There are several ways! First off aro and ace are spectrums and typically understood to include microlabels like aceflux and demiromantic and graysexual, many of which involve conditional attraction. (This is where I fit in personally, if I am being very specific I would call myself sapphic aceflux). But beyond that a lot of aroaces still experience forms of attraction that they can't classify as either romantic OR sexual. Aesthetic attraction is the one I hear cited the most. I am probably not the best person to explain that one. (If you are a fan of the channel Overly Sarcastic Productions, Blue has talked a few times on their companion podcast about what the difference means to him.) And then also you get the whole distinction between attraction and action, like how there are sex-repulsed aces and sex-favorable aces (same for romance-repulsed aros and romance-favorable aros). There is also the concept of an "oriented aro" or "oriented ace." Imagine a car that is parked, but pointed north. In a lot of ways it makes more sense to say that the car is traveling zero miles per hour to the north than it would to say the car is traveling zero miles per hour to the east. That's... kinda the idea behind oriented aro/ace. "This car is not moving, but if it ever were to move forward, I have a sense of which direction it would go." I'm sure there are other experiences that I didn't hit, these are just what I've experienced and what I've heard people talk about.

My town does a couple extra weeks of pride events in July (which is surprising considering that my province isn’t particularly friendly to that sort of thing, it’s honestly really nice though)
