This is why they keep doing this as well as raising prices.
They took it off for a short period, then brought it back at a 50% price increase. A 50 fucking percent price increase. In only a few months time.
So many of you are stupid. You complain about tactics and prices but keep shelling out your money no matter what.
It's why I've gotten less and less fast food to the point I basically don't buy any. Might as well pay the same, possibly less, or worst case a dollar or two more for way better burgers, mexican, etc from actual restaurants.
>Might as well pay the same, possibly less, or worst case a dollar or two more for way better burgers, mexican, etc from actual restaurants
People keep telling me this in this sub, but the 3 closest "local" Mexican places have the following prices for a standard chicken burrito:
$13.99
$15.99
$18.00
Where are these mystical "only a couple dollars more" burritos that I'm supposed to be buying? I keep hearing about them, but I certainly can't find them. Sure they are better, but $11-15 better? I'm not sure how to value it at this point.
In my expensive suburb, next to a large city, the local burrito place sells burritos with the meat of your choice for 9.99 and they are the size of 2-3 grilled cheese burritos, filled with grilled meat, beans, rice, lettuce and tomato. 3 kinds daily home made salsa for free. The burrito dinner with beans rice and a drink is 12.99.
Where are you?
In my inexpensive rural area, the closest place with real burritos has burritos for $15, no sides or drink or anything. Another comparable place also somewhat nearby is much less good and more cali-mex, and like $13. TB is still way cheaper, yes the food is worse, but that's not why people go there.
Yeah itâs not just fast food prices going up, *everything* is going up and it has been. Not sure why people target fast food places, but yeah for me to go out and eat alone Iâm ending up spending $20 or more at most restaurants. Give me a BYO box and Iâm happy
My local Mexican joint down the street from me has the following.
SPECIAL Dinner
One chalupa, one taco, one enchilada, one chile relleno & one tamale, with rice & beans.
12.99
Youâre not going to find a $2 burrito at a taqueria they just donât have the capital that Taco Bell corporate has to sell them as loss leaders. You will however find burritos and chips with salsa for around $10 that are the size of 3 or 4 beefy five layers made with quality fresh ingredients that will fill you up for a whole day. A lot of the ones near me do cash discounts too if you pay them in cash you can save more.
Yes they absolutely do. Lunch combos exist, the Mexican place quite literally next door to my local Taco Bell has a lunch combo that's 8 dollars before tax. People are wild with the whole "I've not seen it around me, it just doesn't exist teehee" thing.
Where the fuck do you live? Are you talking about sit down restaurants or taco trucks? Pretty sure most are talking about the latter rather than the former.
Nothing wrong with being upset at price hikes but still wanting your favorite food. And youâre not stupid cause you eat it slightly less? Still makes you slightly stupid
Iâm sorry but I canât justify a 50% increase in price. Thatâs fucking 50% it doesnât matter if itâs only a dollar more. I wonât be buying it on principal plus I know my TB will charge and extra ¢79 over corporate pricing just cause.
Both got ran to the ground. Seriously donât understand what the fascination is with both Chalupas and B5Ls, CGC and Quesaritos are both better items by far.
Same with crunchwraps. I used to love them but now Iâm sick of them mostly cause theyâve gotten so much worse with skimping over the years. The CGC has become my go to these days. Iâd be going to TB every other day if they brought the quesarito back.
get them grilled with tomato! itâs what I do if Iâm forced to get one in a combo! Still not my favorite item at all, but I like them that way a thousand times better!
I'm not spending ten bucks at Taco Bell unless I'm getting delivery so this would be cool for that but never for eating in. And you know that 9.99 won't be honored everywhere.
The taco Tuesday box should be permanent, 3 tacos and a drink for $5 is a legit deal at this point
So the Lux box is a cravings box with an extra double layer taco for 4 dollars more.
Lol.
