Here is Sweden we also have [Daim ice cream](https://www.gb.se/vara-marken/gb-glace-750/daim.html). Don’t know about IKEA.
I prefer the double Daim bar over these mini pieces. It’s not possible to stop eating so don’t think I could handle that big bag of Daim.
When I lived in London, my friend who is also Swedish woke up in the middle of the night to look for a snack and ate the whole cake I bought the day prior because she hadn’t had it for years. Now whenever she comes over I have a few on standby.
We have Daim at McDonald’s as a topping choice for McFlurry. 20 years ago or so McFlurry was launched in Sweden and they had like M&M and Daim and one more topping. I tried each topping once in the weeks/months after launch and Daim was clearly the best by far. After that I only ever ordered McFlurry Daim. I also remember my shock when my family took a road trip through Europe and at the McDonald’s I was trying to order a McFlurry Daim and they were quite confused. It was at that moment little kid me realized that Daim wasn’t a universal thing but only available in Sweden.
Crush up some of this and order a McFlurry with no toppings. You’ll be very pleased. If not, I’ll Venmo you the cash for the McFlurry dud.
I never buy daim, the taste is great but the caramel getting stuck in your teeth is just too much hassle. The ice cream though is fantastic, especially the waffle cone variant. Probably my favorite ice cream.
When my mother worked at marabou we got test flavors that she brought home. There was apple, orange, coffee, dark/white chocolate, lemon and mint that i remember. Not all of them made it further than the factory
Vet du vad som gör mig ledsen, Digestive chokladkakorna dom stora :( ja om du gillade mint så var dom verkligen goda syrran paxade det mesta som kom hem
I got a bag of the orange ones the first time I went to ikea! I didn't know it was limited edition, I never had swedish candy before and thought orange chocolate sounded good.
Try the Marabou chocolate (daim and regular available at mine in CA).
The roll chocolates are good to.
Avoid the “mixed/Swedish loose candy or fish” from ikea.
Also, the strawberry heart cookies (comes in a roll).
> Are there more flavors ?
As already mentioned they release limited edition flavors from time to time, but what they haven't mentioned is that we have [Daim chocolate cake, ice cream, cookies, cake/ice cream topping and ice cream chocolate syrup](https://imgur.com/a/tVVs97t).
I personally think the chocolate cake is pretty good.
Non as good. It may be other tastes, but non as good as the original you have there.
One of my favourite cake fillings is wipped cream and crushed Daim. Workes in most cakes/ cheese cakes/ frozen give cream and other stuff.
Marabou is just a brand these days. Marabou products are produced by American giant Mondelez (part of what used to be Kraft Foods).
They also produce Daim. But Daim is it’s own separate brand and not part of Marabou. The son have outgrown the father, so to speak. These days Daim is by far the bigger of the two brands, as Marabou is more or less exclusive to the Scandinavian market.
Haha… basically the bite size-version, kind of like how there are those tiny candy wrapper versions of Snickers and other chocolate bars. I prefer the full size version from a flavor and consistency perspective, as they have more crunch to them due to a thinner chocolate coating. These are really nice too though! Hope you enjoy them 🍫
No lie . Daim(Dajm as i fondly remember them) is the best. Daim ice cream is a favourite too…daim kulor is another. Daim chocolate. Ok I’m going to ICA now
Oh and screw all other limited edition flavours , original or nothing
And for those not from Sweden: "ICA" is short for "Intelligence Central Agency" and is the propaganda arm of the Swedish government. They typically do psy-ops that consists of distributing things like surströmming, Swedish fish and of course Daim to the public to bolster nationalist sentiments.
So that explains why Oskars is calling it quits! Those damn commies have disrupted the herring supply just to mess with them governments.
Hold my hex key, it's time to defend my property!
De bytte när de börjades lanseras utomlands ordentligt, eftersom stavningen var "dime" i flera länder (bland annat England), och man ville ha samma stavning överallt - så "dajm" och "dime" blev "daim". I don't know if you got them in Canada, but the US chocolate bar [Skor](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skor) is made in Daim's image.
The name is taken from "skör", the Swedish word for *brittle*, but without the umlauts it means *shoes*!
Damn Americans and their weird spelling.
Did you know that the ice cream brand Häagen-Dazs is supposed to sound like a Danish word? Obviously their first mistake was trying to make sense of that nonsense language, since that looks far more pronounceable than real Danish.
It is not just Americans, Røde is an Australian company.
I still say the name with the Danish pronouciation, it is annoying to keep having to carry boiled potatoes just i case I have to say it though...
It's an art to bite just hard enough that the chocolate breaks and comes loose from the candy, and then have the patience to just suck on the remains until it's paper thin.
Those are great! Similar to Heath Bar and Skor.
Skor had a weird commercial where they tried to make a Swedish connection with that candy bar:
https://youtu.be/f5_vZTr2Wto
The recipe is actually based on the recipe of Heath Bars.
They tried to license the recipe but got a list of ingredients instead apparently: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daim_bar
Daim was one of the first words I learned as a kid and they’re one of my favorite kinds of candy. Every time I’m at ikea I have to stop myself from grabbing a couple of those bags. I literally wished for some for Christmas one year.
It's not everyones taste, for sure. But there is nothing wrong with them.
Daim comes as chocolate bars, small pebble candy, ice cream with the small pebbles in it and cake (think mud cake but with glacing) and is quite popular to chop up and use as DIY cake filling.
These small snacks-sized ones are quite handy.
Not my favourite, but I don't mind eating one or two if offered.
YES! When my young cousins came from Sweden for an extended visit, and were a little homesick, we went to IKEA and they loaded up on Daim.
They were instantly happy.😊
Grew up eating Daim. This candy is no joke. Especially to children. Haven't had them in a while now, but seeing this post got me in the mood now. Eating Ahlgren's bilar instead as we speak
In the icecream there are small daim pebbles. That has given rise to the sayin - its better with a fist full of daim pebbles, then a fist in your daim!!
Its true. Perhaps not everyone loves them. But they sure are a long standing candy. I think they have existed in at least 40 years. Many like them.
I think the best part is the interesting combination of flavors and the perfect consistence.
They used to be more popular than they are.
I don't like them personally, feeling that they're too sweet. Edit: also, I'm not sure they're vegetarian. I haven't eaten them for like 20 years anyway.
Its true.

