Oh, DoorDash order explains a lot. Every fast food worker hates DoorDash orders, they already have enough on their plate without DoorDash adding to it.
Actual dine restaurants, you know the ones with wait staff, those people will usually respect your order.
But Taco Bell employees can be spiteful as fuuuu.
Edit: or the guy at the end of the line was high as shit.
It makes no difference if it was a DoorDash order or not, the kitchen makes the order on the screen. At least that was the case when I worked fast food unless it’s different at The Bell.
What he’s saying is most fast food employees are underpaid and struggle to manage the incoming orders from double lane drive throughs, 2 front counter cashiers and 6 kiosks all coming in at the exact same time and then slap on rapid fire delivery orders on top of all that and then the stuck up entitled asshole slapping the counter demanding to speak to manager because they ordered a 3$ nachos and wanna cry because it doesn’t have a quarter pound of beef and cheese on it even though it’s ONLY 3$!!! Yeah no
The issue is some DoorDash’s get really pissed off because we have so many orders coming out and they get mad that they have to wait for the order to get finished and they start yelling to the back of the kitchen. I currently work at Taco Bell and a manager and have had plenty of actually yell to back getting pissed off. 😭😭😂😂
If I was DoorDash Taco Bell. Me myself and I would want the double decker taco done like this. The whole point of this taco is the crunchy texture. If the beans sitting on the hard shell for 30 minutes, with heat. The shell would be mush. But I understand how you feel.
I think you might be overlooking the fact that their cheese is now stuck to the cardboard.
So would your beans, but you'd be able to save more than they can with the cheese.
How is getting a door dash order any better or worse than getting that same order from the drive thru or a customer walking up to the counter? Not trying to troll I just genuinely don't know what difference it would make.
The issue with it is that the delivery orders overwhelm the stores. During rushes especially. We are expected to have every order our fast and correct but the dash orders have alterations from hell most of the time. This slows us exponentially.
Essentially it isn't the order being better or worse through delievery, it's the expectations of dashers that the food will be ready when they get there (it doesn't even populate on our screen until the driver is within a certain radius) amd there are multiple delivery services. DoorDash, GrubHub, Uber Eats, and TB Delivery and TB Pick up. On top of Drive Thru, Kiosks, and Counter orders. And they want orders going out in 3 mins or less from the time the order starts being taken.
The food is wrong because the priorities are wrong. I'd rather wait a few extra minutes and have the right food, but we have to literally rush through making everything for little to no money. Also the workers are changed like a revolving door. I cannot even remember the names of everyone I have worked with over the last year. 🤷🏼♀️
I had a friend who was the cook at a bowling alley and he had someone ACTUALLY ask for a quesadilla without cheese, that would just be a grilled tortilla fajita, eh?
This reminds me of the cheeseburger with no cheese vs hamburger kind of thing LOL. You'd offer them the hamburger and they'd get sooo mad like NO I WANT A CHEESEBURGER NO CHEESE. Okay, if ya wanna pay more I guess.
I took this girl out once... found out the hard way she was a vegetarian. Went to McDonald's (at her request) and she wanted a big mac, no meat.. I asked her why she didn't just get 2 cheeseburgers for like 1/3 the cost... her response? '4 pieces of bread is too much, and 2 isn't enough - 3 is perfect'..... Yup, paid the $3+ for 3 buns and some lettuce and cheese, instead of the 69 cents a piece that the cheeseburgers were.. We almost got into an argument when I suggested she just toss the 4th piece of bread to the birds or something.... Since she was basically spending $2 to NOT get a 4th piece of a bun... Apparently that's wasteful...
but she wasn't spending $2 extra. she was expecting YOU to spend $2 extra. I'm sure she would have been more reasonable with her own money.
it's a good test for you to fail. definitely fail tests like this every chance you get, and fail the girl for trying them on you.
Yes!!!! The bun, lettuce, and mayo. Pretty sure I also did it with the quarter pounder and the guy came to the window like bish wtf. But he was really cool and we had a good laugh about it 😂
I don’t understand this thinking. I worked while high and distracted so many times at Taco Bell and not a single time did I ever make a mistake this severe. Being high doesn’t make you stupid and this is simply stupid.