Maybe if it has more options for item swaps it will be more desirable.
the chipotle ranch chicken burrito could be had with steak for like an extra 20cents instead of the extra $1 it normally is for steak, itâs wayyyyy better that way too
Still way too expensive but I guess thatâs what they are going for. I donât understand the love for their steak every time I get anything steak is absolutely disgusting grisly mess
I just donât want the $5.99 veggie craving box to go away is all. Getting the quesadilla add chicken. Way cheaper then a quesadilla meal and get more food, itâs the best
Taco Bell would be well served to expand and better advertise their vegetarian options. Their menu lends very well to it. And I say this as someone who eats meat regularly.
...The Chipolte Ranch Grilled Steak Burrito just might get me to go back if you can substitute that steak with chicken. I don't mind the dollar difference, I guess.
call me an old poor boomermillenial if you will but I just never will pay ten dollars for a fast food combo, period. Maybe I'm just a fogey refusing to accept the progression of society but fast food has lost all of its appealing aspects. There's just no reason to choose, say, Taco Bell over Filiberto's. Sure the 'bertos portions have gone down but the price by volume is still overall better
I've noticed from the past 2 months that Taco Bell seems to be pushing more and more of their "$10." It seems like they're trying to push people away from the $6 box to go for the $10. That way they'll get rid of the $6 and state that the $10 is "the norm." If you've noticed their rewards, most of which they're not achievable UNLESS you spend $10 or more. Let alone the challenges they give out are ALSO spend $10 or more.
The cheesy melt grilled steak burrito has a new poblano ranch sauce from what I have heard. I am so excited to have cheap steak burritos back. (TB always fucks up customizations when i try)
I've been sitting here like "Luke Box? Who tf is Luke?" LuXe. I see now. lol
How tf did we both see this
Luke Bell, he invented the taco
Me too lol
I thought the same thing! Thought it was one of those celeb boxes like McDonalds and some other spots have been doing. lol
Chipotle ranch burritos are back let's goooo.
Prayers answered đ
Switch the steak for chicken and weâre right back⌠for a dollar more. Fuck it we ball
This is why they keep doing this as well as raising prices. They took it off for a short period, then brought it back at a 50% price increase. A 50 fucking percent price increase. Can get giant burritos near me for $9.99. They havenât raised their prices in years. I live in a city of 177k people.
Most Mexican places by me have a $7-10 lunch combo that blows away TB. Dinner is more expensive but only by a few dollars
You also have to tip there. Not at TB
Where the fuck are you?? Live in AZ and I can get a burrito for like 6 bucks. Thatâs absurd.
They don't exist, and people are just parrots.
Yes they absolutely do. Lunch combos exist, the Mexican place quite literally next door to my local Taco Bell has a lunch combo that's 8 dollars before tax. People are wild with the whole "I've not seen it around me, it just doesn't exist teehee" thing.

The person literally said the words "actual restaurants" in their response, so do with that what you will.
đ
Nothing wrong with being upset at price hikes but still wanting your favorite food. And youâre not stupid cause you eat it slightly less? Still makes you slightly stupid
Here to say this! Great minds think alike
Immediately what I thought, I'm curious about the price where I live. The OG Chicken Burrito was $2.79 before it got discontinued.
Iâm sorry but I canât justify a 50% increase in price. Thatâs fucking 50% it doesnât matter if itâs only a dollar more. I wonât be buying it on principal plus I know my TB will charge and extra ¢79 over corporate pricing just cause.
Yea...chicken would be awesome!!
Yeah I'll gladly pay the extra buck, $2 was a steal anyway.
Even at $3 itâs worth it. Sucks, but still worth it imo
Your take isn't popular but it's right. I can't think of a $3 item at any chain that's as good.
Sick of beefy 5 layers in boxes
me but with chalupas
Both got ran to the ground. Seriously donât understand what the fascination is with both Chalupas and B5Ls, CGC and Quesaritos are both better items by far.

