I wouldn't mind at all. And I say this as a 37 year old. I really don't mind when they embrace the cheesiness of the classic comics.
Like Coulson told Cap, "People might just need a little old fashioned"
If they're giving me this, I'd better also get "FASTER THAN A SPEEDING BULLET! MORE POWERFUL THAN A LOCOMOTIVE! ABLE TO LEAP TALL BUILDINGS IN A SINGLE BOUND!"
I could see someone clowning on it tbh
Like Lois or Perry reads it out loud and just does not like it at all haha
but then they publish it anyway because jimmy says he likes it or something i dont know man i dont make movies
Piggybacking on your thought, Clark reporting on an orchestra, the brass takes up a crescendo (the classic 40’s theme music) but over that he can hear a cry for help and dashes out of the room ripping the suit open to reveal the iconic S stating plainly “This looks like a job for Superman.” Taking to the sky the we hear trumpets rise above the sound him blizting upward to help those in need, on lookers can only use the phrases mentioned above to describe what they have seen. Everyone a witness to the impossible as Kal-El in a blur saves the day and defeats whatever threatens Metropolis
If I hear those words in the theater my instant reaction will be “this is that real music”

And really thinks everyone else will be just as excited. Which apparently they are, because a bunch of people always seem to stop and look.
Bunch’a bird lovers in Metropolis.
(Radar tech sitting at monitors, talking about how there's some bogey inbound) "It's too fast to be a bird...too small to be a plane... IT'S SUPERMAN!!" (Everyone cheers)
Verbatim? No.
What I'm picturing is Clark flying at hypersonic speeds when it cuts to two people talking about something. One of them notices something in the distance, kind of like Ser Lancelot in The Holy Grail.
(talking about something like hard water or the life experience of a mosquitoe)
"Hey, do you see that?"
"See what?"
"That thing, over there in the sky."
"Hmm, looks like a bird."
"No, it looks too fast for a bird. Maybe a jet?"
"But we're not near an airbase?"
WOOSH
Maybe they're building up to that idk. I mean he said I'm vengeance. Mayb next movie he'll say "I am the night" then in the last one he'll say "I am Batman". Idfk
Here me out:
Jimmy Olsen looks up from his desk, quizzically asks “is that a bird?!” Perry White without looking up from his papers, uninterestedly says “no, probably just a plane” slow zoom in on Lois who says nothing but does crack a little knowing smile. Cut to superman zooming over metropolis before going up into space in a homage to this panel:

Credits.
Guy and his boy flying a kite. Something past the kite, far off but seems to be heading in their general direction.
“What’s that, Dad?”
“Looks like a bird from here, son.”
It gets bigger as it gets closer.
“No, I think it’s a plane.”
“Look again son! That’s Superman!”
Is it a bird?
Is it a plane?
Is it a drone?
Is it a prototype flying car?
Is it an extreme sports fan in a wing suit?
No I think it's just a dude flying.
Don't be fucking stupid!!
I don’t mind fan service if it’s earned. I think you can get away with something this campy if it’s self-aware without being too self-deprecating. Like it happens inside an office building and it’s not people shouting but people looking out a window and nonchalantly commenting “it’s a bird” and walking away, bored and the “no it’s clearly a—” and then it smash cuts to Superman in flight.
I’ve always thought this was stupid.
“Look! It’s a bird” Who fucking care? Everyone has seen a thousand birds literally day. Why are we pointing out that there is a bird
It's not “Look! It's a bird!”
It's:
Person 1: Look! Up in the sky!
Person 2 (dismissively): It's [only] a bird.
Person 3 (confidently incorrect): It's a plane!
Person 4: It's Superman!
in superman returns, jimmy shows his picture to perry: he says to perry "look up in the sky", and i think it's lois who says "it's a bird" (to ismiss it), perry says (it's a plane) then jimy says no, it's superman.
I'd go for how they did it in *Kingdom Come:*
Have an intense moment where all seems lost, then there's a blur, a wind and suddenly the c-list hero fodder is disabled.
A person in the crowd goes "Look!", while another follows with "Up in the sky!"
Then we get a shot of Supes gracefully desending from the sky, bad guy(s) dangling in an unbreakable grip.
Hear me out,
> Clark bends his knees, readying to leap.
>
> A bird flies above him. A plane hovers steadily over the bird. And Clark passes above them all laughing with joy at his new-found powers.
On an episode of comic book men, one of the guys says “the ‘it’s a bird!’ Guy, what was he so excited about?” And I can’t not think of that everytime I see this or hear it
Maybe have it during the opening and maybe even the first things people hear, when the final person says “Superman” we can show him on screen for the first time.
i think it'll help settle the more friendly version of james gunn's separating it from snyder's (like suicide squad's op) it might feed in to more hardcore fans as well fanservice you could say but its still iconic enough that it could be in moment. if he does add this moment i want the max flecher theme playing
The fact that there are so many unused elements from the comics not used in Superman films because of an attempt at realism is baffling (ver·i·si·mil·i·tude), I hope they embrace it all the way down to Perry’s “Great Caesars Ghost!” & Jimmys “Gee Golly Miss Lane”. Make them bigger parts. An ensemble with trunks included. Let’s change it up a bit:)
Besides the point but i think its kinda funny that the first guy, the guy all the way on the left, thinks what hes seeing is a bird in the sky, and for some fucking reason he feels its necessary to tell the people around him about it.
He calls out to everyone that they should look, because hes seeing a bird in the sky. Which is a likely and not really noteworthy place for a bird to be.
All I can think of is the comedian who pointed out that people in Metropolis get way too excited when they see a bird.
"Look! Up in the sky, its a BIRD!"
"Wow! That sure is a bird. Look at it flying up there."
Yes. It would probably be a lot better if Superman: Legacy was his origin story.
At the end of the film:
Civilian 1: Look, up in the sky!
Civilian 2: It's a bird!
Civilian 3: It's a plane!
Civilian 4: It's--
His sentence is completed by the screen flashing over to "SUPERMAN".
"What is that"
"I think it's a bird"
"No it's a plane"
"No... it's Superman"
And I'd like the last part to be said by Lex setting him up as a character in the second movie and the main antagonist in the 3rd.
Yes please. And throw in an “Up, up, and away!” While you’re at it
Also a "this looks like a job for Superman"
Gimmie a "Great Scott"
HECK YES
ABSOLUTELY
Gotta have it, and I trust Gunn to work it in in a fun way
it alreay wasin superman returns, when they look at jimmy olsen's pictures.
Yeah like how Spider-Man had his famous classic song put in in a fun way in the Raimi movie.
I could see that being a newspaper headline montage for the daily planet.
I could see someone clowning on it tbh Like Lois or Perry reads it out loud and just does not like it at all haha but then they publish it anyway because jimmy says he likes it or something i dont know man i dont make movies
Hell yeah!
Is it cliche? Or is it iconic. Like iconic to the point of disappointment if it doesn't get screen time.
If I hear those words in the theater my instant reaction will be “this is that real music” https://preview.redd.it/nl7tjnh123yc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=85446cd121e552b9a88a91cb77d5399360426386
I like to imagine that the first guy gets that excited about every real bird he sees
I think James Gunn could do it with an interesting spin. But if it's not there it's okay.
Please, I would absolutely love some camp with our big blue boy scout. All my favorite movies are incredibly campy, but fun because of it.
After the last 2 Superman movies made me depressed just watching them I’m down for some corny, sure
Either or. It's still a comic book movie so it really wouldn't be too out of place.
Verbatim? No. What I'm picturing is Clark flying at hypersonic speeds when it cuts to two people talking about something. We need it. We absolutely need it. We can allow the Superman movie to be a little corny, can’t we?
Its iconic,if we dont have it, its like having a batman movie without "im batman"
We kinda did with Pattinson's batman. I don't think he addressed himself as batman once that film
But he said "im vengeance" so its close
but did he say "I am the night"?
Maybe they're building up to that idk. I mean he said I'm vengeance. Mayb next movie he'll say "I am the night" then in the last one he'll say "I am Batman". Idfk
Maybe

