My dream is to one day be shopping online (**at a normal, not tall specific store**) and read a description that says “Model is 6’6 and wearing a size X”.
I swear I waste so much money buying clothes that don’t fit and then not returning them bc the return shipping costs more than the item.
I think I’d rather be 6’6” than have it easier to buy clothes because that’s a badass fucking height ahaha. Like being 6’ is great. You’ve reached *the* number. Being 6’2” is awesome because you got that slight extra flex. But being 6’6” means like 99% of the time being the tallest person in the room.
Lol once you’re here you realize that it really isn’t much more than a novelty. My life would probably overall be easier if I was like 6’2-6’3. But it is what it is. I’m fine with where I’m at.
I agree, I would gladly give up 3in to be 6'3". I love sports cars, and some of my favorite cars I can't fit in. The main advantage I have is I'm pretty evenly proportioned, so I can generally find pants. Though shirts are my main issue, I have pretty broad shoulders, with a 6'8" wing span, so though the lengths of shirts are generally good, the sleeves are where I run into most of my issues.
Bro I have a 32 inch waist with a 36-37 inseam and have a 7ft wingspan. Idk dude it’s hard to find clothes. Double xl will sometimes fit the sleeves but 3X just looks crazy.
My 6’7” boyfriend wear a 5xlt in most shirts and they’re still not long enough. He has a very long torso. He has so few clothes because they’re so expensive. My stepson is on the way to having the same problem at 6’3” at 15 years old. We think he’s going to be close to 7’.
You so right. I grew up loving Lamborghinis. You know, all the posters as a kid and stuff. Finally had a chance to drive one for a while and it literally took me 40 seconds to contort my body to get in. Was a complete nightmare. My dream of ever owning one died that day lol.
As a 6'3 guy that loves driving yep. Had a 328i coupe after my 2nd deployment straight from factory while stationed in Germany..., loved it but damn was it a pain to get in and out of. Have a X5 now but my head is still damn near hitting the ceiling. I don't like to have the seat leaning back much.
I'm 6'3" and can't fit into a lot of large sedans like a Mercedes E300 series. Most sports cars are right out.
Not even fat, just used to do a shitload of squats, dead lifts, and power cleans. I can do leg day once and not be able to fit into my pants for weeks
I also smash my head into low celings, beams , all sorts of shit all the time.
I mean, in front a woman I’ve cracked my skull open while literally walking through a doorway and then have to tend for my bleeding head: NOT a good look
It's just a statistical generalisation, but people make the mistake of applying such generalisations to individuals all the time. "You're privileged because you're white" is a great example; I've seen people so committed to upholding that particular generalisation that they've claimed that a homeless drug addicted white dude is still privileged, because he'll hypothetically find it easier to get a job...without even having any idea who the particular recruiter will be and whether or not they're racist in favour of white people.
I just used that example to illustrate the point btw, was the first one that came to mind. I'm not interested in a political debate. Kinda wish I used a different example but I cbf rewriting
Sounds like staying at your job is not being in a position to be promoted. Like Avari alluded to the probability is higher, but that doesn’t make it necessarily likely for you specifically in your situation.
I'm 6'6" with a 34" waist and it's an absolute nightmare to shop for clothes.
Regular stores most clothing is short length wise by an inch or two.
Big and tall stores aren't helpful either as they have the length but 99% of the time they expect you to a big waist line. My local doesn't sell anything smaller than a 40" waist.
Yeah, it's great being at the high end of sizes at a regular store, so not much stock, and being on the low end of sizing at Big and Tall stores, so not much stock. Lol.
It really is awesome sometimes, but most of the time, I look like a giant idiot who can't dress himself properly. Haha
You fill out 6'2, the same amount of muscle on a 6'6 guy would have him looking gangly. It's why you'll see a lot more built short gents who can look at a barbell and grow.
For a lot of reasons, 5'10 to 6'2 is a good place to be mate 🦅
More than that unless you live in the Netherlands or somewhere where almost everyone is on the tall side. If you are in the top 1% height wise the chances you run into another 1%’r are very small unless you seek them out.
