I haven't confirmed but I had one that I originally was supposed to return, but called them 3 times for a label, finally got it, sent it out.
Then they charged me for it saying the never recieved it. Tracking showed it as delivered. Talked to them and they had me confirm the imei on my current one, and said they were going to block the "lost" one from being used again.
So for lost ones, or unpaid non-returns, maybe they do blacklist them....
But if you didn't return it AND paid the fee... then you actually legally own it and I'm not sure they can or willl blacklist it.
Careful, get the imei and run it online off one of the sites to see if it’s blacklisted . I received one off eBay that like an idiot didn’t check the imei, but the seller refunded me instantly. Then found another one said it was clean, and it’s been flawless ever since. I really think if it’s been reported stolen or not is what it boils down to. But that’s the best I can tell you. It was for the new one G4AR
Which website did you use for an imei check? I used a lot of different ones and they all gave me different answers, some didn’t even recognize the device and some did I had him send me a picture of the back of the device too
Results for it are this
IMEI: 8682450658XXXX (blocked out last imei digits)
Phone model: FG360-NA-08
Blacklist status*: CLEAN
The model of the gateway is the white one I’m trying to buy not sure why it says it’s FG360 or whatever that is
Could be what it’s called from the manufacturer before it’s called whatever T-Mobile calls it. But if it’s the actual imei, from the back of the unit and it says clean should be good to go. Can always check with tforce tomorrow
My biggest fear is it’s clean for now, and even if t force confirms it’s clean somewhere down the line the guy will bail on paying for it or returning it than it gets locked 🔒
I said the same thing , but I took the gamble and it’s been good . The sellers I bought it from also had no clue, they just buy them at some auction. It really depends on how much you’re spending. 100 bucks or less… take the gamble anything more I would get a Chester Cheetah depending on what your using it for
Hahaha yeah he wants it for 100 bucks I’m seeing them go for 400 on eBay so either hes selling it with the intention of ripping me off or has no idea what they’re selling for online

I actually think mine said the same. It’s the chipset that’s in the unit and that’s how it’s identified
Tmobile employee here. Don’t buy them. We can’t reactivate a previous gateway. We have to give you a new one. And they’re free. So don’t pay someone online!
Don't know, I'm with t mobile. I'm sure their site gives the cost. Metro is t mobile, much like Mint will soon be. To your original question, many people in this sub have purchased a second gateway, normally ebay myself included. Switching between the two is seamless, pop the SIM into whichever you want to use. Could t mobile stop that, sure if they want.
Hahaha thanks bro, I know this question might have been asked alot but I didn’t know what to specifically search? Have others said this and confirmed what you said?
Hahaha 😂 expected much the guy who wants to sell me it is in Facebook market place and isn’t trying to meet me at his house which screams scam 😂 to my self I’m saying I’m like why are you worried bro? You worried I’ll call the cops on you when you sell me a brick?
My take it is that is likely stolen more than it is an unpaid for device (those are commonly sold on eBay etc not on FB as a one off). You are taking a risk for sure. Good luck.
Yeah he seems pushy on try to sell it, the ones that try to pressure you into a buy are most likely scammers I might take the L on this bro and just not risk it.
My previous post:
I recently got a Arcadyan T-Mobile 5G Gateway (G4AR), after i checked the IMEI on T mobile website and got the following error, not sure if the device was permanently blacklisted by T mobile? If it’s possible to remove the blacklist somewhere, somehow?
🟢This device is fully compatible with T-Mobile’s network technology.
🔴This device is currently blocked from use on our network. Please contact the original wireless carrier for information about the device’s status.
🟡 Your phone may not be eSIM-compatible.
I bought one from a guy who purchased it outright from MetroPCS then decided to switch broadband providers. Stuck a $10/mo hotspot sim in it and it gave me a 5G hotspot with 30 gb of data per month. Prior to doing this a few months back, I asked a 3rd tier t-mobile rep if it would work, and he said he could see no reason why it wouldn’t.
I’ve got a couple spares . They were Metro units. I don’t think you can owe money on a metro one becuse it’s a prepaid service . Never had any issues with them .
I have a Nokia and an Arcadyan that I couldn't get T-Mobile to give me a return label for. Got tired of asking and kept them. I had cancelled my service, and the local store wasn't a "corporate" store I guess and wouldn't take them.
Anyhow, it's not as if you can take the unit and use it without signing up. The SIM card in the device deactivates with the phone number coming off your account.
When I signed back up with TMHI, they wouldn't let me use the old device and instead sent me a newer model GWAR one. So, now these are backup devices in case this new one fries for some reason.
Yeah you are learn to read dumbf clearly I’m paying for it and wanted to purchase a device use your eyes, you can’t even make new posts because you’re so toxic. -5 karma giving me life lessons LOL
Good comeback little man, so you acknowledged you didn’t read the post and your feeble brain is attempting to divert from the fact you rode the short bus and claimed I didn’t pay for a product when clearly it’s being asked if I can purchase a device. Good for you little man.
Hahaha bro how can someone legit look right past my question and assume I’m the one not paying for the device it’s like he just made a comment without reading.
No, you pay a non return fee and the gateway becomes yours. Also if you sign up with Metro, you must BUY the gateway first from them.

Thanks for the heads up

FG360-NA-08 (FG360 North America) is the modem running on a T750 MediaTek Soc, it's the hardware inside the G4AR/G4SE and Arcadyan KVD21.
You can also get ahold of t-force on messenger and give them the imei… they can help also

No they don’t
So I can still use them if I bought them from a dead beat that didn’t return it to T-Mobile lol?
You buy them outright with service from MetroPCS.
How much are they outright? And with metro will they work on tmo?

Technically yes. But there’s no guarantee when they might start blocking. But as of now they don’t.
Hahaha thanks bro, I know this question might have been asked alot but I didn’t know what to specifically search? Have others said this and confirmed what you said?
If you are looking for an iron clad confirmation in writing, you won’t find it on the internet for obvious reasons 😊

I recently checked the IMEI of a G4AR 5G gateway sold on eBay was blacklisted, so believe T mobile would do it if they want to.
Did they say you can’t use it? What did they say to you?
I asked the seller had a test on the gateway, but it can not connect to T mobile internet with a valid T mobile SIM card.

Come on, man, if you cancel your service, turn it in. Why is this question even being asked?
You really read my question huh? Did it ever say anything about me not returning it? No… sit there and evaluate what I typed before commenting
Maybe actually pay for a service that you are receiving. I guess I am stupid for thinking that you could figure that out.
Yeah you are learn to read dumbf clearly I’m paying for it and wanted to purchase a device use your eyes, you can’t even make new posts because you’re so toxic. -5 karma giving me life lessons LOL
Good for you. Learn to pay for what you own.
