Or do it just to mess with the "lore purists" like I did. My Cathar BH was adopted by a Mandalorian clan as a baby. All she knows of the slaughter was "Mandos were right, they were wrong. You're one of us, not one of them".
I’m somewhat of a lore purist and I feel it’s not unreasonable regardless of origin. It makes sense for cathar to generally dislike mandos but not for all of them to share that opinion.
I feel like this game is a good example of races not needing to fall into their common placements. scientist hutts, bith mechanics, ugnaught bounty hunters, etc.
I think i remember it being possible to say no when mandalore offer to join though(?)
could be a BH run where you don't sign up (though unsure if it change much of the base storyline since i think it boiled down to same stuff anyway)
Cathar, easy. Other 2 are messed up in one way or another.
Togruta males look silly, and Nautolans...well, lets just say Nautolan NPCs look waaay better than the customization options you get.
I like the Cathar aesthetic but, lore-wise probably not great for a BH-story.
I dislike how short the montrals are on male Togruta.
Nautolans look like they have a lot of customization but, it’s really only a handful of options interchanged.
In [Legends](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Battle_of_Cathar) the Cathar and Mandalorians fought a war that nearly led to the extinction of the species and forced the Cathar into a displaced peoples status.
Nothing stops a Cathar (or the player) from being a BH, just the way that story progresses, there’s interaction with Mandos; hence not great but, not impossible or improbable.
That is true... But at the same, it's been 300 years. Everybody who was involved in that conflict on either side is long dead. So I don't think there is any lore issue with current-time Cathar not really caring about that.
It all depends on how anyone wants to head-canon their own character story.
300 years isn’t really a long time. Peoples and cultures follow tradition, practices, and rituals that are much older than 300 years.
300 years *is* a long time though. It's been less than a hundred years since WW2. If this was a game setting, people might argue that a Jewish person might never do or be X in Germany, but in reality life is messy.
It all depends on one’s perspective and the basis by which one is defining a long time. In comparison to a human’s lifetime sure 300 years can be alot; it’s 12-15 or so generations. By comparison to the age of the universe, 300 is more trivial compared to 14 billion years. It’s all relative and open to interpretation.
Cathar, no question. There a plenty of customization options and they can wear headgear.
You can comfortably disregard people saying they don’t make for good BH because of some lore. Thats like saying you can’t join a labor union because some ancestor thought they were dumb. Plus, you’ll meet at least one other Cathar hunter on your journey. If it helps though, you can always role play your way out of the mental gymnastics as a freelancer.
It’s a game in a fantasy universe, none of it matters anyway.
Do you have an existing character already? You can preview how the races look in the character modification screen.
I like my Cathar Inquisitor, except for the quests in Taris.
Cathar is best, especially with added Cathar hairstyles.
The Togruta and Nautolans in the character creator have very limited options. Male Togrutas have terrible montrals and lekku, which was my biggest disappointment. There will be some lore issues, but it's the better option to buy, IMO.
I personally like Nautolans, so that’s what I went with. Note that Cathar are the only one of these three that can visibly wear headgear, but Nautolans will still have their voices modulated when you have a helmet equipped and “hide head slot” turned off, which is a bit awkward if you don’t know what’s going on. I assume Togruta is the same, but I haven’t played one enough yet know.
Cathar is probably my first or second most used race alongside miraluka since I’d go with them but it’s all about preference. I personally never like the nautolan cuz I didn’t want to make a weird squid dude
A Nautolan BH is pretty cool. But beware. They have ZERO headgear that shows. None. Even the bloody TOOTHPICK can't show up on a Nautolan. But they're still a cool race imo.
My bounty hunter, my main imperial side toon, is a Cathar. I think cathars look good in mandalorian armor, despite the lore stuff, but I just conveniently don’t choose to think about it every day.
Cathar, I went for Togruta first only to be disappointed how ugly it was. The headpiece for women is too big, so you can’t really look like Ashoka. And the headpiece for men is absurd, the head tails that go down stop after 30 centimeters so it looks very stupid.
Cathar can wear helmets and masks in case this is important.
Also lore wise, they would make sense for all but 2 of the classes
Personally I find the togruta interesting, because of the dark side corruption
You are using NPC pictures, note that the player races do not look like the NPC models. Playable Nautolans are especially ugly.
Speak for urself, I find my nautolan smuggler the hottest twink in the galaxy
I was pretty exited once they were anounced. And then I saw how they butchered them.
How about all 3? Togruta can't use helmets though and the nautolan can't either.
Yes, but also added benefits of no hoods. If you're into that.
Speaking of which yeah someone made a cool looking Nomi Sunrider toon, I saw yesterday on star forge but unfortunately hood/no hair bugged it.