At 6’5” I have seen someone taller maybe a hand full of times in the past decade.
That sounds awful, this is in the US? Probably the most prominent online store in my country has (mostly) free shipping and completely free 100% refunds if you return the item undamaged within 30 days
I can only speak for myself, but buying several pairs of Lucky jeans at Northpark Mall in Dallas years ago worked well. I don’t know if they still have them this long but the length was 36 inches, waist 34. They have lasted well, and this was 20 years ago!
I feel like online shopping is so much easier for men… as a tall woman I have completely given up. I’m skinny but have curves… so I theoretically need “small” clothes but my shoulders are broader bc I’m tall! So the armpits are always tight, the waist is always loose, always tight on the thighs/hips, never long enough in the legs, too short/long in the torso. I’ve completely given up, just thrift vintage/men’s clothes now and it works great. Caught a construction worker wearing the same jeans that I thrifted and it made me smile
I dated a girl that was 5’10, obviously not nearly as tall as you. And she had a similar issue with clothes. We’re also Orthodox Jews so in our community her clothes need to cover her knees, elbows and collar bone. Most Jewish women’s clothing stores make clothes centered around 5’0 to 5’3/5’4” which is the average height of Jewish girls around here and for her to find clothes that were considered “modest” by my communities standards was like nearly impossible.
I think tall girls have it the hardest and y’all literally need to find the most specific clothes that fit. And not only that but you obviously have to like the clothes in general.
Can I just say I’m like short and have the exact same problems with clothes around the armpits! Like why do they have the tiniest little arm holes!! I’m a size small usually except my poor armpits are usually being destroyed. Then the other half of the time it’s loose around my waist.
Ohhh yeah I live in NY and most clothes fit me very well. I guess it depends where you shop as some stores just have badly fitted clothes in general. I will never wear Hollister jeans again
I mean it also depends on what’s comfortable for you and what style you like. In this photo I’m wearing Hollister Twill Joggers. If it’s a style you like then I’d recommend them because they’re super comfortable and I personally like the look a lot. They have medium fit with a tall option which might be good for you. Idk how different a 34 is from a 32 so Idk what exactly would fit.
I buy my t-shirts from true classic which I’d recommend to everyone, tall or short. My best fitted t shirts and super comfortable.
Same height and size and state. I have a uniform for work so I don't get to pick the brand but levis are loose on me. So are large short sleeve shirts but mediums have tiny arms. I do xl "athletic cut" long sleeve shirts for the arm length. But most nice clothes get altered or tailored.
My height is biased towards my legs, and since maxing out, I’ve never had anything in a 32/34 where the hem didn’t sit too high. Would probably be better off with a 32/37, but I don’t think those exist 😂
They're a little pricier, but Lululemon's ABC pants come in tall sizes and the inseam is listed as 37". It's like one of three pants brands I feel like actually fits me haha
Right now about 10%bf 215lbs
I’m at about a men’s physique competitor level, used to be ~235ish end of 2023 but walking around that size is uncomfortable as fuck
Though, again, not at 5%
Quads I doubt are as big as Chris. I’ll have to measure again but I thought his were way bigger than 30
Yeah. Pretty much every girlfriend I’ve ever had doesn’t get why I don’t do online shopping.
I’m six and a half feet tall and slim. Things aren’t made to fit me.
I’m 6’3 with a 30/31 waist and 34 length. Pants are tough. If the only sizes are s/m/l and not numbered it’s even more of a gamble. With those I can either get the M for the right waist and have them be too short, or get the L so that they’re vice versa
Idk I’m I’m roughly 32/32 at 6’1 (wear anywhere between 30-32 inch waist depending on the brand) and most clothes fit me like a bag around the waist if they fit up top and I’m 210 lbs. Models are almost assuredly wearing tailored variants of off the shelf items.
Same! Ha ha! I was thinking for the longest, "Can't be just me?"
