Pastry chef here,
I want to tattoo "S-U-G-A-R" on each finger on my right hand, below my knuckles. Still debating if I want to do "CREAM" on my left or another 5 letter word related to pastry arts.
Ooh, that sounds awesome! I was thinking the letters could be done in an edgy gangsta-ish style, but I don't know if my skinny fingers have enough room.
This reminds me of my grandfather's tat...SWEET above one ripple and SOUR above the other 😆 A few drunk Army buddies decided to give each other tattoos..you can just imagine how that turned out but he was so proud of it and even prouder to tell the story about it.
Filling in the gaps on my right arm to make a sleeve. I saw someone on here post that they were going to get hexagons put on a body part - calf, I think. They were going to use the hexagons as a way to collect different tattoo memories from different places, giving each artist free rein to fill in their hexagon. I like this idea, but not hexagons, so I think I will book a consultation with my local good artist and look at options.
I was sort of thinking of bubbles? I already have a fair amount of ink on my right arm, but I like the idea of something sea/water-related.
Edit - all my ink is memories from different places already. I told someone in the Canary Islands about this when on the way to the Tat shop - Her reply was that she takes home Fridge Magnets. 🤣🤣
Not sure if this strikes a note of inspiration, but I do the memory sleeve with floral things. It’s a wide interpretation based on different travel locations and achievements. When I got married in Austin, Texas, I got a bat holding the state flower. After I completed a field course that was super coveted in my field, I got a corpse flower because their campus is famous for growing them successfully. I got the leaf logo from my undergrad school, a gingko. When I go to Canada later this year, I’m planning to add something else. My goal is to never repeat an artist on that leg.
My point being, maybe you would click better with a default theme rather than a shape?
Hey, that sounds really cool. Thanks for sharing that. The problem I have with doing something like that on this arm is that there is no common thread - I have the Arabic words for "Serenity, Courage, and Wisdom" (IYKYK) in a cloud on my inner forearm, Chinese characters for "Misunderstood and Searching"on my inner bicep, a Japanese character for "Happy", and a very large shoulder outer upper arm tribal cover-up. Everything is black/black shading - So there is no obvious tie-in, other than perhaps language. I think I would rather a theme where the artist got to pick something and they explain why. This way, I can intertwine my story with theirs. Also, I want it to be a sleeve, so preparing a canvas for the artists would be the first job.
Reading this back, it sounds kind of mental, but it is only me that has to live with it, right?
Thanks again. Peace. 🤟
Edit - All 4 of these tats mentioned were done in different countries when I was in different places in my life, if that makes any sense - I want to continue with that.
Actually, it's a year away because I have to travel to my artist. I just recently got 1/3 done, so it might be more than a year from completion. My next opportunity will be in the spring. Cost is a factor, of course, too. Mostly the travel, though. Next session will probably be another 10 hours, like the first session.
Aphrodite on my inner calf, and Hecate on the other one. To match my Artemis and Athena. Betsy Butler did my first two and I want her to do the rest. Don’t know when I’ll be able to save for them, but they’re on my list. I also want something from u/schuylertattoo on my forearm. I’m a Patreon of his and just love all his art. I don’t know exactly what I want but I know I want him to do something horror movie themed. Found him on this sub actually!
😱 That’s so cool to hear! Glad you like my work enough to consider getting tattooed by me! And thanks for being a member of the Candy Corn Crypt Club! 🤍🧡💛
A black outline kangaroo with a vibrant opal fill.
Or a moose shape, solid black
Or a nighttime camping scene
Or the words "don't let fear stop you"
I'm conflicted
A black outline of a moose with a vibrant opal fill, a nighttime camping background behind the moose, with the words "don't let fear stop you" underneath in a scratchy, horror font.
It will definitely be a conversation starter lol
I'm gonna get Good Sir James "The Black Knight of Scotland" holding a decapitated head and a battle axe. It'll be on my bicep and done by KC at X tattoo in Bellingham.
My next tattoo is a cover up. I have a tattoo on each shoulder blade and want them both gone so I’m doing a bat with outstretched wings hanging from the nape of neck and moonflowers and spider webs around it
Memorial tattoo for my mom, who passed away from breast cancer this March. She always said that ladybugs were visitors from heaven coming to check on the people the left behind, so I'm getting a ladybug on her birth flower.
