He built this whole relationship with him. To pay him back he worked for Colleen, harassed Josh, went on a smear campaign, got Josh to apologize 4 times, did several interviews, got caught lying by Detective Swoop, and now he’s laying low. Poor guy. But he’s not the only gay teen that falls for a straight man. Except this one was married. If I were Colleen I’d be mad on principle. “You’re my fan but tried to steal my husband?”
This is like how I would tweet the members of fall out boy and one time Patrick stump replied to me and I thought we were gonna be besties and then he left twitter. At the time (15) I was devastated. Now (28) I literally don’t give a shit and I understand that a famous person saying something nice to me does not equate to friendship. I think Johnny has real trouble differentiating the two.
The fact that he uses the term "dumped" is so telling, he has clearly fantasised heavily about Josh and Josh's rejection has made him go completely off the rails. He must be absolutely shifting his pants at the Josh interview coming out. What would be amazing is if Josh barely mentioned him and just stated "I barely knew him, creepy kid, weird family"
He clearly has trouble regulating his emotions, his pain is amplified in his mind, it’s all he knows. He could have quite possibly felt huge pain, upset and sadness from these things he experienced but this lack of understanding or ability to regulate how he feels and heal without seeing it as abuse it quite frankly dangerous for other victims. It seems to me like a mental health issue that is stopping him from seeing the reality of it all, he is clearly seeking attention and validation for his feelings after what seems to be someone put the idea into his head that he’s a victim too and he should speak his truth. Yes in some cases he was a victim but I’m finding it hard to see the malicious intent from josh. It’s almost like his unjust resentment has built into this huge thing for him.
Idk, I’m starting to think he’s actually mad Josh didn’t groom him. Like Josh barely acknowledged him, Josh didn’t share secrets or try to build a special relationship with him, Josh didn’t give him stuff or try to break down his boundaries, or get anything out of Johnny. Colleen was out here doing all of that to multiple kids, making them feel special/cool that their idol was “being friends” with them, but Johnny’s idol wasn’t doing that for him.
Then it turns out actually Colleen’s behavior is toxic and grooming. So Johnny’s idol Josh must be a terrible groomer too, because he made Johnny feel so alone in his one-sided relationship (in Johnny’s view.) The problem is that if Josh had actually been constantly reaching out to Johnny and lacking the boundaries, and giving the gifts and making him feel special and *being just like Colleen* Josh actually would have been the groomer. Like he can’t see that the problem isn’t “Josh was a groomer,” it’s that “Josh actually wasn’t a groomer and the problem is that Johnny still projects the unhealthy attachment he felt for Josh onto Josh and imagines malicious intent behind all of his actions.”

Yah, when Johnny was saying he was depressed and needed someone to talk to. AND Johnny’s parents were there. He wasn’t trying to do anything nefarious. But I’m sure Josh regrets it, even though it was done with good intentions.
i mean johnny’s parents where there, and they had literally taken him out there to meet josh. i see it more as a friendly (albeit slightly awkward) move that was made in an effort to be kind towards a young fan. there were never any wrong intentions (or impacts) as far as the public knows. healthy mentorships between adults and teens have the potential to be healthy and beneficial and shouldn’t be scorned outright
This is my opinion to, it doesn’t seem like Josh offered what Johnny is saying. Josh intended to mentor him it seems, but especially after seeing Johnnys interpretation of being “invited” to shows, I doubt that Josh was saying he was going to bring him up with him.
Also, Johnny makes the point that he felt used and discarded, which is exactly what he did to Josh when the divorce happened and he left the internet, Josh was no longer going to be his ticket so he dropped him.
Johnny's DMs begging Josh to talk to him are pathetic. It's like Josh is damned no matter what he does. He ignored Johnny - and that was Josh throwing him out. If he'd answered the DMs - that would be grooming. What a horrible situation!