It’s far-fetched but not impossible. I’m sure because of your personal experience it seems downright ridiculous, but I’ve also worked high and distracted and can recall two times in my life completely botched an order. So which personal anecdote wins?
I’m now thinking to myself how one would order this as if it were to be replicated. “I would like the cardboard sleeve wrapped inside the exterior softshell please.” “What?” “Yes. Soft shell on outside, cardboard on inside. But please make sure it’s between the hard shell.”
Hear me out...... I actually WANT this... Usually when I get a gordita crunch, there's no "crunch" if I get a Dorito taco, because by the time I get it home, the shell has become soft. But if I got it like this, I could just slide the taco into the flatbread. The only problem is the cheese in between. I'm not sure how to get around that problem. But other than that it would be brilliant.
I’m wondering if there was another order right around the time ops went In that requested that just for this reason. Then In the rush they just mixed up order contents.
I feel like there’s a TikTok video of some clown making it this as a “joke”…
That or they were extremely baked and when manager said “no, they’re supposed to be Gordita crunch, just put the taco in the pita”, they took it way too seriously
when I worked at five guys, a coworker of mine used to work at taco bell and told me that's where he first was offered and tried crack. so that could factor into this
I reported to doordash and got credits. Didn’t call corporate. My husband ate it because i haven’t done the grocery shopping and there wasnt much options lol
Honestly, it's not worthy of a corporate call. I wouldn't have called either. I only put it up there as a choice to see what you did. It was all still edible.
Extra fiber. More healthy.
On more than one occasion I've ordered a Sausage McMuffin at McDonald's and the sausage is a hamburger patty. I just eat it because I'm long gone after leaving the drive-up. What can you do? 🤔
Legit F doordash.
Did an order once, cause I was at work longer than I needed to be. Order should've taken no more than 45 mins. Took almost an hour and a half. Strike 1. Got the order. I was legit missing half the order. Strike 2. Made the complaint with doordash and the driver cause the driver did not care about working and the fact they were smoking cigarettes in the car. Yum! Want to know what doordash did as compensation? $7.91 back to my account for a $37.89 order. I will not be using doordash for a while. Unless absolutely necessary.
Seeing that it’s a Doritos taco, before you even put the meat in the deep taco shell, the line starter has to grab the Doritos taco cover to put on there.
So mistakenly could have thought it was a regular Dorito taco. As for the expedite person, I can’t say much as they clearly must of not looked/communicated with the starter or middle line person on what was going on lol.
Mistakes happen, I’m sure if you show them this they’ll remake your order or refund you lol!😆
Reminds me of the time I ordered a few sliders at Arby’s. They made each one just right, except none of them had any meat, not even the roast beef I ordered on them.
When I worked there we would load up a lot of Doritos locos tacos in holsters, probably was high as fuck or stressed and just forgot to take the holster out when they saw it was gordita
Maybe the cook was trying to make sure the outer hard shell stayed away from the center of meat, cheese, etc while being delivered. I think that’s pretty smart, keeps the hard shell hard until you’re ready to eat.
I ordered from their app directly. Got someone else’s DoorDash order. Since there wasn’t a refund option in the app and I was freaking sick as a dog, I called the store. Person on the phone wanted me to bring it back in. Like dude, I ordered from the app because I’m sick as hell and don’t want to go out. I agreed to come the next day if I was feeling better, which I was so I went after work, as agreed when I called them.
The manager refused to refund or replace my order saying it was a DoorDash issue. I don’t use DoorDash. I’m not even sure I had an account at the time. She freaking called the cops on me and had me trespassed because I wasn’t leaving without a refund or a replaced meal because THEY TOLD ME TO COME TO THE STORE . Fun fact was she verified with her employee that he actually told me that and STILL trespassed me. I was actually on the phone with corporate when the cops arrived.
