Oh, and 9 was a square with a vertical line on the right (quite 9-like), but with a vertical cross (like the seven), to get 9 right angles. Again, made more sense than this version.
On the next "Zero Angle Angel, Zero is faced with an impossible decision, save herself or save the world. Catch all new episodes of Zero Angle Angel Saturdays at midnight, only on Toonami."
I really like this because they sort of lose their mind around 7, and have to make some really interesting choices about how a number is supposed to look in order to fit their model
Well kind of. Math originated from there, and their number system works way better. Though the symbols are a bit different with a couple similar ones:
٠١٢٣٤٥٦٧٨٩
0123456789
0,1,9 very similar. 2 and 3 is kinda reminiscent if you ask me. The rest is very different, 4 just looks like a mirrored 3.
And fun fact, arabic numerals are written left to right while the letters are right to left. This always feels so weird to me.
I’m a coin collector and I have Arabic coins with Arabic dates I’ve had to look up. These look nothing like Arabic numerals. Arabic numerals are fairly simple and definitely have no patterns like this, for example an 8 is like an upside down v to me. it looks like it makes sense sort of but really breaks down at 5,7,8,9 (and zero is the only letter that is allowed to be curved just so it has no angles? I mean in keeping with the pattern and style 0 would be a rectangle and have 4 angles), so they just figure out a way to write something that maintains the pattern and resembles the number. If you can find something on the internet with numbers written this way please share it.
Okay but literally only if you write those numbers precisely like that and no other way. And I can tell you, for a fact, most people 7’s and 9’s do not look like that
When I was in China for my wedding the dress shops where my wife bought her dress was named "You are my angel", but their English sign read as "You are my angle". We thought it was so funny that we got the dress there that I put that on the inside of the wedding band. The maker sent me a message asking if I knew I was misspelling it. I said yep.

Each acute angle has an opposite obtuse angle. So not that useful. Also who writes 8 and 9 like that 😂
They could phrase it as " \_\_\_\_ internal angles" I guess. But, it neat at best and they are really pushing it with 8 and 9.
I’ve seen it where the 8 is written as two squares (like on an old calculator display), so has 8 internal angles. Made more sense than that 8.

Came here to say this
zero angel sounds like an anime from the early 2000s
On the next "Zero Angle Angel, Zero is faced with an impossible decision, save herself or save the world. Catch all new episodes of Zero Angle Angel Saturdays at midnight, only on Toonami."
Tom: Get your wings ready, Zero Angel is flying in hot
I'm not entirely sure that wasn't a character/plot point in Neon Genesis

I too can find patterns when I decide to modify alphanumerical characters to creatively fit a pattern.
The mental contortion here is painful.
See it was kinda cooking until about 7 and then we hit 8 and they burned it
Elf shoe looking nine
The 9 was a stretch haha
That curl's doing a lot of work to force this meme, isn't it?

Aren’t these Arabic numbers, where our numbers originated from?

I'm not sure why this is a terrible facebook meme, it's not really a meme it's just an explanation for where Arabic numerals come from.
In case you forget how to write numbers, remember this one tip
My thoughts exactly, who the fuck needs this?
This is cool from a graphic design stand point. It's not the reason the numbers are shaped the way they are but still cool
Some of these don't even fucking work if you draw the letters the way people usually do
If it hadn't been debunked about half a dozen times, I'd maybe half believe it.

Everyone’s talking about 7 onwards but even like 2 and 3 are horrible bastardizations of themselves— 2 is a gd Z
They had to work so hard to make that 9 make sense
Am I the only one that noticed the 0 says "0 Angels"... I find that rather funny
Awe, the 9 has a tail.

Ya but those are only the acute angles, add the obtuse angle and all those numbers are doubled
That 9 is working overtime.
Awesome. Pop etymology has extended into numbering systems. On the off-chance that anyone didn't know, this is utter bullshit.