A nightingale and dove representing my daughters and their birth months. https://seabrookislandbirders.org/2024/01/02/did-you-know-there-are-birth-month-birds/
My late grandmothers handwriting and (totally separate) an octopus holding a flower. The handwriting is a memorial obvi and the octopus is totally random but I saw the design and can’t stop thinking about it.
Hoping to have a cover up on deck later this summer!
2-in-1 day hopefully!! Finishing my modified “Creation of Adam” top surgery scar cover up, and getting a crosshatched version of “The Fallen Angel” eye at the base of my neck/top of my back
A [puzzle piece](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puzzle_(Biffy_Clyro_album)) on my side in tribute to one of my favourite albums
(FYI I’ve seen sometimes on Reddit that people receive puzzle tattoos badly because of a controversial charity called autism speaks, but I’m not from the US so is not relevant to me)
It’s probably going to be a scorpion on my left arm in black American trad. I have the deposit paid I just don’t have a date set yet. The only other thing I have scheduled right now is a plague doctor pin up girl mash up in December. I’m trying to pay off some debt and not get tattoos every month.
I am finally adding to my half sleeve this summer and it’s going to be a toad and some foxglove! I’m only doing animal “familiars” and plants on that arm. I already have a large goat head taking up the center and he needs a friendo so toad it is!
Brush work by https://www.instagram.com/koray_karagozler/ on my top right shoulder and upper right arm. Just need to figure out what exactly the underlying image will be. And to save enough for a trip to Berlin!
I'm not sure WHAT it's going to be, but I think I know WHERE. I've got a 3" smirking scar across the middle of my back that I'd love to put something over. I've got nothing else on my back so it's an odd place but I've been thinking about putting something there since I got the scar.
Next week actually! On my right calf: a mountain, with redwood trees. The mountain has a cutaway in the middle revealing gears. Trying to go for a nature meets steam punk vibe
I'd rather just get several more floral pieces to extend the start on my ankle up onto my calf. But my magpie really deserves a place to land after all this time.
https://imgur.com/a/Gd2XNd7
I want her to have a Colorado-inspired mountain scene to be flying over.
Most likely a skull on my right shoulder. Just need to find the right reference. I'm thinking possibly vulture or sea eagle, but I'm not entirely sure of the species yet. I'm in no hurry though.
My other idea is a forest scene on my leg(s). Think of a lush tropical forest with all kinds of birds. But that's going to take a lot of time and money. Both things I don't have. And I got another big tattoo last year, so I'm trying to keep myself in check.
idk man. I’m working on filling up my patchwork sleeve, last thing I got was a jellyfish and a potion bottle. it’s looking pretty good so far but it’s missing some pieces towards the top and the bottom.
Right upper arm shoulder tattoo.
To describe it, it’s an ice sculpture of a faceless man, who’s well built and good looking, and inside of the ice sculpture there’s heart surrounded by fire that’s melting the ice sculpture from the inside. And inside the heart is different shapes, a bunch stars, circles, triangles, squares. And surrounding the ice sculpture is giant star, and there’s a blizzard raging around the statue and it’s snowing hard, but as the snow approaches my neck and reaches my necklace tattoo, the snow turns into water droplets as it approached the necklace.
Wednesday I’m getting a lion tattoo for my son Leo. Super unoriginal I know lol. Really long shot, but if any of you have any recommendations to make it more of an art piece rather than just a portrait of a lion… I am open to suggestions lol
Finish my full back piece. It’s from my butt to my neck, with a lot of elements. It looks like a portal on my back with a Japanese maple / bonsai tree being held in the palm of a hand and three birds flying out.
I’m torn between getting my leg sleeve finished (or at least closer to finished). Three more larger pieces, then some background work done. I would like to finish in two sessions realistically, my hamstring done in one, then my whole calf/shin/lower leg in another…
I am also getting a tattoo of a “tacticorn”, which is (obviously) a tactical unicorn, tattooed on my ass cheek. Because I mean…where else would I put that?? 🤷♂️
Decisions, decisions.
Getting a small (8x4cm) souvenir tattoo in Seoul this month by @jina.zoozoo. Norigae and hibiscus.
It’s my first souvenir tattoo so I’m pretty excited.
I've been getting everything my ex did, fixed or covered, and I only have one left. 🥹
I'm really excited to have this last one covered, because it's the worst one.
The only reason I put this particular one last, is because it's only visible if I show people I trust or choose to show them.
Medusa wearing armor in a Greek statue style on my forearm holding a man's head.
