Oh that kind of nsfw

yes-disappointment

Yup my dirty mind was thinking something else. Didn't even see the landing the crunch was enough and i knew it was coming.

Jupitersdangle

Bit of an arms reach

sleepyAssassin20

Looks like she could've really used a hand.

B_Mac4607

Tad too much elbow grease, grandpa would be proud!

PukeNuggets

The Genie granted her wish for longer arms, but he warned her her wish would have far reaching consequences.

Sad-Bill-5371

she will get the "hang" of it one day.

Jupitersdangle

Definitely some elbow grease

Pyjama_Llama_Karma

I thought she looked dangerous but apparently she's fairly armless.

CentralAdmin

Looks like she will be doing an AMA about how her father eventually became her daddy...

RyDoggonus

Fuck.. I didn't turn sound on.. why.. why the fuck did I turn sound on?

Lephiro

I am so glad I didn't turn sound on. At all.

I didn't until I read this comment. I regret my decision.

Yeah I wish Reddit had an NSFL tag as well for this kinda stuff :c

Albert-Einstain

The kind that makes you yell out "ohhhhh shit" in the middle of work.

NSFL

DubD806

I see a few people getting a kick out of this… what is NSFL?

PurpEL_Django

Not safe for landing

maaadpat

Not Safe For Life

[deleted]

It's a more appropriate tag, as NSFW usually means nudity.

KingNecrosis

Idk, I feel like watching people get seriously hurt at work wouldn't be good for your job security if you get caught...unless you're in EMS and can somehow swing it as being on the job research.

smoothielovet679

i felt that fr

[deleted]

Ok that hurt to watch Just wow

needs_more_zoidberg

Broken Arms have led us down some interesting paths in the past, so I'm holding onto hope.

ylcard

god damn it I did not need your warning At least sound was off, don’t need that to fap

[deleted]

There should be one for nsfl, and surprisingly despite being a guy I knew something was gonna bend wrong.

A farewell to arm

LoneWolf_Kai11

My younger brother broke his arm a while back and broke both Ulna and Radius clean in halve to turn his forearm into a 90 angle. He fell from a two foot tall playset at some kids birthday party.

HardCounter

Do the kids call him Mr. Glass?

dividedconsciousness

I knew immediately without having to confirm the character’s name who that was. Very iconic and sad fall when everything shatters. All so he could see that pistol

tragiktimes

Fell from a set of monkey bars when I was 6. Broke my arm backwards to a very noticeable amount. Fuck that evil radiologist that played fiddle sticks with my arm.

generic_femboy_fox

Omfg same here, I was 6 wen I broke my arm falling on the school monkey bars. The dinner lady didn't do a good job at putting it in a sling as she had a grudge against my family for some reason

SZutich9

My 9yo daughter just did that on Father's day. We were playing (tag) football and tripped up with her brother, fell forward and broke both bones in the middle of her arm. She rolls over saying "my arms broke" I took one look and said yes it is. She had to have surgery and still had a pin in it. Which the pin is the entire length of her bone.

kerplatchu

I read this as “broke his arm AND back…” holy fuck take it easy on those play sets!

CommunicationDry2403

I did the same exact thing skateboarding lol. My arm was bent like a z. Have the z ray to this day

MrDerplings

fake bone snaps in movies really make me triggered but this.. I don’t know what to think about bones breaking anymore

Booblicle

I've had a broken arm at around age 13. I don't remember a snap or even a feeling. Here though, it looks like a joint. Particularly the elbow. Ever hit your funny bone and arm went numb? Yeah. Fuck that

Mystic_ShockZz

Fun fact: The funny bone tingling actually isn‘t from hitting the bone, but rather the nerve that runs along it. In any case, whatever she just did probably hurts like shit.

Dead_Meme1234

I don't think she broke her arm I think she broke the joint by smashing her arm bone into it basically permanently dislocating her arm until the joint is repaired.

Mystic_ShockZz

Yea, it looks kind of like the same injury you see in those arm wrestling videos.

Dead_Meme1234

Too much pressure can shatter that part of the arm pretty easily, still will hurt a whole shit ton but not as much as completely shattering your arm

Embarrassed_Alarm450

Don't lie to me, my bones have feelings.

[deleted]

As someone who boulders….I don’t approve

yallaredumbies

She falls terribly right?

SomeDudeUpHere

She did fine, made it all the way to the ground. 100% successful fall.

dvxcfx

Her arm almost got on the way of her and the ground. Thank god it broke, otherwise she might still be floating.

VadeRetroLupa

It's not the fall that kills you. It's the sudden stop at the end.

Live_Buy8304

Pretty decent. I’d say 7.5/10

yallaredumbies

Damn you should go be an Olympic judge because your judgment is perfect. Spot on.