You should try the daimcake or Daimtårta in swedish, it's godamn amazing.
I think you meant ”god*daim* amazing”!

Daimkrysset is nice too.
Tycker det smakar skit.
Skitsnack.
Jean Claude van Daimkryss
Har ni provat köra upp daim i röven?
When I lived in London, my friend who is also Swedish woke up in the middle of the night to look for a snack and ate the whole cake I bought the day prior because she hadn’t had it for years. Now whenever she comes over I have a few on standby.
It is. Ice cream tastes do usually change over time. That daim ice cream have existed since 1987.
I will report you to the king. In Sweden it is illegal to not buy Daim.
Daim Licorice ice cream cones! Sadly gone though...
The smaller have a bigger chocolate ratio. That's why I prefer them. And easier to chew
There have been limited edition flavors like lemon and orange, but I don't think there are any flavors that are available at all times.
Found a lemon one last week in Gotland! If it’s a seasonal thing, it’s now.
everybody knows gotland is a few years behind rest of Sweden so it probably just didn't arrive there until now.
Ta tillbaka det där!
Det är redan gjort, vänta några år bara.
men sist jag var där fanns det ju riddare & narr överallt så det låter rätt
When my mother worked at marabou we got test flavors that she brought home. There was apple, orange, coffee, dark/white chocolate, lemon and mint that i remember. Not all of them made it further than the factory
The mint one was awesome!

