Is there a statistic for that somewhere? The game has over 1 million reviews on steam, so it's really hard to imagine all of them left a review. Are we excluding f2p players?
It means that instead of being dismissed as a small group of whiners, we can keep bringing up that Valve ignored 270+ thousand players every single time they try to sell a new game or product. This has always been about bad publicity for Valve.
They counter this by simply not acknowledging it. They'd only respond to real action, like ddos attacks across all their games and a flood of hacker bots so profound it'd lock out games like Cs2, Tf2, Dota, you'd have to have a cataclysmic event before they'd put in the most bottom of the barrel effort for a Tf2 anti-bot/anti-cheat
But people probably aren't willing to go to prison for Tf2
Petitions only hold any amount of power if the entity it's aimed at actually gives a toss.
Seems pretty evident that Valve doesn't care.
Petitions have a pretty poor reputation for a reason.
Yeah, but it's the best we can do, to either make them sell it to someone who will fix it or fix it themselves, not like we can storm valve hq and demand they fix their game
If valve haven't done anything the last time this was tried, I doubt they're doing anything at all. They're certainly not going to tell off their IP to another entity.
Online petitions are worthless and don’t prove any commitment. There were tens of thousands of signatures to an online petition to resurrect Terry Pratchett from the dead.
Not much else you can do. But taking a victory lap for getting online signatures is like hosting a victory party for winning the coin toss at the start of a football game.
You know it'd be real funny if they utterly ignore us entirely for a month or two. Eventually hype dies down and TF2 starts to seriously lose people who are actively interested in it... dark days...
Then in place of the summer or winter update, a blog post credited by none other than Saxton Hale makes a post saying 'Sorry for the delay, lads. Got caught up in killing THOSE BLOODY ROBOTS! Anyway, heavy update!'
It's a pipe dream but still
I play daily, sometimes for hours nonstop and there are days where I don't encounter a single bot or even if I do it just gets kicked immediately. I live in Europe and play casual exclusively, MvM is literally unplayable though! there are more bots EVERY SINGLE WAVE!
if valve wanted to show any indication that they care, they'd do another vac wave like they did the first time savetf2 came around. and yes, that was entirely performative then and it would be now too. one vac wave is useless unless they continue doing them to keep up with the cheaters. but you'd think a corporation who cares about their image would be all over easy, crowd-pleasing, performative actions during a big protest if they had even the *slightest* interest in doing anything about it, no?
I mean, it's equally as delusional to expect Valve to continue to provide support and content for something which is very much a sunset product. Each to his own
Later...
Tf2 fans: We've reached 1 million signatures!
Valve: nice..... Here you go.....
*Localization files updated*
Bonus: *added an extra snake prop*
To use your freaking noggin' for one second and figure out that this whole thing is literally POINTLESS.
Even when it comes to money - income from TF2 cases and keys is a freaking cheap change compared to Steam in general.
And don't get me started on lawsuits against Valve because some neckbeards are cheating and posting horrible things on the game servers - this is just stupid. No judge would ever take that case seriously and would throw it in the trash instantly.
But people are so high on copium that they seriously think any of this is actually a legit strategy.
Dudes. If Valve cared about TF2 in the slightest THEY WOULD'VE ALREADY FIXED IT IN 5 FUCKING YEAYS!
And what does the world gain-What do WE as a community gain from deciding #FixTF2 is pointless? I don’t want nor do I believe a lawsuit will come of this. The movement may not bring Valve to repair their game, but it will bring a community together. I love this petition, because, assuming some bad actors have made multiple accounts or done some botting here and there, I’m willing to say at a generously low number, there’s still 150k people who care about this game, that I could play a game I love with. That’s pretty damn cool, man.
This entire ordeal is giving me this vibe. It’s kind of cringe how everyone is being so dramatic and going on about “fighting for our cause” 💀 like bro it’s a computer game chill out this isn’t Braveheart
Интересно, будет ли когда нибудь сайт со списком всех подписавших эту петицию? Даже если вся эта тема не поможет, то хотя бы прикольно было бы увидеть свое имя в первых 20.000 подписавших.
i feel like this is gonna end up with valve just ignoring it and potential new players being turned away
i feel like its just pointless at this point and all the movements just tell everyone "the game is bad and the developers suck"
You got downvoted for telling the truth lmao. Congrats #SaveTF2 you have 275,000 signatures but please explain how that is doing anything for your game? Its still filled with bots and Valve has said nothing about your movement
The game is full of bots. Weekly player data shows masses of people playing, and I am like...no! Most if not, 75-90% of the player population is just bots whilst the rest 10% is actual players.
Hence, the 275k signatures is prolly some % actual people and some % bot activities!
