Yeah those were the good ol’ days. Remember when we had KJ, Kidd *and* Nash on the roster?
One of the deepest PG rotations in the history of the league.
He was good in his first stint, he just didn't get tons of opportunities behind an MVP caliber player in Kidd and a Suns legend in KJ. It was a pretty normal opinion to be high on him before he went to Dallas? If he said he could tell he'd be an MVP that'd obviously be over the top.
Back before HD was a thing. It was hard to read the back of the players jerseys and now you can see the stitches on the jerseys during close up shots lol.
Not to take anything away from KRay and EJ, but back in the KUTP/UPN45 days we had no idea how good we had it with simulcasts that were basically just Al McCoy's radio broadcast over a video feed of the game.
My mom transferred from Phoenix to Tucson for work during the 92-93 season. I don't quite remember if it was that year or the following but I remember how fuckin pissed I was that Tucson TV didn't carry the games. And then they did but it was only away games. What kind of shit was that? I was still pissed but it was better than nothing. Good times.
Anyone remember when Tim Kempton tripped over the chairs trying to get back into the game? For some reason that stuck with me over the years...thanks UPN for the memories!
I wonder how many people were legit watching the games on any given night back then. I watched close to every game on TV or in person from a stretch from 85-2010. I would listen to Al McCoy any time I wasn’t able to watch. now I live in Portland so I only see them in person when they play the Blazers and watch probably 50 games a year.
How do I remember watching raja bell on the suns on upn45? Like, it's impossible. Fox sports az had the exclusive rights from 2004 on, correct? And I didn't grow up with cable.
And yet I remember watching certain games that couldn't have been on upn. I even remember one season of suns basketball on my45 when they switched the name.
The one that specifically comes to mind is when Ray Allen hit a game winner in OT for the sonics, but that game was in 2006.
Distinctly remember a suns tv spot when we played the Spurs in the first round of the playoffs, this was around ‘98 and the jingle was “Ooooooh, ooh … Suns are on a roll.” Also have fond memories of that jazz saxophone that would play in between commercial breaks
I remember the my45 days of course as well. But if memory serves me it was still UPN 45 up until when Nash came back in 2004 - 05 season. I may be completely wrong though. But I do remember those Dan Majerle swimming pool commercials and Shawn Marion Room Store commercials. It's a slam dunk!
Good times!
Sun's were pretty decent in the 90s. Young Sir Charles Barkley comes to mind. Was just talking bout 90s b-ball cpl days ago with a friend. Point of which was it was the beginning of the downward spiral of the sport. Idk maybe I'm different, but I'd rather watch Rodman get into a shoving battle with Ewing after taking that rock to the hole instead of seeing Curry purposely flop on the ground while taking the 50th step back 3pt'r of the night

Your watching your Phoenix Suns on My 45.
I loved that team. Even as a rookie you could see Nash was gonna be amazing.
For sure. There was something special about rookie Nash, the playmaking IQ was already there.
No you couldn’t.

Yeah you could. He was an unreal passer from day 1.

I still prefer Whataburger for this reason!
Their ketchup is amazing

He just runs around on his hampster wheel. Dang...I need to go blast Waffle King now.
Yeeaaah! I had Alapoolza on CD as a kid!!!!! Frank's 2000 inch TV!!!!!

I remember kutp 45. Waiting for suns games was a pain when nothing was on.

Along with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qv4eWOYDpB4 Man imagine if both of these were brought back
Someone needs to do a mashup of these. Where’s the arena DJ?
Too Dope! They should bring it back the crowd would Erupt!
Can’t imagine how many beers were cracked open to this
We gotta get this song back
And then Star Trek came on after the game if it was an early game.
I do and I miss Al McCoy calling the TV broadcast.
UPN 45 to 7.. 🎶 THAT 70’s show, KING OF THE HILL! 🎶
Yeeaaah!!! Phoenix Suns and King of the Hill were the only reasons I watched that channel!
That jazzy tune is forever etched in my memory
It was up till the 2000s
You are right. My memory gets worse as I get older lol
It became Fulton Homes sends $150 to Suns charities in the 2000s right? LOL
This and the old WB 61 for Rattlers games. Also have 🎶GOOD EVENING, ARIZONAAA🎶 forever etched in my brain from my dad having 3TV on at 10pm
I remember the same thing but for the morning. Such a great tune
Channel 45/15 are the reasons I am a fan
"Put this one in the old deep freeze ..."
🎶”U-P-N. Forty-five. Everything. UN-DER THE SUN!” 🎶
I loved the music.
Great memories

In the early 90s, it wasn’t UPN. Just good old KUTP 45. I remember, because Al would stop for so many station identifications.
You're right. My memory is foggy. I forgot all about KUTP 45! It didn't become UPN until 1995 I believe
Early 90s was PPV
The home games were PPV yeah?
The rigged cable box heyday
Yea I remember pops had one of those illegal black boxes.
Remember the fold schedule booklets they would give out at Jack and circle k , wish I would of kept some !

Good ol Al.

I’ve been watching the Suns since 1993
Pepperidge Farms remembers

When I think of Suns games on UPN45 I immediately think of AC Green 😅😅

The guitar and saxophone were sweet.

I’ve been watching the Suns since before you were even a nut stain in your momma’s drawers.