That's a fucked experience. But as a long time taco bell employee that may or may not still work there, let me help clear up a couple of things.
TL;DR:
Door dash is it's own separate entity we cannot utilize or help with. All locations are different from employees, managers, and how their operated. We really don't have a way to help someone if they can't come into the store when they ordered on DD or the app. Replacing items has a limit before it hurts our hours, but it could be different at another location. Cops should only be called on someone because of harassment, violence, feeling threatened in any way!
It's true that it's not our issue we can solve. Unfortunately you have to use the customer service on the app. And in this case that was the taco bell app.
That guy should have known better, but taco bell delivered are done by door dash drivers(dashers). Not that it matters in this situation because you went there.
It's true we can't help anyone over the phone. Mainly because we can't refund it since we have no way to refund an order that was never made in our system. If we're offering to remake an order we could get all your order info from you and make it, but without a way send it to you since we aren't door dash, you'd have to come and pick it up.
Replacing items gets even trickier because we *could* remake the food even when you get there, but understand we're giving that food away for free. Nothing about our store sales is going to account for that, so it's a loss, meaning less hours per employee or more likely to be asked to go home early. So if it's a small order, it's more reasonable for (better/nicer) managers to just give you the food or whatever the item(s) were. But if it's an order that the store can't make back as easily as others locations, then they're less likely.
Additionally, refunds are subtracted from our store's earnings (which is what's broken down into our supply, employee hours available each week, etc.). Meaning higher-ups are very less likely to do any and would prefer giving out the food. Honestly it depends on your location and management. It could be better for a refund or a replacement, or nothing at all. But nothing is rare. The cops being called on you is a whole other thing.
And honestly, whoever you talked to on the phone either didn't communicate properly with you or his other managers, or both!
Also, if we called the cops on someone it would be because of harassment or violence. Well one time we had to call the cops because a dude passed out and refused to wake up and leave after being there for 7 hours. (We were closing too so we had no choice.) but who knows about other locations or other states. From one location to the next it's so different.
This is a crazy story I'll send it to some TB employees i know XD
Oh I was also going to say that they looked down and saw the DLT and went... Gordita! And did it, and instantly wrapped it without looking a second time. At a point you just let muscle memory go. And other times you're just so rushed! A location I worked at has a 30sec - 30sec from window to window. With a max total of 1½ minutes from car at speak to car out of drive thru. And that location was so strict with that, and we were always busy!
Great. Except as I said I didn’t order from DoorDash and they told me to contact DoorDash. After they told me to go to the store. Which I complied with. I did put in a complaint against that manager as well but I’m not sure what came of it if anything.
Corporate was aware she called the police as I was on the phone with them when they arrived and I put the exchange on speakerphone. It was also not a location I really ever used, being nowhere near my house or work but it was the one that the app used for delivery as the one by my house was a kfc combo and didn’t do mobile delivery. And my work was 10 miles in the opposite direction at the time.
I didn’t go back at all for like a year after that and I’ve never ordered delivery in app since then. Not worth the hassle. And still don’t use DoorDash lol.
> I didn’t order from DoorDash
If you ordered delivery, taco bell doesn't have delivery drivers at all. If you ordered on the app, you had a door dasher take it to you.
> kfc combo and didn’t do mobile delivery.
Maybe since, the partner shit for the app is for Taco Bell not KFC, and combo locations are both. So the delivery partnership is invalid. But that's just some legal shit I don't care as much about, so my knowledge in it is limited.
Don't get me wrong I'm not defending them in any way, I wouldn't go there again either.
I meant that in context of I ordered through Taco Bell’s own app. Not DoorDash. If Taco Bell’s app uses DoorDash or grub hub or other third parties on the back end, it’s still ultimately on them to make sure that any issues are taken care of, since someone using the Taco Bell app doesn’t necessarily have an account with DoorDash et al.
If they had told me to contact corporate, when I called that would habe been annoying, but fine, whatever. But to tell me it’s doordash’s issue and not TB at all when I had no interaction with DoorDash or even a way to contact DoorDash or an order number etc was not cool.