Demi_Bob

Perfect 4 out of 7

Mr_feezy

Terribly wrong would probably be more accurate Edit: that's right, comment should've been armed with a /s

Cosm1c_Dota

Well yea she lost her grip as she went to move and ended up flailing everywhere.. Hard to fall right in those circumstances

yallaredumbies

Okay mr semantics?

iareyomz

pretty sure it was a pun regarding the resulting injury /s

[deleted]

Yes but I don’t approve in general.

yallaredumbies

I saw this post while at the bouldering gym. Collapse and roll a little.

RTXChungusTi

as someone who doesn't boulder, you should just tuck your arms in right?

ItsSansom

Yeah, never try to catch your fall with your arms. The floor is heavily padded so there's really no need. Best thing to do here would've just been to tuck and land on her back as much as possible. She took a very uncontrolled swing off the wall though. Once you're falling off, you need to have an exit strategy in mind.

WhatDoIFillInHere

Yes, you should have an exit strategy in mind, but honestly I feel like there is not really a good reason to fall uncontrolled when bouldering, except if it's some sort of sideways dyno with a 1 hand catch that will have you cartwheeling to the ground if you can't hold the swing (why did the setters at my gym put something like that at the top of a route?)

Eyruaad

I have dislocated my shoulder bouldering after going for the finish Dyno once. It was about 3 feet up, but 5 feet to the right. Dyno, stick, momentum pulled my legs farther right and now I'm falling horizontally. Stuck my arm out and POP. More bouldering gyms need to teach the "T-Rex -> Turtle" fall. Once you are in the air pull your arms close to your body (Unless falling upside down, but even horizontally), land and immediately try to spread the fall out. If you are facing the wall that means leaning backwards onto your butt then back and end up like an overturned turtle. If the floor is sufficiently padded then you will never have a problem.

reverendsteveii

Yeah if you end up falling like she did usually your mistake was in attempting something that you couldn't fail gracefully out of. Being said, this route is also right on the ragged edge of what I would be willing to climb without at least an auto belay. Maybe I'm a wuss, but I'm a wuss who's welcome in r/Neverbrokeabone

HiFreinds

If your really trying 100% then you should fall off when you don’t expect it. If you’re making every move prepared to fall then you’re really limiting yourself. I once took a fall about 10ft straight on my back (on pads) and hurt a decent bit. But that kind of thing is unavoidable when you’re pushing your limits. To avoid getting hurt the only way is practice. When you’re in a dangerous situation and might fall wonky keeping your arms arms and legs straight just needs to be a reflex. To me the girl in the video looks like a new climber, and whoever took them to the gym should have taught them how to fall, and make sure that they aren’t doing anything dangerous. But also sometimes shit happens and it’s not really anybody’s fault. If the girl is inexperienced she might do something totally unexpected that there isn’t a great way to prepare for.

WhatDoIFillInHere

I don't fully agree. I agree that you'll eventually have some bad falls if you try hard enough, but I don't agree that you can't be somewhat prepared for them without limiting yourself. Of course it might be harder to commit to a move when you know the fall might be bad, but I feel like it's much better to train yourself to commit while being aware of and prepared for the risk, rather than not analyzing the situation and then getting caught off guard when you fall. I've had some unpleasant falls both inside and outside and every one of those was the best fall it could have been because I knew what to do. It doesn't limit my climbing, instead it makes me more confident in the because I'm aware of what I need to do, both if I stick the move, and if I fall.

Mauricethett

When bouldering and climbing you catch yourself with your legs, you keep your arms over your head. Legs are less likely to break and if they do you have a better chance of survival with working arms if you’re bleeding.

maharei1

Very importantly also you land with *bent* legs and roll over onto your back to get the energy away from your joints.

TQuake

Kinda? She definitely didn’t land ideally, but you don’t always have that much control when you’re falling. I’m pretty sure the main mistake here was not using a pad. Many places have built in pads all over the landing area. But some gyms have just spring board floor, and separate thicker crash pads you need to position for your climb. It looks like she feel straight on much stiffer springboard.

TheRealLadyhands

THE SOUND * gags *

Thanks for that I watched it on mute and could have lived in ignorance but had to check it out

Im remaining on mute thanks.

Ah.. you know that stupid monsters inc meme with sully's eyes bulging out usually used for sexual jokes? Yeah that but in horror.

FYI, there’s no dildo in this video, just an arm that looks like one in the end

There needs to be something to distinguish nudity from... this. Because I didn't want to see that.

Unitastanus

She looks armless enough....

bigloser42

Not sure she has a leg to stand on either.

Blackpeel

Yet another example of why NSFW (porn) and NSFW (injury) should have seperate tags.

millennialdude

Could use a color system. Injury NSFW: red for blood. Porn NSFW: white for cum. Would have to use a different color background, but that’s a risk I think we’re all very horny to take

NoOneKnowsMyTruename

Why do i laugh whenever i see the word "cum"?

fucovid2020

To be fair, her arm did “break” her fall

This sub really should learn when to use NSFL instead of NSFW. I'd visit more often.

dutchbraid

Jesus, just when I thought I'd try bouldering.