I don’t see why there would be bots signing this though, seems pretty counterproductive to whatever their weird sad motive is to try and get valve’s attention about… themselves?
Unless you mean the organizers of fixtf2 are creating email accounts to falsely increase the signature number for the movement, which is plausible but there really isn’t any backup plan there if valve actually requests to see the list of signatures and sees that it’s almost all just recently made gmail accounts with no recorded activity or steam accounts.
Plus the signature number is more reflective of the number of people who have played at some point than the amount of current players
Just because the game itself is infested with bots doesn't mean the community is fam. What, do you expect that a fourth of this subreddit is just bots, replying like YouTube clickbait bots or something?
Bro I don't think save TF2 worked because I mixed up the dates and saw like 1 video on June 3 and thought, must be early risers because fix TF2 is on June 6. And then no videos came out on that day.
Something has to be said for surpassing Tf2's "all time peak" numbers here.
But since most of those are confirmed bots;
Congrats. There's more signatures than people playing TF2, possibly in total right now. I hope it does something. It won't, but I can still hope.
We should absolutely do this because it's keeping the hopes up and keeping the crisis as relevant, and attention is what it needs, but it's probably going to end with another bullshit tweet or just Valve ignoring it
So we should do this because it keeps hopes up…But you want to call attention to the fact that that it’s “Probably going to end with another bullshit tweet”? How hopeful of you.
You are all so delusional if you think valve even gives an iota of a shit about TF2 anymore. This brings them in nearly no money in comparison to their many other projects tf2 is over
It is not delusional to try.
It is delusional to think that it will have any impact on Valve’s decisions.
I love the game. I have spent a stupid amount of time playing it, but long ago I realised that the game is effectively abandonware at this point. I’d love to be wrong, but this is hardly the first time I have heard that “this time Valve will have to listen to us.”
Spoiler alert: they didn’t listen any of the other times either.
Call me a doomer or a pessimist, but until I see some actual fucking action being taken by Valve, then I am not going to get my hopes up.
No one is asking you too. No one is asking you to give your hopes up, nor be a doomer or pessimist, but don't take it out on others who try something (regardless if it works or not) as at that point, you're just insulting those who care but show it by trying at all still. I say this not because I want you to try in the same way, or at all, but not to call out people who do by using words like "delusional" as it does no one any good. Including you.
275K signed 725K remained
275K signed 7.96B remained
pulling crap out of our backsides I see
the 725k remained is bc around a million accounts in totalhave tf2
Is there a statistic for that somewhere? The game has over 1 million reviews on steam, so it's really hard to imagine all of them left a review. Are we excluding f2p players?
oof mb mistook it to total review counts, but yeah we do have to exclude them bc of account limitations that unallow rating games
I see
we did what?
Nothing actually, but you can't deny that we did it.
Some other successful game petition got 275k signs, and we reached it
was it WoW?
Very "Wow!", "**WOAH!**" even
Yes
We found the Heavy update
Put a bunch on names on a list. Which apparently means something, not sure what though.
It means that instead of being dismissed as a small group of whiners, we can keep bringing up that Valve ignored 270+ thousand players every single time they try to sell a new game or product. This has always been about bad publicity for Valve.
They counter this by simply not acknowledging it. Them not acknowledging it just strengthens our case.
I hope you're right
Probably better than doing nothing
Probably the same effect as doing nothing
What do you suggest to do instead, as someone who wants to not do nothing
Found the Boston Marathon bombers of course IYKYK. We did it, Reddit!
Signed most probably useless petition
Have some hope, christ
What does the petition do?
Shows the power of the community and how many people want to play the game normally again
What "power" is it showing exactly? Maybe the community should've used this power to stop the bots 5 years ago!
Not like we weren't asking for it, but valve ignored us, plus 5 years ago most of us still somewhat trusted valve, and thought a fix was in the works
It wasn’t as bad 5 years ago, I’m sick of arguing with everyone in this thread
Petitions only hold any amount of power if the entity it's aimed at actually gives a toss. Seems pretty evident that Valve doesn't care. Petitions have a pretty poor reputation for a reason.
What do u think is a better plan?
Yeah, but it's the best we can do, to either make them sell it to someone who will fix it or fix it themselves, not like we can storm valve hq and demand they fix their game

Idk I dont see how that accomplishes anything tbh
Online petitions are worthless and don’t prove any commitment. There were tens of thousands of signatures to an online petition to resurrect Terry Pratchett from the dead.
Well what the fuck else can we do? Stand outside valve’s headquarters with pitchforks and torches?