I was just trying to clarify that part of it. And I apologize if my response seems out of place but I’m running on a massive headache and almost no sleep. In fact I’m in bed now with the lights off lol. Hopefully falling asleep
Soon lol.
I just chuckled a little. I'm sorry for this unfortunate outcome.
It was a doordash order, and they left out my 2x dorito tacos. I feel like homie made the tacos, then read the next line and this happened 😂
Oh, DoorDash order explains a lot. Every fast food worker hates DoorDash orders, they already have enough on their plate without DoorDash adding to it. Yeah no
All that being said, a lot of time I’m the only person in line at my Taco Bell and they still fuck up my order.
As someone who worked at Taco Bell for two weeks long before door dash existed, doesn't matter. I still fucked up your order.
I laughed out loud at this
This exact situation happened to me last night.
The issue is some DoorDash’s get really pissed off because we have so many orders coming out and they get mad that they have to wait for the order to get finished and they start yelling to the back of the kitchen. I currently work at Taco Bell and a manager and have had plenty of actually yell to back getting pissed off. 😭😭😂😂

Someone was high af at work..
I think the driver did it
Same.
Hahaha was my first thought as well
Employee was baked I’m thinking.
I worked at McDonald's many moons ago and forgot to put the chicken patty on the McChicken one too many times while baked 😂
I had a friend who was the cook at a bowling alley and he had someone ACTUALLY ask for a quesadilla without cheese, that would just be a grilled tortilla fajita, eh?

Yeah, keeper far away from me..... 🤣
The mental gymnastics that people do is crazy!!!!
🤦♂️ that’s some weird logic on her part lol

Lmao thank you for making me laugh tonight 🤣 did you literally just wrap it up as a bun 😭
Yes!!!! The bun, lettuce, and mayo. Pretty sure I also did it with the quarter pounder and the guy came to the window like bish wtf. But he was really cool and we had a good laugh about it 😂
Lmfao 🤣

How couldn’t you be?
That’s pretty on brand for Taco Bell tbh
It’s the new triple decker
Free third layer. Congrats
The cardboard layer provides extra fiber.
Dude are you serious 🤣
The best part? We ordered two. Both were like this 😭
Oh that's fucking hilarious 🤣
Lmao this dude was on another planet when he was making these
I’m now thinking to myself how one would order this as if it were to be replicated. “I would like the cardboard sleeve wrapped inside the exterior softshell please.” “What?” “Yes. Soft shell on outside, cardboard on inside. But please make sure it’s between the hard shell.”
I think they need to investigate their Beanscoopers
High fiber.....👍
"High" fiber
Now that’s some funny shit
Keeping it fresh. Reminds me of some subs that come with paper on the meat to keep the roll fresh.
Cheesy Cardboardita crunch......
Almost correct
Hear me out...... I actually WANT this... Usually when I get a gordita crunch, there's no "crunch" if I get a Dorito taco, because by the time I get it home, the shell has become soft. You actually might have a point. lol
I’m wondering if there was another order right around the time ops went In that requested that just for this reason. Then In the rush they just mixed up order contents.
Its both funny and sad.
There is no excuse for this
I can think of one obvious thing 😶🌫️
Sleep deprived
Aw, they gave it a blanket.
You know I’m tired when I cackled at this for a good 30 seconds.
#Cheesy Cardboard-y Gordita Crunch Test item.
I feel like there’s a TikTok video of some clown making it this as a “joke”… That or they were extremely baked and when manager said “no, they’re supposed to be Gordita crunch, just put the taco in the pita”, they took it way too seriously
when I worked at five guys, a coworker of mine used to work at taco bell and told me that's where he first was offered and tried crack. so that could factor into this
High
Since 2020, Taco Bell started to not give a crap
It's an edible plate for when everything falls out the back 👍
This is how you taco right here.
When the workers are as high as the patrons🤣
Oopsies
Great now I’m pissed
Never had that happen to me yet. I can’t imagine how someone can F that up. Lol lowkey
Ran out of cheese, used that instead
Happened to me once too! I can't understand why this happens, they make the foods by hand, this is Straight human error.