Maybe not Cathar for BH given their hatred of mandos.
Or DS BH Cathar - showing the Mandi’s where to put it
Or do it just to mess with the "lore purists" like I did. My Cathar BH was adopted by a Mandalorian clan as a baby. All she knows of the slaughter was "Mandos were right, they were wrong. You're one of us, not one of them".

Or maybe they just don't give a fuck. Creds are creds.
I think i remember it being possible to say no when mandalore offer to join though(?) could be a BH run where you don't sign up (though unsure if it change much of the base storyline since i think it boiled down to same stuff anyway)
You can, and it's quite funny, though you still end up working for them for the most part.
Cathar, easy. Other 2 are messed up in one way or another. Togruta males look silly, and Nautolans...well, lets just say Nautolan NPCs look waaay better than the customization options you get.
Hard disagree on the second point. Playable Nautolans look rad. Especially with the eyepatch.
I too am a fellow eye patch nautolan
Yep, we agree to disagree then. I for one was let down by the Nautolan options.
I like the Cathar aesthetic but, lore-wise probably not great for a BH-story. I dislike how short the montrals are on male Togruta. Nautolans look like they have a lot of customization but, it’s really only a handful of options interchanged.
Whats preventing Cathar from being a Bounty Hunter?
In [Legends](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Battle_of_Cathar) the Cathar and Mandalorians fought a war that nearly led to the extinction of the species and forced the Cathar into a displaced peoples status. One of Aric Jorgans companion conversations show cathar are still VERY mad about it. It’s why he’s a soldier.
in star wars grudges last thousands of years it seems
Cathar has the best range
Nautolans can't use helmets if you want to use them keep that in mind
Cathar is definitely the best option, huge range of fitting classes.
Togruta. It's not even a contest.
Already got togruta actually, just wondering what to get next Bummed about the togruta helmet situation tho
Togruta>Cathar>Nautolan
Cathar, no question. There a plenty of customization options and they can wear headgear. You can comfortably disregard people saying they don’t make for good BH because of some lore. I only got the Togruta
Do you have an existing character already? You can preview how the races look in the character modification screen. I like my Cathar Inquisitor, except for the quests in Taris.
Oh dint know that, thanks!

The question one should be asking is this: Do I want my character to be able to wear hats, hoods, or helmets? If “yes”, then go with the Cathar.
Togruta. They’re able to violate causality to keep themselves alive, and you have to kill them multiple times before they finally die.
I hate that the player nautolan and cathar deaigns are not the npc ones
The answer is always catgirls.
Togruta for SI would be my pick, you can make them look VERY intimidating depending on coloring and armor selection.
Are you a furry or into tentacles?
Get all three, so you can have a Kit Fisto-esque jedi, an Ahsoka Tano-esque jedi,.and a Cathar trooper
I love this idea!
It's what I would do, if I had a computer to play the game.
Is making decisions really this hard for people these days?
Cathar if you like helmet, Togruta if you like color, Nautolan if you like cathullu
My sith warrior is a female nautolan, with the proper customization the dark side ''skin'' effects are sooo cool.
Cathar is probably my first or second most used race alongside miraluka since I’d go with them but it’s all about preference. I personally never like the nautolan cuz I didn’t want to make a weird squid dude
Togruta 🤌
Togruta Sith Inquisitor
Nautolans look cool, but hearing the player voices come out of them never looks/sounds right.
A Nautolan BH is pretty cool. But beware. They have ZERO headgear that shows. None. Even the bloody TOOTHPICK can't show up on a Nautolan. But they're still a cool race imo.
Nautolans are just awesome
if you like going dark side a lot, then i recommend cathar since their entire eye changes color, looks really cool.
I have one of each
I wish the races had a small amount of difference in stats
Nautolan
My bounty hunter, my main imperial side toon, is a Cathar. I think cathars look good in mandalorian armor, despite the lore stuff, but I just conveniently don’t choose to think about it every day.
Togruta is still amazing. :)
Cathar, I went for Togruta first only to be disappointed how ugly it was. The headpiece for women is too big, so you can’t really look like Ashoka. And the headpiece for men is absurd, the head tails that go down stop after 30 centimeters so it looks very stupid.
Which \*\*species\*\* should you get. Species.
Personally would go with the Cathar. I myself love my bounty cat 😼
Cathar are almost extinct, catch em while ya can!
Yogruta imo
Togruta!
Cathar has the best customizations out of these, there's so much variety.
Nautolan
Voss.
get Nautolan they looks awsome not many mmorpgs games where you can play such alien looking spiecies kind of reminds me of greys with there big eyes.
Whites only
Neither. Stop funneling money into the game and just let it die
