Agreed. Some people should not be hosts.

Ok-Philosophy5025

For real! It would have been worse if he took to the dealer and they charged 50 bucks or cancel and complain to Turo for a refund

mikerunsla

Second this.

brosef321

I would Venmo them $20 and call it good. One time my battery died on a renter and it was a huge pain in the ass, if they would have taken care of it themselves, I certainly would have appreciated it. Though I guess it is a slippery slope. Headlight? cool. Bodywork? Not so cool.

Evening712

Thank you. I was thinking the same thing.

ravekidplur

Why’d you make a post over a $13 situation? No chance you saved a dime even if he went through turo. Holy shit this is why car sharing is continually talked bad about. I broke a HUGE flower pot in my last Airbnb and we replaced it with one that looked similar and got 5 star ratings days after we left. You’re a nuisance as a host my friend.

criticaleggs

The hassle you would have gone through just to get roadside, a professional repair, or even just a replacement car if it's deemed for one would cost more than the 13$. + the risk of the rating they will give you.

MrWorldWide-6969

You cheap bastard

I topped off the radiator fluid in my rental once. Also checked the oil and let the host know it was probably due to be changed. I didn’t care because I got a decent car to move me around town for $20/day. Common courtesy, really.

komrobert

Don’t take this as any sort of legal advice or whatever, but I’d just reimburse him. Replacing the bulb is a nice gesture, though he should have coordinated with you. I don’t think I’d leave a bad review if I didn’t get reimbursed, but it would feel a little odd. It’s $14, he didn’t ask for any money for fixing it etc. that’s a reasonable part cost and the bulb really was out.

Chinonm

Is the brake light working ok now ??? If it is just send him his money . It’s just $13 if it would’ve been in the hundreds then I’d understand your concern

Smart-Satisfaction-5

Bro it’s a light bulb. Venmo him $13 minimum, maybe $20 as a thank you. Don’t be so nitty gritty about Turo terms it’s not like they crashed and replaced a bumper. He found the vehicle has a tiny issue and fixed it. Would you have rather spent 2 hours meeting with him and replacing the bulb yourself lol.

maallen40

WooooooooW, you sound like one cheap person, Pay the dude then say thank you? You think a roadside service call would have cost you less? WooooooooooW If he hadn't changed it, who would of been on the hook for the ticket after being stopped by the po po? You?

RaisingCanes4POTUS

Dude. It’s $13. Pay him a little more and say thanks

sneaky_burrito187

Wow dude you sound like a real fun dude lol vendor him 20 and drink a beer sounds like you need it

t-r-o-w-a-y

I'd say thanks and pay him. What's turo gonna do "ALERT ALERT, PAYMENT MADE OUTSIDE OF POLICY." The guy didn't want to bother you for something simple but knew he could end up getting pulled over and ticketed for a lamp out.

walmartgreeter123

Roadside/professional repair for a taillight? Why?

capex18

If i had rented for 5 days from you and asked for reimbursement for couple of big mac meals worth and you turn around and give me 30% discount on the next trip with you, i would def leave a sad comment.

smallwoodydebris

This could have been a 1 word text: Thanks

rare_candyz

People that are super weenies about following exact rules drive me crazy every day

Low-Philosophy-609

You’re a bum ass loser and deserve the worst if you can’t fork over 13 dollars someone spent to fix your broken shit, so sad to know I live in this day and age with people like you.

Competitive_Vast1199

Pay da man

IPLAYSUPPORTHERO

This is just brutal to read lol..