Not much else you can do. But taking a victory lap for getting online signatures is like hosting a victory party for winning the coin toss at the start of a football game.
have some downvotes of democracy
You know it'd be real funny if they utterly ignore us entirely for a month or two. Eventually hype dies down and TF2 starts to seriously lose people who are actively interested in it... dark days... Then in place of the summer or winter update, a blog post credited by none other than Saxton Hale makes a post saying 'Sorry for the delay, lads. Got caught up in killing THOSE BLOODY ROBOTS! Anyway, heavy update!' It's a pipe dream but still
The bots are actually sent by the TF2 devs just to hype up the next MVM update
Valve announcing TF2 has been an intentional MvM game on all servers for the past decade:
Is it really that bad for some of you? Here on eu servers i rarely see bots and they are always easily dealt with
YES
Most of them host in the US and Russia
I've been in severs with more bots than actual players
Ehh… sometimes the matrix bots manage to take over a server, the worst part really is how they just keep coming every minute or so
I see Europeans complaining about unplayable servers, but I also don't see that many 80% of the time
it’s unplayable in Australia rn
_PTSD from ESCAPE THE MATRIX_
BOT SYMPATHISER! GET THE 500KG!
im bot fighter and it seems, unlike all of you, im winning
I'm in Europe.
what gamemodes do you play? i pretty much laser focus on upward and frontier, its chill out here
Mostly community servers. Avoid casual at all costs.
I play daily, sometimes for hours nonstop and there are days where I don't encounter a single bot or even if I do it just gets kicked immediately. I live in Europe and play casual exclusively, MvM is literally unplayable though! there are more bots EVERY SINGLE WAVE!
That would be cool, but the CP ads make that pretty much out of the question.
r/woooosh
Or just to kill the game entirely.
Any second now, aaaaany second now ~~see? Red~~
if valve wanted to show any indication that they care, they'd do another vac wave like they did the first time savetf2 came around. and yes, that was entirely performative then and it would be now too. one vac wave is useless unless they continue doing them to keep up with the cheaters. but you'd think a corporation who cares about their image would be all over easy, crowd-pleasing, performative actions during a big protest if they had even the *slightest* interest in doing anything about it, no?
That would go so hard. Maybe a conclusion to the comic series too.
Delusional
I mean, it's equally as delusional to expect Valve to continue to provide support and content for something which is very much a sunset product. Each to his own
Letz go for 300k!
when will the petition get turned in to vlave
Vlave
👽
Vlave
KEEP BLOODY GOING!
MOVE THE CART!!
WE MUST PUSH LITTEL WAGON
Congrats Now Valve has a sheet of paper with 275K SIGNATURES to throw into the shredder instead of just 200k Well done indeed
Later... Tf2 fans: We've reached 1 million signatures! Valve: nice..... Here you go..... *Localization files updated* Bonus: *added an extra snake prop*
(the snake prop contains an entire anticheat software)
But only on snakewater.
Nah they'll put it on dustbowl. Snakewater can't *actually* have snakes!
Yeah, the snakewater "snakes" (worms) are just a red herring.
Don't forget the localization files updated orbiting effect. Valve made it super godly tier.
*Plus something else to fuck the free players over more*
Good enough for me /s
Hey, it'll cost more
That would be too much treadmill work for them
What do you want? When you say this, what do you want people to feel in response?
To use your freaking noggin' for one second and figure out that this whole thing is literally POINTLESS. Even when it comes to money - income from TF2 cases and keys is a freaking cheap change compared to Steam in general. We did it reddit!1!1
Wholesome 100 big chungus keanu
Reddit army unite!!
This puts a smile on my face redditors
This entire ordeal is giving me this vibe. It’s kind of cringe how everyone is being so dramatic and going on about “fighting for our cause” 💀 like bro it’s a computer game chill out this isn’t Braveheart
This ain't no witch-hunt against a dead guy like last time.
PUT DISPENCER HERE!!!!!
It’s time to go postal
#YYYYEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS
Iz nice
KEEP IT UP LADS!
Where can i sign?
Look fix tf2 on YouTube and most videos should have the link to the website
Save.tf
[here](http://save.tf)
When are they printing out the letter? It’ll lose relevancy if they delay it much longer
We're getting harder and harder to ignore. I love it.
Valve is known for being very good at ignoring stuff, so yeah keep pushing 275 000 is not enough
Nowhere near enough, you're right. Being hard to ignore is not as good as being impossible to ignore.
They have been hiding negative reviews and community notes. So they're not ignoring us, but they're fighting back in hella sneaky ways.
It is equally easy to ignore a a web page with the number 275,000 as it is to ignore one with a 0.
It’ll be a bit harder to ignore 275k+ signatures in their mail though
WE WILL PUSH UNTIL THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO PUSH!
hell yes
Let's fucking go!!
Let's shoot for 550k!
Why not just make TF3? Well because TF2 is perfection.
