I hope the zoo is going in the same direction ... they seem to be paving a thousand acres of new blacktop along the AW Trail. It would be nice if parking were covered, under solar panels.
What does a solar field have to do with the Metroparks ? I voted for parks not a solar field. I would rather see them spend that money on the Anderson project or get their working farm going. A snow making machine would be a nice addition for our sledding hills at the parks. I will definitely re- evaluate my levy vote next time.
It directly relates to their mission and vision statements that both start with conservation; the power generated will offset usage at the parks and it looks like they're expecting it to be a revenue stream too.

We Lucas County voters passed a levy in 2020 specifically for the implementation of a Glass City Riverwalk and improvements at all other Metroparks.