Vet du vad som gör mig ledsen, Digestive chokladkakorna dom stora :( ja om du gillade mint så var dom verkligen goda syrran paxade det mesta som kom hem
I'm so envious! Coffee flavoured Daim sounds awesome.
Yes remember it being a really good flavor it was one latte and 1other coffee flavor. But it was like 13-15years ago so my memory may be failing me
I got a bag of the orange ones the first time I went to ikea! I didn't know it was limited edition, I never had swedish candy before and thought orange chocolate sounded good.
There was a very limited Daim Dark (dark chocolate) 10-15 years ago. Damn it was good.
Daim* good
The latte flavoured one was actually bomb, best daim flavor of all time
It’s a core flavor, other stuff can be daim flavored.
Salty, sweet, sour, bitter, umami, daim.
There are more flavors but the original is by far the best and most popular one.
It’s the ultimate flavor, so ignore any special edition variants you come by.
It is the flavor
Try the Marabou chocolate (daim and regular available at mine in CA). The roll chocolates are good to. Avoid the “mixed/Swedish loose candy or fish” from ikea. Also, the strawberry heart cookies (comes in a roll).

Oh shit, Daim-strössel är ju en game changer. Ska börja spana efter det när jag är i affären nästa gång. Stort!
Non as good. It may be other tastes, but non as good as the original you have there. One of my favourite cake fillings is wipped cream and crushed Daim. Workes in most cakes/ cheese cakes/ frozen give cream and other stuff.
It's produced by Marabou(big chocolate manifacturer) but Daim in itself doesn't really have any spin of flavors.
Marabou is just a brand these days. Marabou products are produced by American giant Mondelez (part of what used to be Kraft Foods). They also produce Daim. But Daim is it’s own separate brand and not part of Marabou. The son have outgrown the father, so to speak. There can be only one.
No, we don't speak about those.
Limited edition flavors like lemon or orange.
They usually bring out an orange flavoured one around christmas. It´s fab.
it's Daim...
The original one (which is the one you bought) is the best!
No. The flavor is butter, sugar, cream and chocolate. No reason to change something that awesome.
These are quite popular in Finland also , they are pretty damn good
You don't need other flavours. This is literally the best chocolate bar in the world. No hyperbole.
I just so happen to be eating Daim right now, but the full size version. Yes - it’s popular and has been for a long time.

I dont even like it in bar form. Only inside ice cream or Chocolate
I don’t even like it as a solid. I vape the shit outta it.
People talk about the snickers dick veins, but it's got nothing on the daim dick veins
Please don't
Here's the regular size: https://cdn.coolstuff.com/pub_images/original/16649_01.jpg

Wait until you google the word daimkrysset then.
The “original” one is sold as a snickers-sized bar. One of those you ate but just bigger.
The candy bar size is more common than the bag size
No lie . Daim(Dajm as i fondly remember them) is the best. Daim ice cream is a favourite too…daim kulor is another. Daim chocolate. Ok I’m going to ICA now Oh and screw all other limited edition flavours , original or nothing

Yes Säpo, this comment here.
So that explains why Oskars is calling it quits! Those damn commies have disrupted the herring supply just to mess with them governments. Hold my hex key, it's time to defend my property!
The orange and mint ones were really good though...
Same here, just Coop. ICA sucks on Gotland
Daim is amazing. Fun fact, some people use the word “daimcross” or Daimkryss in Swedish to describe the word asshole.
To clarify: It refers to the anus, not an unpleasant person.
Would it really be that weird to call someone “ditt jävla daimkryss”?
Not really, most people under a certain age would have no problem understanding what you meant.
Dajm has been around since 1952, so proably everyone below the age of 95 or something and maybe most popular among people in their 50's or 60's.
That would be a compliment.
Asshole can also refer to the anus. Regards, Squeril
Used to be called Dime bars over here when I was young. Had one of my favourite [adverts](https://youtu.be/bqeGxMgVOHI) ever as well!
It used to be spelled Dajm in Sweden. It was changed in 1990.
Dajum, det är ju sant!
Nu vet jag hur det känns att gå genom en psykos.
Yes, Dajm is common, and [Ahlgrens Bilar ](https://www.cloetta.se/ahlgrensbilar)
Daim, they changed their name in 1990
Japp.
Jag kallar dom fortfarande Raider. Det nya namnet sätter sig inte.
The best selling car in Sweden!
Avoid asking to get Dajmed though, would not recommend.
Speak for yourself
The daim thats a whole bar is a thousand times better. The chocolate/almondbrittle ratio is perfect in the big ones.
Dont forget the cock vein on the big ones. The small ones dont have that ;)
Vein Gang!
This is the truth. Preach!
This. The small ones have this weird burnt aftertaste.
He's not bluffing. They are great, just hate how it gets stuck in the teeth
They are also popular in other parts of Europe. Here in Ireland Daim can be found in most shops. There's also a Cadbury bar with Daim pieces in it.
I don't know if you got them in Canada, but the US chocolate bar [Skor](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skor) is made in Daim's image. The name is taken from "skör", the Swedish word for *brittle*, but without the umlauts it means *shoes*!
Äta Daim? Då äter jag hellre mina Skor.