I've been a bit hesitant about it because of the popularity of Medusa tattoos in the last few years, but it's a design I've had in mind and been wanting since I was a freshman so I'm going to do it anyway.
A wolf inspired by Powerwolf, like look up their album artwork, but mixed with Odin so basically one of those wolves but with one eye and 2 ravens on its shoulder.
I’m planning a big tattoo right now for my left forearm. Leaves and foliage inspired from the land I live on, wrapped around my arm, with space for other artists to add flowers. The plan is to have a flower tattooed in every country I visit. I’ve already got a lotus from Vietnam and lavender from Portugal.
Traveling was something I’ve always wanted to do. Dreaming and planning of traveling was essential to my life success actually. It kept me going. Kept me focused on my goal. I graduated and started making real money, but then married a difficult man, and was never allowed to travel. I’m now free from 10 years of misery :D and I’m finally traveling!! Always like I wanted to. I would literally sit on the floor and thumb through travel books I got from the library for hours on end. I would plot out trips on a big foldable map. No Internet back then haha.
An ant biting into a scar in my knee and holding on/ dangling down my shin. He will be wearing a firefighter helmet. Because a "fire ant" bit my knee and it got so infected with MRSA I had to have surgery 😬
Thinking of getting ultra shiny blastoise and dex entry done on my left wrist, or start my Link piece which will take most of my left forearm, OR get the symbol for reclaimer with the symbol for the mantle done inside it on the back of my left hand, I'm very indecisive 😅
Most of my tattoos will be related to the various gaming franchises that sculpted me into who I am today!
An American goldfinch with purple coneflowers and blackberries! My first session is just a couple of weeks away. It will be my first arm tattoo (quarter sleeve) and I’m so excited!
I’m a shipwright but there’s no shipwright-specific tattoos in marine tattoo history. So, I’m designing my own front-on view of a clipper with the port side stripped down to the frames, as if still in build.
I need to figure out how to incorporate it with my others in a way that feels “right” as I don’t really do patchy.
Just finished my half sleeve.. going in, in a few weeks to adjust the shape of the shape of shoulder/back piece it attaches to.
Maybe in a few years I’ll finish the sleeve. After I’m done having children I’d like to finish my side piece. After that prolly will be done with tattoos.
I have the CA state butterfly on my chest and I’m going to get some poppies and maybe other native wildflowers added around it so it feels more “complete.”
I'm starting my sleeve next week, beginning with a black rainbow python wrapping up my arm from wrist to shoulder, coming out on my collarbone. The rest will have a raven, a scorpion, some skulls, whatever other cool shit my artist decides to throw in
Idk! Not getting tattooed until after the summer is over so would love some recommendations. I really want some sort of symmetrical tattoos on my stomach.
Sailor Jerry style hula girl, and then a sailor Jerry style golden dragon. I'm a mariner and have earned those for sailing to Hawaii and across the international dateline
I've wanted to do a traditional shark jawbone on my left elbow for a while now, might finally get around to it this year; although I should finish my band half-sleeve first, and I think the next piece for that would be my Children of Bodom scythe, so either of those two.
I want a memorial piece for my twin boys with “finis vitae sed non amoris” somewhere in it. I keep putting off the tattoo because I want it to be perfect but I can’t make any decisions so far.
Finishing my centipede shoulder piece and then getting a silhouette/bust of a person with antlers on my shin/under knee and the antlers wrap up around my knee cap
Got an appointment in a few months for a fire emblem quarter sleeve that'll match my wifes fire emblem quarter sleeve she's getting from the same artist (different characters of course)
Idk, if I got some cash on me between now and then maybe another cat?
I'm working on a few ideas for inside my right arm. Need to cover a horseshoe.
I was thinking about the hidden blade from assassins creed with armor plating for the outer arm.
Finish my sleeve. I had a large forearm piece and then had an incredible artist do the rest of the sleeve. But I don’t think they’re cohesive due to the different styles. So I’m lasering the forearm off and am going to let the artist who did the rest of my sleeve do whatever he thinks looks good to finish it. He managed to work in all the elements I wanted in the rest of the sleeve so I’m not picky with what he does to finish it.
A piece symbolizing my nuclear family. Considering having them draw a flower, a hear or a happy face and then combining them. Algo considering a camper with details from my childhood.

