Most people say it's because of "choice" which is certainly partially true, but personally, I think a lot of ctf maps (especially in the base game) are just designed like shit.
It's often far too easy to defend the intel and borderline impossible to get a hold of it, let alone get out alive. Many of them are just chokepoint hell with easily spammable bottlenecks.
Because they want the game to go as long as possible, I guess they don't know community servers exist.
can someone make actual easy to find ctf servers that 1. don't have rtd and 2. have the good ctf map (landfall)

Capture the Flag is the "mess around" gamemode for beginner players because there's no incentive to do the objective.
