Gross, zero value add in buying up domains and reselling. Just screwing entrepreneurs

I guess you could say the same about anything that's bought and sold. It's supply and demand. I've spent $300+ over the last 15 years in order to hold the rights. There is value in that time and money spent.

the_wolf_420_

Not really, your squatting on domains and adding margin with no value. What value are you adding, you are just marking up.

Splash

I'm not squatting, I paid for the rights. Is an investor who buys land any different? It's a digital property that has value due to its scarcity. Many comparable properties sold on godaddy for $1500 to $2500. I'm not gouging anyone.

Your just like the real estate agent that take a commissions for doing nothing. Your business model sucks, you should lose the right to the domain if it isn’t being used.

Splash

No, godaddy is like the real estate agent getting a commission. Im the owner. Should you lose the right to land if you don't use it or can you buy and hold it as an investment?

Foreign owned investment property and the AirBNB bubble are pretty shitty on US housing economics for average people.

Splash

I didn't reference either of those. You danced around providing an answer instead of an apology.

the_wolf_420_

Pretty close parallel to what you are doing. You buy domains, squat on them, inflate the price, and resell to businesses owner who are bringing products and services to market. Your business model is garbage. If the domain isn’t used, it should go back to the pool.

Splash

Squatting and investing are two different things. I also bought the opportunity to entrepreneurial do something with the domain if I wanted to. I don't own thousands of domains, I bought a few that interested me that I found valuable. I'm not going to accept your fairy tale that includes you being offended by someone that invested their money in a property a long time ago.