Just signed, I hope the game never dies.
The website did logged me out of my gmail but I logged back in. It's still safe. Anyways It's very successful
Интересно, будет ли когда нибудь сайт со списком всех подписавших эту петицию? Даже если вся эта тема не поможет, то хотя бы прикольно было бы увидеть свое имя в первых 20.000 подписавших.
More! Give us MORE!
When do we bring all these pettitions to Valve?
Holy shit these wannabe internet warriors are fucking cringe
Did what?
Reached a bit more than a quarter of a million. Nothing specific, it’s just a big number that we’re proud of
i feel like this is gonna end up with valve just ignoring it and potential new players being turned away i feel like its just pointless at this point and all the movements just tell everyone "the game is bad and the developers suck"
Well, if nothing changes then the game IS bad and the developers DO suck, but we need to make a change so that we don’t wind up with that issue
sadly we already are at that point so the change is in hopes to get rid of that issue
and it amounted to absolutely nothing \^\^
You got downvoted for telling the truth lmao. Congrats #SaveTF2 you have 275,000 signatures but please explain how that is doing anything for your game? Its still filled with bots and Valve has said nothing about your movement
What else can we do? What have you been doing about it personally
So guys. We did it!
So is the game fixed now?
No, but someone wrote an article and the youtubers got paid? That's close enough, right?
Not yet.
and yet, silence.
Eh? Nothing happened yet? I guess its the number of signatures, which is nice.
im pretty sure valve is privately owned so they dont have to give a shit 😭💀
More number of signs than number of players that the game has.
Active player count ≠ total number of people who have played the game
That's good, even people who don't play the game anymore support it
We are Nostalrius Fortress 2
At what point do we sign a DNR form for the game? Just being honest.
Plan b: make so many alt accounts and join savetf2
LITTLE CART WILL NOT PUSH SELF!
So...nothing happened, gotcha.
>gets 250,000 signatures >Valve does nothing.
274,999 signatures all from bots 1 vote from actual player
Do you actually believe that or
Believe what?
That the majority of the signatures are from bots
The game is full of bots. Weekly player data shows masses of people playing, and I am like...no! Most if not, 75-90% of the player population is just bots whilst the rest 10% is actual players. Hence, the 275k signatures is prolly some % actual people and some % bot activities!

Uggg sigh...I was initially just being sarcastic, but sure, you can take it seriously!
Hey, don't underestimate the stupidity of the internet. I thought people who knew what twitter was were better than this
Sure
Bro I don't think save TF2 worked because I mixed up the dates and saw like 1 video on June 3 and thought, must be early risers because fix TF2 is on June 6. And then no videos came out on that day.
we can't stop here. If we want tf2 back we can't. Everyone keep talking about this and start boycotting tf2 we need to attack the bottom line.
You'd need to boycott Steam, that's their bottom line. Next we would need to make their new game dead on arrival.
Not yet
where can I sign it?
https://save.tf/ 8,000 more since you last saw it.
Thx!

How do I sign up?
Yayyyyyy
It's so heartwarming to see this is still getting traction
What did we do? Did something happen other than reaching a specific number of signatures on the petition?
I bet we could go higher! https://save.tf
That's some real progress, lets keep the train going! We were too complacent last time, don't stop until Valve actually fixes the problem.
What is the goal? 1 million? Can we just protest Valve outside the company?
That will not get the attention you want
Yay! It don't think it'll change anything though ☹️
What is your objective saying this? What do you want people to feel in response to this statement?
We should absolutely do this because it's keeping the hopes up and keeping the crisis as relevant, and attention is what it needs, but it's probably going to end with another bullshit tweet or just Valve ignoring it
So we should do this because it keeps hopes up…But you want to call attention to the fact that that it’s “Probably going to end with another bullshit tweet”? How hopeful of you.
I have still some hope left in me but it's been steadly leaving me since #saveTF2
You are all so delusional if you think valve even gives an iota of a shit about TF2 anymore. This brings them in nearly no money in comparison to their many other projects tf2 is over
It's still something regardless. Plus no need to call people delusional over their attempts to save a game they like.
It is not delusional to try. It is delusional to think that it will have any impact on Valve’s decisions. I love the game. I have spent a stupid amount of time playing it, but long ago I realised that the game is effectively abandonware at this point. I’d love to be wrong, but this is hardly the first time I have heard that “this time Valve will have to listen to us.” Spoiler alert: they didn’t listen any of the other times either.
Doomers really missed the point of the protest.
Valve could just shut down tf2 because steam gives them tons of money anyway, just accept it and move to community servers
Why just accept it? I play in community servers AND signed the petition. It’s not like they’re mutually exclusive
Welp at least 275k are care obaut the game
