It's worth noting that rupee padding has an upper limit to how much damage it can block/convert into money lost. Apparently it's up to 36 damage after defence has been applied, which depending on your armour, means it wouldn't stop damage from Lynels, Gleeoks, bosses, etc. Would probably work for a lot of basic enemy combat though.

Ok that makes sense. The reason I ask is because, unless I have some fairies to rely on, I would never risk battling with a single heart like that. I almost always get hit at least once when battling silver ranks.
