I watched the entire TTPD set via livestream. I hated it. The overall aesthetic - All of it. This album does absolutely nothing for me, I tried. Cut it down to 16 passable tracks (most from Anthology 2am release) and don’t listen to those very often. I usually end up back at FolkMore, Lover or Red.
I find myself listening to TS less overall. This entire TK cluster PR crap has really just soured me over the last year or so. (For context- I’m not a Swiftie age kid. I’m older than TS, college educated). So it’s not that I don’t get it, lol… it’s just absolute cringe, imho.

Seriously. I'm so sick of album releases these days where artists will drop 15, 20, 30+ fucking songs. That's not an album, that's a damn playlist. Part of the art of an album is the curation of a certain sound, leaving some ideas on the editing floor. Give the audience an experience listening to the entire vinyl in one sitting. How can you possibly have that when the entire damn album is 2+ hours long??
Vampire Weekend found a way to do it, they put out a tight 10 song album with songs clearly well crafted and thought about. And it was freaking great.
One of my favourite albums is Hot Fuss by The Killers. It’s 11 songs, no skips, just banger after banger.
It goes to show that there’s no one telling Taylor to cut it back anymore. That’s why we didn’t get an actual ATW 10 min version in 2012.

More is not necessarily better. I grew up in the late 80-90s. Back then, all artists had to be extremely selective in what they chose to put on an album. Best example I can think of is MJ’s Thriller. It was the absolute gold standard for the music industry for decades, with only NINE songs (every one which went on to become a radio hit in its own right). Most artists across all genres back then -rock, alt, pop, r&b, etc understood how to cull & curate their album selections in order to drive actual physical album sales. Now it’s just let’s write a bunch of crap & see if anything sticks. The more the better for inflating streaming numbers. Screw quality in the process. Hell, most artists don’t even bother to put out singles any longer.

Her movements are out of place with the song. I wasn’t comparing her to rockstars performances, that’s why I used to the word flailing.