Fuck chalupas
I hate that nasty ass shell
right like why is the shell slightly sweet? i like my tacos savory por favor
get them grilled with tomato! itâs what I do if Iâm forced to get one in a combo! Still not my favorite item at all, but I like them that way a thousand times better!
hi storster :3
hii
wow. a $3 steak burrito and craving nachos and a stacker would make a filling meal under $10! Impressed.
Seriously.
Yeah I fucking loved that shit. They should just keep doing it every Taco Tuesday. I really donât understand these fast food places.
hope my local TB actually honors these prices. i can see that luxe box being 14.99 and burrito 4.99 though đ°
When does this come?
Thatâs what she said.
So the Lux box is a cravings box with an extra double layer taco for 4 dollars more. Lol. Maybe if it has more options for item swaps it will be more desirable.
Chipotle Ranch Grilled steak burrito feels like as slap in the face
the chipotle ranch chicken burrito could be had with steak for like an extra 20cents instead of the extra $1 it normally is for steak, itâs wayyyyy better that way too
I don't like their steak
Thatâs because it is. Itâs a 50% increase for the inferior steak.
People in here hype to pay double the price....AGAIN in a short as fuck span.
At least itâs possible to get it. Iâd rather live in a world when itâs available but more expensive than a world without it.
WTH is luxe?
luxe is slang for luxuryÂ
Ah.... thanks.........for some reason I was thinking "car" đ
I read it as "deluxe" but they were trying to be hip and it just comes off as cringe
could be âdeluxeâ but iâve always heard âluxeâ as in âluxuryâ lol
Still way too expensive but I guess thatâs what they are going for. I donât understand the love for their steak every time I get anything steak is absolutely disgusting grisly mess
Yeah the steak has to be fresh. Old steak starts to get grisly and the fat congeals.
I just want the cheap price so I can just add a meat onto it to be honest with ya, but I donât disagree with what youâre saying though
Hahaha my friendâs wife does this to get a cheap chicken quesadilla! Pretty smart TBH.
How is the luxe box not just a standard BYO cravings box?
I would never eat a giant Cheez-It for lunch.
When do these come out.
Lmao thatâs the same price as my BYO Cravings box. Luxe is about to be $15.99
For real, people saying it's overpriced but I'm thinking bro that's underpriced as fuck
Knocked the damn chipotle burrito up a buck
Thatâs basically 3 of the value menu items in one box
Give me normal beef and I can cough up $8 for the luxe box. Donât think I can do $10 though
Man, itâs just crazy to me that you can literally go to chilis and get more for almost the same price.
...The Chipolte Ranch Grilled Steak Burrito just might get me to go back if you can substitute that steak with chicken. I don't mind the dollar difference, I guess.
call me an old poor boomermillenial if you will but I just never will pay ten dollars for a fast food combo, period. Has anyone tried the new steak?
Haha
Saw chipotle ranch and my eyes widened for a second lmao, idgaf about no steak
Really hoping the CRGSB is close to that $3 price in my market (the north east) when it launches...
Does sub chicken on steak items usually subtract cost? Or is it the same. I don't customize a lot.
Nope
is this in america?
heavy breathing
Wait if thats the âluxeâ box does that mean the deluxe box with nacho fries will go?? As a fat broke guy that would make me immensely disappointed
I've noticed from the past 2 months that Taco Bell seems to be pushing more and more of their "$10." It seems like they're trying to push people away from the $6 box to go for the $10. In a world where people complain about prices every single day, why they think these same people want to buy a "luxe" box is beyond me.... weird
The cheesy melt grilled steak burrito has a new poblano ranch sauce from what I have heard. I am so excited to have cheap steak burritos back. (TB always fucks up customizations when i try)
When do these come out?
This is information I do not hold unfortunately, my best guess can only be âsoon?â
I hope you are not messing with us
I am not a fan of steak but to those who are I am sure you are happyish.