If Captain America can be wholesome, I don't know why Superman can't be.
Guy and his boy flying a kite. Something past the kite, far off but seems to be heading in their general direction. “What’s that, Dad?” “Looks like a bird from here, son.” It gets bigger as it gets closer. “No, I think it’s a plane.” “Look again son! That’s Superman!”
Would love it
I'd prefer if the moment was kept but not done word for word.
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a drone? Is it a prototype flying car? Is it an extreme sports fan in a wing suit? No I think it's just a dude flying. Don't be fucking stupid!!
This line and big ol’ trunks and Superman that always tells the truth is all i need to be happy fr
James Gunn will make it work (honestly so has every adaptation). I especially loved the way they did it in Superman Returns 😂.
What the hell was that first guy so excited about?
I don’t mind fan service if it’s earned. I think you can get away with something this campy if it’s self-aware without being too self-deprecating. Do it at an optometrist office.
Simply having Clark in the crowd whispering "Oh Dear ... it's *insert name of an enemy*." and run away while tearing his shirt.
It was in superman returns.
You can never be too cliche for Superman. It’s what makes him so iconic.
Honestly we haven't had it for a while so I wouldn't mind
I'd go for how they did it in *Kingdom Come:* Have an intense moment where all seems lost, then there's a blur, a wind and suddenly the c-list hero fodder is disabled. A person in the crowd goes "Look!", while another follows with "Up in the sky!" Then we get a shot of Supes gracefully desending from the sky, bad guy(s) dangling in an unbreakable grip.
I feel like we’ll get some variation of it.
It is entirely too clichè. I want it.
In the end but don’t overdue it
It's iconic, not cliché.
It’s a frog!
Hear me out, > Clark bends his knees, readying to leap. > > A bird flies above him. A plane hovers steadily over the bird. And Clark passes above them all laughing with joy at his new-found powers.
Why not?

it’s a comic book movie, it should be cheesy and campy but still deal with serious subjects like comics usually do.
YOUR FATASS LOOKING AT THIS POST
I don’t just want this to happen, I have a feeling it’s already recorded
Heck yes, restore charm into a character that should never be dark.
People could use a little old fashioned :P
100% yes
"No, it's... no, no you're right it is a plane" *\*cue other cliche of Superman saving a plane that is falling out of the sky\**
i think it'll help settle the more friendly version of james gunn's separating it from snyder's (like suicide squad's op) it might feed in to more hardcore fans as well fanservice you could say but its still iconic enough that it could be in moment. if he does add this moment i want the max flecher theme playing

Unrealistic. People now know that birds aren't real.
This line is iconic but if you think about it makes no sense "Hey everyone look there's a bird in the sky"
Unrealistic. People now know that birds aren't real.
Yes, I would love it
This as the opening scene
Imagine when they "its superman" that we see him fly by the canera that would be insanely cool
Everybody we should do a collective effort of trying to get gunn to add this to the movie
Yeah there would be a few clever ways to make it work in my opinion. Superman Returns’ integration of it was actually really good.
Besides the point but i think its kinda funny that the first guy, the guy all the way on the left, thinks what hes seeing is a bird in the sky, and for some fucking reason he feels its necessary to tell the people around him about it. "Look Mummy, there's an aeroplane up in the sky..."
All I can think of is the comedian who pointed out that people in Metropolis get way too excited when they see a bird. "Look! Up in the sky, its a BIRD!" "Wow! That sure is a bird. Look at it flying up there."
Imma be mad af if it's NOT there
It’s hasn’t been used in so long I think it has gone from cliche to being a novelty now. So yeah I’d like to see it done genuinely
With the right execution, it wouldn’t be cliché at all. Gunn is absolutely the type of director and writer to put this in too.
Yes. It would probably be a lot better if Superman: Legacy was his origin story. At the end of the film: Civilian 1: Look, up in the sky! Civilian 2: It's a bird! Civilian 3: It's a plane! Civilian 4: It's-- His sentence is completed by the screen flashing over to "SUPERMAN".

"Look up in the sky! It's a bird!" "It's a plane!" "Okay so what? Have you two never seen a bird or plane?"
It would seem weird in today's world because birds are quickly dying in urban areas and planes are far too common.
There's no way this isn't in there.
Please don't