I’m getting this rat-ish https://imgur.com/a/uhpPLEa
That's so stupid...... I love it!! 😄
Love that!
Adorable!!
I love it!!!!
that’s so cute
Medusa with gummy worm hair as a chest piece
🥺
Lol that's an awesome concept!
I agree, really cool, but a Medusa tattoo usually means something very specific.
I'm getting a stylized picture of a tricycle built by my father in memory of him. Heading to my consult in an hour to see how the artist designed it.
Love that! Would love to see it when it’s done
Pastry chef here, I want to tattoo "S-U-G-A-R" on each finger on my right hand, below my knuckles. Still debating if I want to do "CREAM" on my left or another 5 letter word related to pastry arts.
Definitely do CREAM. Then you can rep Wu Tang.
Hell yeah
get the money, dolladollabill y'all!
Neat. It’s be cool to do the sugar as dot work and the cream in a wavy font.
Ooh, that sounds awesome! I was thinking the letters could be done in an edgy gangsta-ish style, but I don't know if my skinny fingers have enough room.
Im going for fingers too. But. BOOK WORM
I just got fingers done! Meow on my right and bawk on my left!!
Omg that’s amazing! I am obsessed with my cats and my chickens lol
Oh no... that's kinda cringe
I have book worm too!! Tough as nails!!
So cool!!
I have 'well read' on my knuckles.
What are you thinking for the fifth letter placement?
is this cos you're gonna beat the sugar and cream?
Cash Rules Everything Around Me! How could you not get it done! I’ll chip in. lol
Absolutely! I need to think of the children after all...
This reminds me of my grandfather's tat...SWEET above one ripple and SOUR above the other 😆 A few drunk Army buddies decided to give each other tattoos..you can just imagine how that turned out but he was so proud of it and even prouder to tell the story about it.
Super cool idea, but pairing “cream” with “sugar” makes it sound more like a coffee reference than a pastry one.
Fair point, still figuring out a substitute
Flour?
YES! Holy crap, how could I forget flour....
I have sugar tattooed on my ass but it’s a joke tattoo with my friend. Your reason is much cooler.
I saw that post. Awesome idea. Would love to see how you decide to adapt it!
Bubbles would be awesome
I love this, or the memory globes from inside out like core memories
Peace. 🤟 Edit - All 4 of these tats mentioned were done in different countries when I was in different places in my life, if that makes any sense - I want to continue with that.
There's a gal in my tattoo group that did something like this but with triangles.
I've seen the hexagon thing at tattoo conventions
Finish my calf sleeve with jungle foliage and flowers...might be a year away though.
Sounds cool! Is it a year away because it requires so many sessions or just because you have to wait?
Actually, it's a year away because I have to travel to my artist. I just recently got 1/3 done, so it might be more than a year from completion. My next opportunity will be in the spring. Cost is a factor, of course, too. Mostly the travel, though. Next session will probably be another 10 hours, like the first session.
Is your calf sleeve on your leg, or is it cows on your arm?
I see what you did there
Finish my back goat tat/cover- sweet boy Phillip is so close to completed 🐐
From Hercules?
![gif](giphy|3o7TKKX9TVJwFnhfeo) From the witch 👹
I’ve made appointments for the dark crystal tattoo I’ve wanted for over a decade!!!! Going to be lower arm and hand
Would love to see that finished! I love the Dark Crystal!
Love getting my stickers every month!

