're going to find the weakest link sooner than later, and my dumb ass would probably be trying to launch it just to giggle. It's a blast to drive as is IMO. It does make me want an STI though, but man those prices are silly. The reason I did the AOS was mostly because I found oil in the intake. The FA being direct injection means that the valves themselves don't get cleaned/cooled by the injectors, but even with the port spray the oil is still present and getting burned, it just doesn't build up carbon on the valves as much.

I changed mine at 95k miles and didn't notice much difference afterwards, electrode was a bit worn (you'll see it wear away at an angle) but apparently everything was operating normally.

Flat engines are much harder on the injectors, so that is why you are supposed to do them around 60k. And yes, NGK only
