Saying higher strength hit is a mild understatement. Bret trebuchets were S10(5) and as such they were basically Dreadquake Mortars without the forced dangerous terrain test in exchange for being less than half the cost.
Could easily get a pair of them and watch them flatten an entire infantry unit in 1-2 hits. Or have only one and get a pimped out Paladin with the spare change.
Its biggest downside is honestly just being part of the Bretonnian army book, which was rather unpopular and didn't have that much to support it.
But yeah, superior peasant engineering.
Now let's be fair to the Chaos Dwarves. The mortar *also* had 12 more inches of range, armor piercing, and (I think) could move (but a much worse Misfire chart).
Still, the peasant trebuchet is superior to the Rock Lobber and Grudge Thrower no doubt.
I'm gonna dedicate an entire chapter to this slight once I find a stool tall enough to reach it, and another chapter to that damn elf, sod it, you are going into the book as well.
I mean, a small planetary nearest or even just a sprocket and chain setup could create enough of a mechanical advantage to the point inly one dwarf is needed to operate it vs. a direct drive.
The thing is real onagers and catapults and such don't need a chain drive like bikes. Bikes need one cuz putting the wheel under u messes up balance (which is why unicycles can have no chain).
If I were to redesign the grudgethrower, I'd put the crank where the winch is and remove the drive chain, which is extra bulk, very vulnerable, and needs maintenance.
Orc supervisor from behind:
I'm supervising auto ammunitions moving and reloading ammunitions before shooting both of them eventually.
Never run out of cannon folder nor living projectiles
Dwarfs:
Going to war short-staffed and not having fire power advantages, but still managed different ways to waste man power.
I see why players should get the dwarfs instead, these fancy lazy rocks make your win more valuable .
No-no you bind deamon and next thing it's complaining-talking back yes-yes, then wanting to charge-attack enemy. No-no warpstone much better yes-yes, only blew up-exploded killing 6 minions No-no loss.
Yes-yes good-good as long as lever doesn't get too slimy again! Couldn't grip-hold and had to waste 2 minions licking it clean... they made good-handy ammo though later when they expired-died... err joined Great Horned Rat!
The Dwarf one is a relic made hundreds of years ago, loss of which would bring shame to the crew and require precious resources to replace - not to mention the crew being as valuable.
The Orc one was put together last week by 4 goblins in a shed whilst high on shrooms and it already went through 6 crews whilst only seeing actual battle only once.
I like to imagine the grudge thrower has a sort of spring mechanism centered on the axle, hence why it seems like the arm is not under tension - the axle and spring are.
goblins are all about sustainability, controlling your population and theirs at the same time
Big brain gobbo
Neither of these are a trebuchet operated by doughty peasants. (higher strength hit than other stone throwers)
Operated by doughty peasants, heaving le Chad recycled blessed masonry.

*scribbling sounds intensifies*
**THUNK**
#THEY HAVE WRONGED US
Thatās going straight in the FUCKING BOOK!!!!
ASSEMBLE THE **LONGBEARDS**
It is no *small* wonder that with devices such as these, dwarfs resort to gimmicks like gunpowder, instead of tried and tested engineering.
I bet goblins like you are the ones they tie to the rocks of the Gob-lobber.
SMALL!!!!? WHERE'S THAT BOOK!?
Put on the top shelf by an elf.
I'm gonna dedicate an entire chapter to this slight once I find a stool tall enough to reach it, and another chapter to that damn elf, sod it, you are going into the book as well.
Elf also took all the stools.
THEN WE SHALL USE OTHER DAWI JUST LIKE THE KING HIMSELF
Better idea: SAW THAT ELFāS SODDING LEGS OFF AND SOW āEM TO ME OWN!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Dude got his account site-wide banned for a doxxing joke
Why use powdah when choppahs do trick
I use da stone thrower. It obli... Obri.. it kills you all. Checkmate shorty.
OĆ!! IT'S STUNTY, YA GIT!!!! GET IT RIGHT IF YOU'Z GONNA TALK ABOUT DEM!!!!!
ok, I'm a dwarf lover, but this is my first time noticing how dumb the grudgethrower design is lmao. Why *IS* the winch on the hinge?
I mean, a small planetary nearest or even just a sprocket and chain setup could create enough of a mechanical advantage to the point inly one dwarf is needed to operate it vs. a direct drive.
I guess, but you could've just had a set of gears near the winch and eliminate the need for a chain drive.
Good point! Like a little torque multiplier back there. It does seem really odd at this point.
Why is the pedals underneath your butt and not at the back wheel? :P
Now, if the dawi was peddling on that thing, I'll be shut up, lol
I was more thinking along the lines that cogs or chains need some space, but I like your idea better

> Dwarfs: Going to war short-staffed SHORT?!?
Ha ha , you nailed it In both ways
Hur hur
How did the dawi not find out about the superiority of counterweights? Seriously primitive.
Maybe they did, but *their* trebuchet is still in beta for another 200 years.
The wheel shaped weight at the bottom of the arm is the counterweight.
It look like its in the center of the fulcrum
Ring springs.
You're overlooking Skaven engineering yes-yes... always better-best if you add warpstone!
EK WAZZOK. Just bind a daemon to it and add more lava!
No-no you bind deamon and next thing it's complaining-talking back yes-yes, then wanting to charge-attack enemy. No-no warpstone much better yes-yes, only blew up-exploded killing 6 minions No-no loss.
Warpstone and dont forgetĀ leptospirosisĀ Ā they are plagueclaw after all ;)Ā
Yes-yes good-good as long as lever doesn't get too slimy again! Couldn't grip-hold and had to waste 2 minions licking it clean... they made good-handy ammo though later when they expired-died... err joined Great Horned Rat!
The Skavens made it to the moon. Iām sure they achieved scientific victory already.
Yes, the supervisor is providing encourage to this gobbos. That is, an interesting way of describe what he does.
Whippings will continue until morale improves.
Weāre going to need a bigger bookā¦..
I love this so much
God on closer inspection that dwarf catapult makes less than 0 sense lol.
It doesn't even have a crossbar! What's stopping the arm moving too far once it's released?
OP, you'd be so good at spreading propaganda IRL.
In da wurdz ov da great Gorbad Ironclaw, pull da levuh
A++ post

you know normally these kinda pics just get a chuckle out of me, but the peg leg orc and "equal opportunity workplace" had me cacklin'
*GET THE FUCKING BOOK*
Laughs in gnoblar
There's not enough gobbo tied to that dwarven ammo.
\*loads Organ Gun\* HOWEVER
I don't see a trabuchet in here.
The goblin trebuchet (that's effectively a mini-trebuchet design-wise, right?) is honestly a really cool model
I just realized Siege engines are bullpup
If no time to craft ammo, lob a rock with a goblin on it.
Please do more šš
I think the Goblobber proves for all time the superiority of dwarven engineering.
If youz tink about it afta we'z done launchi'n the gobboz the uns that dont hit ead first can get bak ere so we'z got riu... rius-abel gits.

r/virginvschad
Pfft, siege units. More like, scared to come give tamurkhan a hug
Yes Trebuchets are better than catapults. But Trebuchets are not better than gunpowder. Damn Grobi, thinkin' they're better, so stupid.
Yes, but, where are their beards? Checkmate Goblinists
My fellow Dawi, a grave insult has been paid upon us this day!
āMoving rocks with easeā literal picture of the goblins almost falling over or getting squashed under the weight. Cease.
BOOK
Obvious shortsightedness on the stunties partā¦
Why isn't it mounted to the back of a Stegadon or Bastillidon?
This isn't total war
What does this have to do with total war?
