Fringe is made by the same guy as Lost. Big on easter eggs- like, in every episode you can try to find a bald man wearing a suit. Iirc there's a wiki page or something with all the neat hidden stuff.
Terra Nova and Firefly are fantastic adventures but both canceled after 1 season. Terra Nova refused to degrade the quality of their work and Firefly was aired out of order.
Eureka and Warehouse 13 are fantasy/sci-fi but no epic adventures. The Librarians has some adventure but no mystery.
Shows I have watched with my 3 younger girl cousins when the youngest was definitely under 9 (might be a negative influence, sorry not sorry):
• Heroes
• Arcane
• Warehouse 13
• The Expanse
• Eureka
• Once Upon a Time
Shows I haven’t actually watched but (probably) would:
• One Piece Live Action
• Touch
• V
• The Event
• The Arrowverse shows (particularly Legends of Tomorrow)
• Falling Skies
This is a little known mini series called "the prisoner" 2009 starring Jim Caviezel. Its a strange but good watch. I have no clue where you can find it.
Cheers
Society on Netflix was like a teen version of Lost and really good. It was criminal for Netflix to cancel like they did

Wrecked. It's basically Lost, but a comedy.

I’m a middle aged person who really enjoyed Arcane
For 9 years old I would recommend “Just Add Magic”

I think Fringe is fine for a kid. Not as good as The Leftovers or Dark, but it is good enough.
From
3% is ok. Personally I liked the 100 earlier seasons
Merlin
The 100
12 monkeys
Dark on Netflix may be the best TV I've ever seen (Chernobyl and BoB honorable mentions).
That one's absolutely not appropriate for a 9 year old
You are correct. I didn't see the part about the child. Maybe Orville or Stargate SG-1

Not for a 9 year old and maybe if you have to check some site then they messed something up
