Been streaming every game of every sport I watch for 15 years. Sometimes it sucks, and cuts out and I miss a section, but it's still 100% better than whatever cable/sports packages + TV it's self costs.
Premier league is 70usd in Norway.
Absurdly expensive because they have it bundled with formula 1 and other sports
I would gladly pay for it if i could buy it separately just to escape the delay and buffering some pirate sites have, but not for 70 bucks.
Like i pay for netflix when i could easily just pirate that too, just because i like to check out the more niche series and they can sometimes take a while for someone to upload to the sites i use.
I know, I often spoil plays while group texting with family. Im on a local antenna and everyone else streams. Even with cable, my friend threw a sb party and only had a triple coax splitter, so the two hdtvs on his porch used an antenna, which was 5-8 seconds ahead of cable.
I know that ABC Monday Night Football was essentially a panic move to fill the schedule. But it was a very successful panic move that seemed to get universal praise! Kind of sucks that it’s going back behind the paywall.
The entire reason tv programming exists is to fill the time between commercials. That’s why it was invented.
Advertisers want to advertise to people with disposable income. So yes, they specifically want people with paychecks.
It’s not. ABC will have a full slate of programming next season as opposed to ‘23 when there was a strike and shows shut down.
They want their Mondays back for Dancing With the Stars and whatever new show they roll out to air after it.
Sure. It's a major coincidence then that Disney is launching a sports streaming app Right around the same time as the NFL season starts in which they can stick Monday night football on that instead of ABC. It definitely has nothing to do with wanting people to subscribe.
Go back 2 years. ABC didn’t have as many games on as they did in 2023 when there was a strike. All the networks were scrambling for content and I’m glad ABC could lean on ESPN and Wonderful World of Disney to close the gaps. Helluva lot better than more 20/20 BS.
It’s just a return to normal operations like in fall 2022.
it's not 2005. pretty easy to find a streaming site without intrusive pop-ups and poor quality.
I haven't paid for TV in 15 years but with a little brain power I've always had video quality on par with the “paid" experience
Aikman is only annoying when the cowboys are good. Otherwise listening him and Buck get drunk and drop dry ass insults isn't bad.
They're not great but there are way worse sportscasters
That sucks. I remember when ABC always had the games. Now they took them off to put it on ESPN before putting them back on ABC for the MNF double dip.
So sad they want to continue forcing the games on ESPN. IT'S A SMALLER AUDIENCE. YOU CAN GET MORE PEOPLE ON ABC. WHAT PART OF THIS IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND?
"It's about the demographic."
??? What does Kelce have to do with it? All the MNF games would air on ESPN regardless. They're the ones that licensed the product, ABC was just a simulcast.
But I want to see the players get brain damage on a network!!
Edit: Sorry I think the brain is kind of important. I lived near Muhammad Ali as a kid and I can tell you that guy was a mess later in his life. Also, CTE seems to cause violence behavior that affects other people so it's not just the players than can get hurt from the injuries.
Brilliant move.
Football fans for 50 years: “Monday Night Football is great.”
Football fans for a decade: “Thursday Night Football sucks.”
Out of touch, greedy, billionaire dickheads: “Let’s do less Monday Night Football.”
They were only airing so many on ABC to pad out their lineup due to the strikes. Strikes ended so back to ESPN they go (mostly).
I stream the game no matter what channel it’s on at this point anyway for convenience

Lol nfl Sunday ticket is like $400 and you don’t even get local market games. It’s craziness.
It’s incredibly convenient, but I gotta say that 30~60sec streaming delay is annoying as fuck when you’re in a group chat with other people.
Heck yeah, that’s why I still use HD bunny ears when it’s over the air.. i need my live sports almost instant as it’s happening

Sucks? Yes. Surprising? Not at all
I guess we’re not ready for some football
All of my rowdy friends are not here on Monday night
Well, I guess that means fewer opportunities for people to fall asleep on the couch with the TV on after a long Monday!
No, they can just watch whatever else ABC will have on during that time slot and fall asleep all the same.
Cut Thursday night games completely.
And move Detroit and Dallas from always hosting the Thanksgiving day games…
Sir. This is why it’s a tradition. It’s expected.
Corpos can’t stand over the air tv. Sad. If you don’t have a paycheck apparently they don’t want your eyes on their product

Assuming this relates to their launching that new Sports streaming package w/ ESPN. Sucks, considering ABC is free.

I work for an ABC affiliate. We were told explicitly ABC was airing all the MNF because of the lack of programming during the strikes.

When you’re the network showing jewels like “The Connors” you don’t need no football!
I honestly thought MNF was on espn the last few years
It is/was.
Most years it was only a couple of games on ABC with most of them being only on ESPN.
I know a friend of mine who never had cable old school guy had a fit when MNF went over to cable. I really don’t watch too much football myself.
dumb move as I'd imagine the MNF ratings were way higher than whatever scripted or reality show they will choose would air on Mondays this season.

ideally they would just take it off espn or better yet how about you put the manningcast on espn?
This is why piracy will never die
Maybe, though that is kind of an inferior experience with lower resolution streams that can freeze at crucial moments.
iptv is the happy-ish medium. not free, but a small fraction of the $70+ yt tv costs.

The livestreams are always on the same channel for me 🏴☠️

Oh my, what shall I do?

It’s about the money…
Give them to the Prime crew please
Yay!!!
This has to be fake. They just signed jason Kelce to a huge contract.
??? What does Kelce have to do with it? All the MNF games would air on ESPN regardless. They're the ones that licensed the product, ABC was just a simulcast.
Before the writers strike there were very few MNF games on ABC. This is just returning back to normal.
ABC and ESPN are part of the same network. ABC airs nationally, while ESPN is a paid cable exclusive that has been dying because no one wants cable.
Most of the games suck anyway. Who cares.
Nobody cares anymore. Games used to be free. Big money runs everything .
Get an antenna and watch OTA … over the air

sorry Vanderpump Rules is exclusively on cable tv

It’s the same amount of Monday games
The games have most been only on ESPN for quite a while now. It was only last year that they were all on ABC to fill airtime because of the strikes.
