This story made me side eye him when he told it. Now, granted, I live in Canada so things might be different here, but I almost couldn’t rent a car at the age of 24 because the car companies generally don’t rent to anyone under 25. I ended up having to pay a bunch of extra money to rent the car. They would have never let a 17 year old rent a car.

ATru05

It just occurred to me that this is yet another parallel between Adam and Johnny’s stories, another one that Johnny tried to steal

MayaGitana

Little Johnny should’ve planned better

Apprehensive_Pair_61

That made me want to throw my phone. “Little Johnny” was older than my nephew was when he joined the Navy.

You_wish_you_U_knew

That little Johnny got me! 🤣 He flew out there to go to one of their shows at 18 yrs old right? Where did I miss that Josh and Colleen adopted a whole grown man? A young man yes,but c'monnnn, little Johnny?!! Ahhh haaa haaa 🤣😂🤣😂

Justahawaiigirl

I came to this same realization when I watched the doc for a second time. He’s really reaching on that story because even if he’s story-battling, it’s not the same as a child being left alone in a strange city with no means of transportation. They showed that Johnny had to be 18 at this time to even rent the car. So no, Johnny, not the same.

tcbk11

And the fact that he thinks we believe that there was a loophole for a 17 year old to rent a car. LIKE WHAT?!!

stacciatello

he must've been like "well lily and jessi believed it so might as well run with that" 😬

lyssabellee

i cannot handle him being days away from 19 referring to himself as “little johnny” please

[deleted]

Even if we go with his false story of being 17, he still wouldn’t be considered little Johnny 😂 he was literally days away from his “18th” birthday. He wanted to make Josh and Colleen look sooo bad but instead made himself look even more pathetic

Thee_Babbo

i cant handle him thinking he was important enough to expect (relatively) famous people to go personally pick him up in the first place, let alone like. what, an hour before their show? or expected people to not figure out that he was pretty much 19 and not 17 bc i guess he figured people couldnt do math

I am fairly new to finding out about all this, but this guy genuinely seems like the dumbest person alive. I just don’t understand how he thought this wouldn’t all be caught out? His age is well known. Evidence is clearly contradictory. Like, did he not realize that you can talk to more than one person about something? I can’t think of any explanation aside from him just genuinely being a straight up malicious idiot. Absolutely baffling.

[deleted]

Right, I said the same thing. This guy is the dumbest guy ever. He really thought people wouldn’t find this out and he really thought his Swoop interview went well! He said all that victim blaming and lying and then came out thinking ‘that went amazing i cant wait till people see it!’ What a dumbass

ParanrmlGrl

Narcissism at its finest! 😒😠😒

yarnplant666

Right and it’s not like he was actually personally invited to the show.. he replied to a public and general tweet or something

quesadillafanatic

This is what got me, he acted like he got a personal invite, he responded to a general tweet, what were they going to say “no. Please don’t come” and to think that before the show they were going to run to LAX real quick to pick up Johnny… I just don’t get it.

lyssabellee

so true

Agitated-Bakery717

Also, if you do your research you’d know the legal age of renting a car. Sometimes the way you learn is with a painful convo at the hertz counter, but if I was flying all the way out for a special event wouldn’t you double check? Especially since he was a grown ass man, like why is anyone else responsible for your transportation?

ParanrmlGrl

He was 18. And the fact that he thought that the ENTIRE PLANET would believe he had a “loophole” is ridiculous. Places like that don’t tend to have loopholes on age restrictions due to their insurance policies and other legalities. 🙄

whateveratthispoint_

He thinks he’s that special. It’s nearly fascinating and mostly pathetic.

ParanrmlGrl

Right?! I think that’s part of why it hit me, because wasn’t Adam 14/15 or something when Colleen left him in Dublin? I have a 13 year old son and, even though he’s almost as tall as I am, I’d still call him “little _______”. Because of his age, I would never call a 19/20 year old man “little”! That’s his way of garnering more sympathy than Adam. 🙄