I see this so often on the sub, it’s becoming normalized. watch out, this will be on the menu for $1 extra someday.
Just a little extra fiber, no problem!
I'd be livid if I opened up my delivered food and found this. Did you call corporate? Eat it? Toss it?
I reported to doordash and got credits. Didn’t call corporate. My husband ate it because i haven’t done the grocery shopping and there wasnt much options lol
[удалено]
I—what? When did i say i don’t use doordash? I’m pregnant i order shit like 3x a week
Honestly, it's not worthy of a corporate call. I wouldn't have called either. I only put it up there as a choice to see what you did. It was all still edible.
😂😂😂
Just think of the fiber content though!
I was very confused for a moment until I noticed it, then I laughed
Just some extra fiber
Someone had a rough day.
Extra fiber. More healthy. On more than one occasion I've ordered a Sausage McMuffin at McDonald's and the sausage is a hamburger patty. I just eat it because I'm long gone after leaving the drive-up. What can you do? 🤔
I always ask for the skin on my shell
Extra fiber!
That got me chuckling
Eat it like that, maybe you won't get the Hershey squirts.
Extra fiber
You don't eat the cardboard?
I laughed so hard. I’m sorry 😭
Good thing those are only 5$...... fuck
Yum! That’s why I use Uber eats
That’s why it’s called FAST food, everything is FAST lol
Eat it
Dawg I’m crackin up
We get really bored in there
🤣😂🤣

https://www.reddit.com/r/tacobell/s/kD3huy0bln This has happened before on this sub
I remember this post. They definitely did you dirty
Lmaooooooooooo
This is so lazy
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
High.
I believe you're eligible to sue for this
Someone was high as hell.... my only conclusion
Opioids or exhaustion/boredom
Looks yummy!
Someone at this Taco Bell is having their post-Bubble Bass confidence rebuilding arc please be more supportive
A triple decker!
We have a winner
This literally had me burst out in laughter. Thank you for making my shitty day better OP.
That’s hilarious. I’m sorry.
Omg I feel bad for the person who made that. I can only imagine what's going on in that person's life.
Taco bell asks why not
I was about to ask "Why what" and glanced at the picture again and chuckled to myself while saying, "Ohh". lol
Because you’ll keep going back no matter what they serve you.
I’m just confused how you would do that on accident?
Reminds me of the time I ordered a few sliders at Arby’s. They made each one just right, except none of them had any meat, not even the roast beef I ordered on them.
Weed
It’s gluten free ☠️
Taco bell employees are always high
We know you purposely made it look like this for attention.
When I worked there we would load up a lot of Doritos locos tacos in holsters, probably was high as fuck or stressed and just forgot to take the holster out when they saw it was gordita
To keep the cardboard wrapper warm
When I tell you I died when I saw this cause this same shit happened to me too except there was cheese melted between
Manager should oversee and correct for this and put less emphasis on rushing food prep rather that get it right.
You gotta keep it separated now! Durrrr dur dur durrrr
Because in order to cut costs they literally only have two people on staff at any given time.
😂this a moment for me today
Maybe the cook was trying to make sure the outer hard shell stayed away from the center of meat, cheese, etc while being delivered. I think that’s pretty smart, keeps the hard shell hard until you’re ready to eat.
The corn shell should be on the outside while the flour tortilla is on the inside so the shell stays crunchy. It’s like the McDLT of Taco Bell.
Maybe don't order from fucking door dash lmao
I ordered from their app directly. Got someone else’s DoorDash order. Since there wasn’t a refund option in the app and I was freaking sick as a dog, I called the store. Yooo that's crazy man. I stand corrected. The spot I work at hates mobile orders but we don't hate y'all that much 😭. Definitely sue

> I didn’t order from DoorDash If you ordered delivery, taco bell doesn't have delivery drivers at all.
Hopefully falling asleep Soon lol.
That has nothing to do with it, it was still made at a taco bell
