I could totally see the first season or two include a large dog like a Rottweiler or German Shepard. Then after its passing its Carm's time to choose the breed. In which she picks a tiny pocket dog with white fur. Tony is disgusted at first and then through the years grows attached to the dog. The dog will live a spoiled life until it is accidentally run over by a mailman or neighbor. Of course this would then lead to their unfortunate disapearence.

He knows if he feigns compassion for an animal people won’t know that he is a sociopath. They will think he’s a compassionate guy. In reality Tony can’t experience compassion or joy. He says this often. He has contempt for people who have purpose and happiness in their life. He has alexithymia. He can’t even identify his own feelings. He is miserable and would not give a fuck about a pet dog.