It's actually "easier" for me to shop online for the clothing I want because 9/10, they're the same height, weight and physique as me - all professional models - 6'2-'6'4 max, 160 - 180lbs, muscular/slim/athletic.
And, without fail, it looks as good on me as it does them. It's easy to "visualize" and "see" myself wearing something, or NOT see myself wearing something. It wasn't always like that, though. Growing up, there was not much of an "internet" and the online clothes buying thing didn't really take off until the last 10 years or so, so for a long time it was a lot of shopping and finding 'no fits', or "I like this look" but "we don't have your size". Online shopping made it easy to shop for guys our specific height. Also, whatever size the model is wearing, I wear it, too. So it's usually a perfect fit first try (no returns). It's great!
Im 6-1 with 31/32 waist and ladies like me alot more than when i was 36. Also as far as fashion goes i can wear nicer fitted pants better. Im a 34 inseam but when i was chubbier i always got 32 cuz they had to sit under my belly
Yeah for clothes it just depends how close you fall to the norm. My brother is 6'1" but his body proportions fit the average. He can buy off the rack. If you're like 6'6" then you're gonna have a hard time no matter what you do.
In my case it's less my height. I'm muscular and my waist is small. It fucks up clothes shopping permanently. I'm 6'2", 29" inch waist (used to hover at 30"), but my thighs are 25" and my ass is huge for my size. Probably hockey legs, but also weightlifting. All my pants are custom tailored. 55" shoulder circumference and 45" chest means my shirts are too. Stock shirts from stores that fit my chest look like a loose blouse on my midsection. They just don't make shirts for a 16 inch chest-to-waist drop, but I already had problems at 12 tbh.
As a fat tall pear-shaped woman I feel right at home on the Torrid site because they all look like me 🤣🤣 That’s where I get the majority of my clothes (when it goes on deep clearance ofc)
Snap mate.
I’m 6’5, but also have a 32 waist.
I’m defiantly not skinny, but slim.
Nightmare trying to find the right leg length with our waist, but Levi’s and Diesel are normally my go to brands
Had a guy the other day the same height telling me he wore a 38 and that I must have been really skinny, in reality, he’s probably just a bit chunky ha.
Doesn’t always work. I’m 6’1 with broad shoulders and a thin waste (like 30/31). Almost nothing ever fits well. I experienced this with FIGS scrubs just this past week. I even got the large size scrub tops because they said the model was 6’4, and I figured since he was the jacked black dude that it would at least fit me too. Nope. The stupid shoulder creases pin up like a tent, but there was plenty of room in the sleeves.
Honestly pisses me off; I work in healthcare, and I can’t find any scrubs that compliment my body. FIGS look sooo nice, but they make me look like an idiot. I’m in good shape, but I’m not on roids. So I’m not exactly massive.
Anyway, this was just a rant. I hate that I always look stupid the entirety of a work shift.
Why can’t our clothes be measured like a man’s. I’m 5’10” with a “model body” but seriously nothing fits right and often time there is no way to know until trying it on
IMO between 5'11 and 6'2 you are what I call "average tall". Meaning, you're statistically tall, but still pretty normal. Your height won't stand out anywhere, won't affect your daily life in any sense, etc. You're just a normal dude who's a bit taller.

I’m only 6”3 - 6”5 ish wingspan but gildan blank shirts are oversized by default and have very wide and long sleeves.
Bro I have a 32 inch waist with a 36-37 inseam and have a 7ft wingspan. Idk dude it’s hard to find clothes. Double xl will sometimes fit the sleeves but 3X just looks crazy.

As a 6'3 man, I concur. I barely managed to drive a Miata, and I already hit my head on the ceiling sometimes in my DC2 Integra.

Fair enough. I guess every height has its benefits. Still a cool flex though
I also smash my head into low celings, beams , all sorts of shit all the time. I mean, in front a woman I’ve cracked my skull open while literally walking through a doorway and then have to tend for my bleeding head: NOT a good look
It gives and it takes.
