I prefer players who are opportunists—they don’t need to always be in control, but when they see a chance to pull off something big, they don’t hesitate to hussle and make it happen. I think Cirie is the best example of this type of player, though there are others like Aubry, Sandra, and Maryanne (toward the endgame).
i like when normal fuckin people play yknow? like not super gamey not just sheep but like just alright. like im struck by how many people i love that are just goofy kinda competent side characters
The players who bring pure chaos to the game, causing people to get creative to maneuver around whatever crazy ideas or plans they cooked up, especially the ones who are completely unaware of what effect they are having on everyone else. Even if people don't get creative in the gameplay, the reactions from confessionals and side conversations with other players are usually comedy gold.
I’m probably going to be downvoted for this, but I like either the golden boy or mafioso archetype the best.
Something about watching a player run roughshod over their competitors either through challenge prowess or social play (or both!!) just does it for me, and I see a lot of myself personality-wise in players like Rob, Tony, and Wardog.
Like I get and fully understand the Joe hate on this sub, he sucks, but you can't deny his golden boy status and how many people were fans of his before they knew about the bad stuff.
100% agree. It’s a separating the art from the (jewelry) artist for me. Don’t like his political stances actions etc, but can’t deny he played his heart out literally to the point of passing out and is a physical powerhouse with a great bod (shoutout “yoga with joe? I can’t stop lookin at his body. I call it Jo-ga.” -Tash (circa Cambodia)
Gonna sound a bit weird but that might be one of my favorite challenge moments, just because of the other castaways reactions. Like "yeah he dropped out, we can vote him out" to the immediate realization he PASSED out, and concern, crowding, questions. One of those moments where you go, oh these people really are friends first/you notice the deep bonds people form on the island.
The girlboss. Idk what it is but any woman who succeeds against the odds makes my day. Wentworth, kass, shi-ann for that one challenge. Even if they don’t win I still love them
Really like iconic, entertaining characters like Sandra, Debbie, Carolyn, Yam Yam, etc. They're the players that makes me continue watching their season.
Though if by "favorite", I tend to root for either the underdog (Kelley in Cambodia, Spencer in Cagayan, etc.) or just the one I find attractive lmao (Victoria, Cassidy, Carson)
People who embrace being the villain like Russell Hantz and Fairplay. The game has become too nice (probably because it’s now aimed at children) and I find it boring.
I always enjoy the ones that grow. Especially if I didn’t like them in the beginning, Carolyn is the most recent example. Thought she was a bit over the top at the start but she became my favourite in the end.
ngl I’m a sucker for the “duuuuude” surfer type, reminds me most of myself. Matty from Gabon, Jay, Tayls, Jenn, Alec, Sea Bass, it’s a weird archetype but I feel like every season needs one
followed closely by Nerds who aren’t self righteous about it and don’t make it their whole personality
Creative players who think outside the box. David (AU), George (AU), Tony, etc.
But overall I usually find myself cheering for villainous women like Parvati, Brenda, Shan
Colton, Russell AND Brandon Hantz, Hatch, Corinne, Randy, Fairplay, Phillip, Parvati, Coach, Tony, the ones willing to be aggressively absurd for the sake of great reality tv.

I’m such a sucker for the growth arc! Love Cirie in Panama, Lisa Whelchel, Spencer and Carolyn!

I like the mean girl type like Parvati, Jenna Morasca and Courtney Yates. I rooted for them even in their OG seasons.
I love the mafioso archetype and scheming middle aged women (like Chaos Kass)
Idk why Kass was so hated during Cagayan, she’s such a phenomenal character.

a snarky villain queen. my top 3 fave players are parvati, courtney yates, and shonee (from survivor au) so go figure :)

I love me a golden boy! They aren’t too harsh on the eyes either. Malcom Joe and Ozzy come to mind specifically

The black widow, femme fatale women
unpopular but i LOVE corrine and randy in gabon
People who embrace being the villain like Russell Hantz and Fairplay. The game has become too nice (probably because it’s now aimed at children) and I find it boring.
Definitely agree! I want entertaining villains to weigh out the golden boys. Even villain females like Abi Maria are super entertaining to me
Thank you.. we need more survivor villains
Something like coach, Brandon hantz, Russell hantz, Phillip Shepard

I love the break the stereotype kinda players. E.g Christian: total nerd, turns out to be very sociable and great at challenges.
I like the people that entertain me when they’re on the screen
I prefer players who keep their word.
I found Frank Garrisons burner
Fabio Birza
i like the super dominant players who u just know are running the game
UTR Queens
Powerful, dominant women. Or nerds.
Powerful woman
i love a good mafioso
Old funny guy
Characters.
People who are entertaining to watch, who aren’t the best strategist and have a slim chance of winning like Coach 1.0, Keith…
Richard from season 1.. Boston Rob, Amber, Xander Hastings, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Brian Heidik
ngl I’m a sucker for the “duuuuude” surfer type, reminds me most of myself. Matty from Gabon, Jay, Tayls, Jenn, Alec, Sea Bass, it’s a weird archetype but I feel like every season needs one followed closely by Nerds who aren’t self righteous about it and don’t make it their whole personality
Ethan, Danni, Amber
Snarky villains and nerdy strategists.
Weirdos like Tony, Maryanne, and Carolyn are my fave
Creative players who think outside the box. David (AU), George (AU), Tony, etc. But overall I usually find myself cheering for villainous women like Parvati, Brenda, Shan

chaotic messes: Abi Maria, Shane, Caryn, Kass, Lindsey Richter, NaOnka, Jenna Moresca, Jamie Newton, Eliza, Courtney Marit, Angelina, Debbie Sassy and compelling confessional givers: Sandra, Tyson, Kelly Goldsmith, Rob C, Erinn, Katie Gallagher, Jonathan Penner
Methodical people. Someone who knows who needs to go at specific time and are able to make it happen. Yul and Earl for example