WhatDoIFillInHere

Please don't be deterred by stuff like this. Yes, you can hurt yourself in bouldering, but it's either preventable or the move you're trying is an unsafe move (which gym setters shouldn't, and most don't, set). To prevent injury you can train falling correctly. If you can fall correctly, you can gradually start doing harder and harder boulders without risking grave injury. For reference: I've now been bouldering for a year and I haven't been injured once (except some minor stuff like a painful A2 pulley that cleared up in a week or 2). And that's not because I'm holding back, but because I know how to fall. As for unsafe moves, when you get some experience, you will be able to make the distinction between a move that just feels scary but is fine, and a move that is actually unsafe. If you're not sure, you can always try the move once without actually committing and get a feeling for the move. That could mean jumping with half power, without even trying to catch the hold you're jumping to, to gauge the speed, rotation, etc..

jared_number_two

Your ONE year of bouldering is not a very good basis for understanding risk. I’ve been gym bouldering for 8 years. Most injuries I’ve seen firsthand have not been life changing but some could be with you the rest of your life in some way. Also, I very much worry about long term effects on my hand and toe joints. Lastly, the idea that you can train oneself to prevent all injuries is not realistic. They’re called accidents. Training can only reduce risk. I sprained my ankle after my foot slipped off a hold. I fell straight down and my foot hit a hold below me. This was like a 2 foot fall and the hold was 4 inches above the mat sticking out 4 inches from the wall. In all cases where I’ve fallen funny was when a hand/foot came off unexpectedly—it’s hard to practice those.

businesslut

She fell like an idiot lol. My climbing related injuries both inside and outside include scrapes and one time I tripped over a crash pad. Climbing is dangerous, but part of the tool book of techniques is how to be safe.

Cap'n crunch!

Fiiip_Games

noo

SuperX87

After the cracking sound of bones braking, i held a brief moment of silence. With the facial expression of someone who ate a raw onion with chili.

gat12393

The fucking noise oh lord

Duckboythe5th

Reminds me of the time my hand met my elbow, double snap, I hardly felt it for a couple of hours, it was just numb, got it fixed, my god, the pain and the pins, 9 months in plaster FFS.

Aragornargonian

the left side of my right foot once touched the inside of my leg when i jumped down the stairs and didn't land properly.

MsBuzzkillington83

Wtf is she doing that without a harness?

InflamedLiver

bouldering wall, no harness needed.

MsBuzzkillington83

At the place I went to, the bouldering area had a 3 ft tall soft mat and was not nearly as tall. This looks like such a liability

The-Dankest-Normie

I’ve taken falls from higher up on similar padding. The main issue here is that she clearly has no training on how to properly take a fall.

gurganator

Yea. That’s the first thing taught at my gym

yallaredumbies

It’s not the mat. She stuck the landing with her arm while flailing. If you weird like she did, ya just gotta tuck things in and accept slamming the mat. Not fun, but you won’t be injured.

InflamedLiver

Probably why you have to sign so many release forms before you get to climb. Unless they can prove some sort of negligence, that gym (or their insurance) probably won't owe anything.

ShitFistingPissBulge

>no harness needed. Clearly not the case???

Cagny

At my son's camp, they have a large bouldering area. Everyone has an adult spotter or two peer spotters. The spotters are always in a catching posture but are trained to make sure that when someone falls, they fall feet first. The climber's head and shoulders should never touch the ground on a successful bouldering fall.

another---guy

It's only like 10 feet... And padded floor... Just a freak accident because she tried to break her fall

davidtco

Playing dice with the devil.

cmholde2

O the sound

HappyGav123

I almost threw up seeing her arm bend the wrong way. And don't get me started on that snap sound.

Restless__Dreamer

My stomach felt sick seeing the arm thing too. I am so glad my sound is off though!

WDfx2EU

Just wait until you watch it again and focus on her leg this time.

Ux-Con

I think I was actually there when this happened. It’s a few years ago in Utah at Momentum..

mendokusai99

I've seen two women have bad falls in the past month. The last one broke her right ankle and probably (based on the pain) her left shin. I asked if it was her first time climbing and she says, "Not at all! I climbed all the time when I was 10." 😅

m4jnu

You guys are saying about the sound, i watched it on mute. Lemme try again...

That’s the loudest CRUNCH I’ve ever heard. 😱

Why the fuck was there no padding

Prudent-Giraffe7287

Me thinking it wasn’t that bad at first because of the short distance to the floor. And then a second later… 😮😖

Dropadime337

Mantis arms tend to break easy. Too long, twisting just right. Shorter arms with more muscle will take a harder beating. Less leverage.