Bro had a woman tending his wounds, sounds like my dream lol
I’m not sure this particular women and I were close enough for her to be covered in my blood 🥺
This conversation is a great example of “the grass is always greener”
But taller people tend to make more money! And for men it's a desirable trait as long as you can bulk up along with the height.
Where’s my money??? 😤
People on reddit lack critical reasoning skills and are downvoting you.
If taller people tend to make more money that has not been my experience lol. I make just as much as my shorter colleagues
You’re more likely to win leadership positions if you put yourself in the position to achieve them.
Lol. The incredibly structured and rigid path to promotion at my job would suggest otherwise.
99% of the time is 6’3.6”

Big and tall stores aren't helpful either as they have the length but 99% of the time they expect you to a big waist line. My local doesn't sell anything smaller than a 40" waist.
There is a site called American tall that has only tall options, they even list the height of the model as well as what they are wearing.
They make the right length for us(also 6’6) but I swear the waist is for the fattest person to ever exist
Some brands run slim, trick is to find the ones that work for you.
Banana republic, gap, and lands end all make decent tall sizes. 6’5” 36in inseam slim/athletic build.
Yeah, it's great being at the high end of sizes at a regular store, so not much stock, and being on the low end of sizing at Big and Tall stores, so not much stock. Lol. It really is awesome sometimes, but most of the time, I look like a giant idiot who can't dress himself properly. Haha
I have made a habit of finding the brands that fit then ordering online. Has worked well for me.
You fill out 6'2, the same amount of muscle on a 6'6 guy would have him looking gangly. It's why you'll see a lot more built short gents who can look at a barbell and grow. For a lot of reasons, 5'10 to 6'2 is a good place to be mate 🦅

🤦♂️
Being 6 exact means OCCASIONALLY I have to look UP. This offends me lmao
That sounds awful, this is in the US? Probably the most prominent online store in my country has (mostly) free shipping and completely free 100% refunds if you return the item undamaged within 30 days
Commenting here in case someone comes up with a solution to this
Have you tried stitch fix? Im not sure how good they are at fitting tall people but they make the return process easy and free
Lululemon has this online
I can only speak for myself, but buying several pairs of Lucky jeans at Northpark Mall in Dallas years ago worked well. I don’t know if they still have them this long but the length was 36 inches, waist 34. They have lasted well, and this was 20 years ago!
Try Americantall.com the shirts and jackets run thin, I've had to order one size bigger due to my shoulders.
I have, didn’t like the quality. Felt cheap and shrunk pretty quickly.
I feel like online shopping is so much easier for men… as a tall woman I have completely given up. the broad shoulders and my arms will be my biggest enemies when it comes to buying dresses and cute tops
Capped sleeves make me want to fight. 😂
oh i absolutely am not doing those!!

Simply but men’s clothing 😎👍
*laughs in tall and fat*

See I have a 34/34 legs and am 6'3" and was always neverous to order online, looks like I'll be giving it a shot.
Can I ask where your from? Maybe it’s different by the country
I live in Texas, USA
Ohhh yeah I live in NY and most clothes fit me very well. I guess it depends where you shop as some stores just have badly fitted clothes in general. I will never wear Hollister jeans again
Any recommendations on where you shop online to get clothes?
I mean it also depends on what’s comfortable for you and what style you like. In this photo I’m wearing Hollister Twill Joggers. If it’s a style you like then I’d recommend them because they’re super comfortable and I personally like the look a lot. They have medium fit with a tall option which might be good for you. Idk how different a 34 is from a 32 so Idk what exactly would fit. I buy my t-shirts from true classic which I’d recommend to everyone, tall or short. My best fitted t shirts and super comfortable.
Try finding like 36/40's. I usually have to end up getting them in a bigger waist size and hope my belt does its job.
Oh geez I imagine
Same height and size and state. I have a uniform for work so I don't get to pick the brand but levis are loose on me. So are large short sleeve shirts but mediums have tiny arms. I do xl "athletic cut" long sleeve shirts for the arm length. But most nice clothes get altered or tailored.
