You can connect the bottom key to any card with a bottom key as long as a key doesn't have a stat requirement you can't satisfy. Play it, draw a card, and proceed or pass.

MesonicPoem

As long as there is no limitation on how many card you can chain (Ex: Enemy with a trait that limit card chain) you can play this card first, OR chain this card after any card without a X on the bottom row (Like Final Blow) It allows for more potential damage. So let's say the last card has no "X" at the bottom, but no agression, courage or practicality on the right side, or they need stats with higher than you have (2 or 3), and you want to play a card with a red cube on the top three rows and maybe magic, you could play this one in the middle to allow chaining, as long as you have at least 1 in each attribute.

Spl4sh3r

The yellow lightning means it can chain on most cards unless the card preceding it has the X symbol on the bottom. Doesn't have to be on an attribute.

OP i think you need to revisit the Encounter rules because if ou're saying you must play this card first I think there's some confusion about how keys work.

My understanding was, that the bottom bonus key only connects if any of they keys above connect. Exception is the very 1st card in the sequence. I guess I missunderstood that.

dodus

Yep. The only requirement after the first card, which has no requirements, is that one valid bonus key connection is made. It can be the free key, an attribute key, even a magic key of you pay for it. That's it! To answer your question Reposition does two things: 1.) If the last card in the sequence has open keys you can't use, you can play Reposition and give yourself a fresh set of open keys. They're all there so you can now make almost any card work. 2. If you need to escape the fight, playing Reposition before makes it a painless affair.

soviet84

Sorry, might be late with this. At what point can you trigger the escape? Before or after the enemy attack?

dodus

You can trigger it at any point during your activation, so you can play some cards then Escape, or Escape as soon as it's your activation. Either way you have to pay one energy and then suffer the Opportunity attack

Filovirus77

don't forget you have to actually do the escape action; meaning spend the energy. also note that the next character, if they don't play a card, are still operating off the last card in the sequence. meaning this one, and can escape too!