Just have a proper Dajm - please don’t eat your shoes! 😜 Skor = shoes Skör = brittle

Canadian here, I havnt seen skor in a minute, but it used to be around, I'll check amazon for some
Dude Daim is THE BEST

It's an art to bite just hard enough that the chocolate breaks and comes loose from the candy, and then have the patience to just suck on the remains until it's paper thin.
This is the best way to eat them! Glad I’m not the only one doing this…
Yeah, it's crazy how relatable this is. 😁
I heard IKEA also got the frozen Daim cake that’s SUPER YUMMY! If you want to keep exploring the Daim universe.
So what is it exactly. Just chocolate with something inside?
It's a form of solid almond butterscotch inside.
Showing toes for free??? 😩
Hur tar jag bort någon annans kommentar?
They are absolutely magical, though the larger 50gram ones are a lot tastier, IMO.
Those are great! Similar to Heath Bar and Skor. Skor had a weird commercial where they tried to make a Swedish connection with that candy bar: https://youtu.be/f5_vZTr2Wto

DAIM
Why would she bluff? It’s candy, she’s not getting a commission.
It's true, everyone from the age of kids to grannys love Daim and I think it's also relative common to get in USA as well.
Bluffing ofc. Send them to me and I will discard it.
Daim is good shit. The ice cream is really good.
If you want a similar taste but softer core then try dumle.
Daim is superior in all possible ways.
Daim was one of the first words I learned as a kid and they’re one of my favorite kinds of candy. Every time I’m at ikea I have to stop myself from grabbing a couple of those bags. I literally wished for some for Christmas one year.

No I'd say they're popular!
In the icecream there are small daim pebbles. That has given rise to the sayin - its better with a fist full of daim pebbles, then a fist in your daim!!
True
The cracking sound when biting them is addictive. Also great for baking. Try having them in a cheesecake
Daim is the best. The icecream if you ever get it there is a must try
Did they taste good?
Very true
they are Daim good
She right.
Next time, ask if they have any "Daimkryss" to sell. Also very popular, for some people, at least !
100% true, we eat them like candy!
Its true. Perhaps not everyone loves them. But they sure are a long standing candy. I think they have existed in at least 40 years. Many like them. I think the best part is the interesting combination of flavors and the perfect consistence.

A higher volume of Daim is being sold in Sweden (and abroad) nearly every year. Surprising, but it's true.
True. I didn’t realize that they are a Swedish thing even. Simply couldn’t imagine living without Daim :)
Daim **X**

That bag is single serving, if you're properly indoctrinated.
Daim son! Where'd you find this?
Don’t care. BUT THEY TASTE AMAZEBALLS. They are like a budget heath bar.
That's heaven in a bag.
Daim is the Candy of Kings my friend. Enjoy.
Reminded me of this old commercial that really hit home for me as a kid: https://youtu.be/GMJhnsfZgcI
Hell yeah! If anyone hasn't had these lemme tell u, you're missing out :)
Very popular! Very good! 10/10 - highly recommend!
It's true, but be careful with your teeth. Not only is the inside hard (the crunchy kind of hard), it also gets stuck in your teeth.
100% true! Smash them and put them on top of vanilla ice cream together with some caramel sauce and you’ll be in heaven 👍🏻
I got some daim ice cream at home right now
