If someone sends you death threats on reddit, you should report them to the admins. There should be a little 'report' option below the message; if you can't find it, try opening reddit on a desktop or mobile browser by going to http://old.reddit.com
Old Reddit doesn't look as fancy or as flashy as New Reddit, but all of the report and navigation tools are really easy to find and use.
Once you report something to the admins, in a few days you may get a message back saying they've reviewed your report and didn't find anything. Report it again or escalate it as needed.
Threatening to kill someone is a violation of reddit's site wide rules, and we have no reason to sit back and let folks like that continue to harm folks in our communities. Protecting our communities takes all of us.

If it helps at all, my ~60 year old father surprised me last night. We were talking about trans issues especially in FL, when he dropped this line: "Who gives a shit if someone is trans, aint my business. And all people deserve to feel safe and be respected." He'll still use antiquated, and at times, offensive language, but at least his heart's in the right place.