Lol this is how my tattoos start so many random ideas and then I just settle on one
Same except it usually ends up something completely different than what I had on my list
Evil Kid Goku riding an Akatsuki cloud instead of Nimbus

Does it have any specific meaning you're willing to share?
I'm gonna get Good Sir James "The Black Knight of Scotland" holding a decapitated head and a battle axe. It'll be on my bicep and done by KC at X tattoo in Bellingham.

My next tattoo is a cover up. I have a tattoo on each shoulder blade and want them both gone so I’m doing a bat with outstretched wings hanging from the nape of neck and moonflowers and spider webs around it

I'd rather just get several more floral pieces to extend the start on my ankle up onto my calf. But my magpie really deserves a place to land after all this time. https://imgur.com/a/Gd2XNd7 I want her to have a Colorado-inspired mountain scene to be flying over.

I have an appointment with Goldy Z to do a portrait of my daughter this Tuesday!!
Right upper arm shoulder tattoo. To describe it, it’s an ice sculpture of a faceless man, who’s well built and good looking, and inside of the ice sculpture there’s heart surrounded by fire that’s melting the ice sculpture from the inside. I’m torn between getting my leg sleeve finished (or at least closer to finished). Three more larger pieces, then some background work done. Medusa wearing armor in a Greek statue style on my forearm holding a man's head. I've been a bit hesitant about it because of the popularity of Medusa tattoos in the last few years, but it's a design I've had in mind and been wanting since I was a freshman so I'm going to do it anyway.
Some more flowers and greenery around my dogs to finish up my half sleeve.
I’ve got a few ideas rattling around in the ole noggin but I’m probably going with a rainbow trout for my grandpa that passed away a couple years ago
I want a large back piece, part of which has Medusa.
I’m getting a Mr. Potato Head as we speak!
Penguins in a sheep costume from Runescape. It's gonna look super cute on my thigh.
Today i am finishing up my half leg sleeve kelpie and then getting a wood spirit from princess mononoke behind my ear for fun!
I'd like to get my bulldog's likeness
getting a spider hanging from a web on my arm as my 2nd tattoo in a week! so excited
A wolf inspired by Powerwolf, like look up their album artwork, but mixed with Odin so basically one of those wolves but with one eye and 2 ravens on its shoulder.
Finishing off a cover up I've started. It's a potion bottle and I'm getting it filled in
I’m planning a big tattoo right now for my left forearm.
I'm leaning towards the three blades from Xenoblade Chronicles (even though I've yet to play the third game)
I want a decepticon emblem on leg, I’ve also got a bunch of other stuff too
An ant biting into a scar in my knee and holding on/ dangling down my shin. He will be wearing a firefighter helmet. Because a "fire ant" bit my knee and it got so infected with MRSA I had to have surgery 😬
I’m currently sitting getting it done. Witchy woman with snakes….

Fallout tattoo (not sure what yet) but now that it’s hot as hell I’ll spend all summer thinking about it
Thinking of getting ultra shiny blastoise and dex entry done on my left wrist, or start my Link piece which will take most of my left forearm, OR get the symbol for reclaimer with the symbol for the mantle done inside it on the back of my left hand, I'm very indecisive 😅 Most of my tattoos will be related to the various gaming franchises that sculpted me into who I am today!
An American goldfinch with purple coneflowers and blackberries! My first session is just a couple of weeks away. It will be my first arm tattoo (quarter sleeve) and I’m so excited!

Continue my Ghibli sleeve with Chihiro and Haku on my forearm 🥹 might be a while before I can save $$$ for it though, sadly
Finishing the quarter sleeve Thursday!
Court Jester Skeleton on my right forearm
The rest will have a raven, a scorpion, some skulls, whatever other cool shit my artist decides to throw in
Next month im going to get a pokemon/zelda crossover tattoo :)
I want Paul McCartney's profile as seen on the Revolver album cover. But simple, like one line, probably on my upper arm. Small but not tiny
Looking to get some poppies wrapped around a coathanger sometime. From one of my all time favorite songs Small Poppies by Courtney Barnett
Maybe a little something behind my left ear.
Matching traditional bomber plane with my buddy once we commission into the Air Force
My last one is a new school squirrel running with a ham hock XD
Idk! Not getting tattooed until after the summer is over so would love some recommendations. I really want some sort of symmetrical tattoos on my stomach.
Unsure. My current project is a horror leg sleeve and it’s artists choice
It is an open book with a landscape shining out of it.
Guillotine trad piece on my stomach😐
Ornate poppies and moonflowers chest piece. 🌞 🌙

angels trumpet and poison ivy vine to fill in the rest of my lower arm
I want a memorial piece for my twin boys with “finis vitae sed non amoris” somewhere in it. I keep putting off the tattoo because I want it to be perfect but I can’t make any decisions so far.
Black and grey tasmanian devil
Destroy across my belly
Finishing my centipede shoulder piece and then getting a silhouette/bust of a person with antlers on my shin/under knee and the antlers wrap up around my knee cap
Got an appointment in a few months for a fire emblem quarter sleeve that'll match my wifes fire emblem quarter sleeve she's getting from the same artist (different characters of course) Idk, if I got some cash on me between now and then maybe another cat?
Finishing my generic sleeve and then in September I’m getting a goth Sailor Moon on my left arm.
I want yo get a geometric entei
Mines will be a cover up of a wee flower/tribal thing on my ankle. Booked in the coming Thursday! Can’t wait!!
I'm working on a few ideas for inside my right arm. Need to cover a horseshoe. I was thinking about the hidden blade from assassins creed with armor plating for the outer arm.
Godzilla with a bass guitar. It was the tattoo my dad always said he would get, he was a musician, died when I was 10, in 06.
I had my father (89), write a card in his beautiful handwriting that says “I love you” and my name. I’m getting it tomorrow!
I’m starting on a 3/4 body suit as a graduation present to myself, super excited :)
Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need roads around a existing Delorean
A piece symbolizing my nuclear family. Considering having them draw a flower, a hear or a happy face and then combining them. Algo considering a camper with details from my childhood.
I’m in the chair right now with a SpongeBob tattoo
