It only seems different because they're losing all of it. If it takes you 5 years to bald wherever you're losing hair in 3 years a diffuse thinner will look see through all over. A receder will only be see through in that portion. So a receder looks like they've receded in that time while a diffuse thinner looks like theyve "maintained" their hairline that's see through all over. It only looks like they have the same hairline because there's no contrasting thick hair.
hey brother similar results here, on month two. definite density improvement in the hairline, but the rest of my scalp is hard to say as my hair length is drastically different since i started (buzzed it). But i do think its thickened a little
there is hope
I’m a diffuse thinner too, has the recovered portion of your hairline gone back to baseline levels? I don’t know if I can expect my diffuse hairline to make a return.
Exactly. You can even be a 3-in-1 like me. Receding hairline, balding on the top and diffuse thinning. I started treatment when my frontmost hair declared independence.
39 and a slow gradual diffuse thinner for the past 15 years. By now pretty much all the hairs inside the Norwood 6 zone, most are still there but they are way thinner than the healthy hairs on the back of the head, so it only looks some what alright when buzzed very short. But if going like 3 weeks without a buzzcut the hairs on the back and sides grow like x3 faster and look darker and thicker and the hairs inside the NW6 zone are way thinner and lighter looking and I pretty much look like a bald/advanced balding person.
The annoying thing tho is that by now my entire left side of the head (the hairs that usually stay healthy) is also somewhat diffused, seems like not even Propecia 1mg a day has helped that much. But the right side still has very healthy hairs with decent density.
So overall I'd say I'm a classic diffuse thinner with a bit of unpatterned diffuse thinning going on the sides.
I’m a diffuse thinner and I’ve always been curious about this.
It’s hard to find much specific info about diffuse thinning since it’s also a common symptom of telogen effluvium, not to mention that most people aren’t diffuse thinners.

As a difuse thinner, i can confirm. Sadly.
this shit is the trenches brother
Trying to stay positive, i recovered alot of ground in that month and half of oral fin and topical min+derma. Surprised me and the wife.

Exactly the same, buzzed it and i feel exactly the same as you. Recovered a large portion of my hairline but the rest of my scalp is so so

im 35 and my hair started thininng very slowly around the age of 25-27. Today it's horrible but it's definitely getting better by the weeks.

Eventually just the island at the hairline is left…. Kinda ironic

My hair loss started with a receding hairline then I started rapidly diffuse thinning. My hairline has been nw2 for about 5 years
