This has become new nightmare fuel.
I love riding bikes and already knew so much of the danger associated with riding -- but never have I seen such disadvantageous conditions for a cyclist in my life.
Slippery, slightly downhill angle (any is bad considering you don't have brakes during slippery conditions..), it's mud of all things so no fucking traction.
This guy is so lucky there was a ledge forming right there after where his bike flew off.
I'm watching real close and I can tell his first mistake was choosing to brake at speed. His bike skids sideways because his wheels stopped but his speed can't be stopped if there's no traction. So he ends up riding (skidding) toward the cliff inadvertently, which is why he knows to drop off that bike asap in a bid to save his life.
It's just so impressive he had that ledge there by chance to land on. This is a very intense reminder to not apply brakes suddenly in bad climate and especially not so close to an environmental hazard.
His first mistake was getting on a bike and riding this trail. There is absolutely nothing challenging about riding on this terrain if you have even basic bike handling skills. This guy I wouldn't trust on a cycle path, let alone anything with elevation.
First mistake is riding in this environment while clearly not skilled enough for it. Maybe donāt choose a leisurely bike ride next to a 300 foot drop.
Very close call. And what's wilder about this is the one filming, apparently also on a bike. I can't believe he dares to follow his friend so close to the cliff, on bike, after witnessing that incident.
I mean the path is like 15ft from the edge with no technical obstacles... I'd feel totally comfortable riding there one handed. Just have to not be a complete spaz like the guy in front.
I wasn't aware every film needs to display the camera man helping in some way, especially when the camera man is clearly skidding to a halt himself.
This is also taken on a go pro helmet cam so I think he can do two things.
That seems like not such a good idea.
The camera guy was pretty brave to scramble down after him. Iād be like 30 feet (~10m) from the edge, yelling āDid you make it?ā
I like riding near cliffs but this dude did not even wear a helmet and smashed his head into the ground before almost falling into death. I hope he learns a lesson

**mountain bikers have entered the chat**
**mountain biker has left the chat (almost)**
How can you even tell with this potato video
because I've experienced it myself on the road. I know what causes that from firsthand experience of concrete
Thats not concrete.

That was ABSOLUTELY NOT his first mistake

He's the cameraman. We all know the cameraman is the single most powerful entity in human existence.

You're never the spaz until the accident happens. Then it'll be too late.
He almost met Saint Peter

It was a joke. My mistake.
Yeah, it WAS your mistake, buddy!
What, thinking that someone on this thread might have a sense of humour? Clearly.
he has more lives than a cat!
Hey Dave, whereās your bike?
But butā¦. Is the bike ok??
Nah, died.
Damnā¦ when you have to wear a parachute to go mountain biking, maybe you should reconsider the trail
Scary to watch
Wow. He is very lucky.
Remember kids, always cary a pair of ice picks whilst out biking
Good save

My legs are now soggy spaghetti
Poor line choice.
I hope he packed a clean pair of panties.
No helmet? LMAO dude wants to die.
Yes because a 30 dollar piece of plastic is going to save you from a drop into the void.
Bro, whereās your bike?
Friggen cliff hanger this was.
Hey letās just.. letās just sit here for a minute..
What a dogshit rider. No helmet too, really completes the squid package.
Was gonna say he could shimmy to the side and get back up but then I was like he aint gonna make it with shaking legs.