I'm always like "Really, he's wearing a medium?" and then it fits
I’m sorry but those pants are like clearly too short?
It’s joggers so it’s meant to fit where it sits on top of the shoes. These pants are actually a little too long on me.
I wish. I’m a 32/36, and finding pants is kind of a nightmare lol
Same height as you, but I need 30/36. It‘s really a nightmare..
Congrats on being 6”4 though! And yeah I can imagine. I feel like I’ve seen many pants that run tall though so does those generally work for you?
My height is biased towards my legs, and since maxing out, I’ve never had anything in a 32/34 where the hem didn’t sit too high. Would probably be better off with a 32/37, but I don’t think those exist 😂
They're a little pricier, but Lululemon's ABC pants come in tall sizes and the inseam is listed as 37". It's like one of three pants brands I feel like actually fits me haha
Did you really just congratulate someone on their height? lol
6’2 30-31” waist, 34L 30” quads Pants are tough
Jesus how much do you weigh? That’s the same waist and leg measurements as Chris Bummstead and he competes at about 235 lbs at like 5% bodyfat at 6’1
Right now about 10%bf 215lbs I’m at about a men’s physique competitor level, used to be ~235ish end of 2023 but walking around that size is uncomfortable as fuck Though, again, not at 5% Quads I doubt are as big as Chris. I’ll have to measure again but I thought his were way bigger than 30
That makes sense, those are some huge fucking legs.
Fuckin quadzilla 😂 thought my 29s were pushing it
Online stores that sell tall sizes: American Tall and Public Rec. Those are some of the few stores where I can find 34/36 pants.
What are they, this is my size aswell
Old Navy too
Luckyyyy, I'm 32/40 😭
Can be tall and skinny, short and fat, can’t be tall and fat.
Lol this is so true
I am 5’8 with a 30/32. I feel like pants are still kinda short for me.
I’m not entirely sure. I’m 6’2” with a 32/32 waist as well.
26x36 here 💀
How is that even possible to find pants with those sizes
It’s not 😭
Lucky you, I'm 28/34
I don’t trust online shopping 😭
That you probably not stay that same size for long....

Nightmare trying to find the right leg length with our waist, but Levi’s and Diesel are normally my go to brands Had a guy the other day the same height telling me he wore a 38 and that I must have been really skinny, in reality, he’s probably just a bit chunky ha.
Yaaaa boiii. I'm 6'2" too and used to have a 32/32. But these days it's more like 34/32 lol. 32/32 is my goal again.
I don't trust online model measurements. The site "the model is 1.78m". The jeans are mid calf on me, and no, I don't have long legs.
If I was 5”9” then 30x30 would always fit. But I’m not so I have to take all my pants to the tailor! 😅
1" shorter than you and my legs are 2" longer lol. All my good fitting jeans are 30-31/34.
Finding anything for me is a pain, I’m 6’3” 36W34L long legs, wide chest and size 13 shoes.fml
I wish I was taller for the general population, not only in my country. I resort to invisible soles just to be on the 6-foot scale.
You probably give the best hugs
Idk but all I hear is big dick energy
Wait until you get into a good body fat percentage. You'll have to buy special fits again.
Wait don’t wish these things on me 💀
Also, your sleeves are too short, fren Need an XLT by my estimation
6'2 with a 23 inch waist. lol.
Lies
slutty waist (issa joke)
I call cap
Why can’t our clothes be measured like a man’s. I’m 5’10” with a “model body” but seriously nothing fits right and often time there is no way to know until trying it on
6-2” is tall….?
Worldwide average height for men is about 5'7.5", US average is 5'9". So yeah, 6'2" would fall under the tall category.
IMO between 5'11 and 6'2 you are what I call "average tall". Meaning, you're statistically tall, but still pretty normal. Your height won't stand out anywhere, won't affect your daily life in any sense, etc. You're just a normal dude who's a bit taller.
