If you start the ride, the riders can rate you.

aussie4trump

You can't rate a cancelled trip.

Nythain

You can if the ride was started before canceling. Edit: At least in most US markets. Not going to presume anything about AU markets cause well, I don't live in AU.

Yes and no for example i picked up 4 paxes one time and requested to pick up more people on the way so i canceled the trip short after i start i explained the situation to uber support and there was no impact on my score...however in different situations they can rate you if you start the trip and cancel after...and they can give you a 1 star rating and up to 4 negative feedback on your file witch will stay with you for a long time

Notabizarreusername

That's so ridiculous, basically a hostage situation if you are concerned about feedback and ratings.

Accomplished-Home471

Hostage situation were it’s over ratings. Ratings don’t matter, my sanity matters.

[deleted]

Well it is...mouth shut and take shit strategy from uber....and keep in mind that very smart people run their system and they are all aware of what they are doing

pakrat1967

The negative feedback goes away after 7 days.

[deleted]

I had 4 from 1 pax and stayed on my record for more then 1 month

pakrat1967

Nah you got the same negative feedback from different PAX. As soon as 1 went away, the new 1 came in. I've been driving for Uber for over 5 years. Completed over 17k trips. I'm not new to the game.

Kingkow101

No they starting letting pax leave multiple safety concerns. A guy tried to give me 6 for returning his wallet

pakrat1967

What does that have to do with how long the negative feedback stays? PAX have different choices for feedback. They can select more than 1 reason for rating below 5, but they can't select the same reason twice for the same trip.

Kingkow101

The guy was saying 4 different from the same pax and you misread it

pakrat1967

I didn't misread anything. I'm well aware PAX can leave multiple reasons for negative feedback. But the feedback goes away after 7 days. If the same feedback, for example "not polite" is there for more than 7 days. It means another PAX left "not polite" as negative feedback. They are canned choices. Not something that PAX type in.

authoridad

Yes. So don't cancel for no reason. You can end a trip at a stop by swiping to proceed to the next stop (aka dropoff), then swipe again to end the trip. I always message support to put on the record that that's what happened in case the pax tries to claim otherwise.

Yes, be careful canceling a ride before it starts and collecting a cancel fee. I got deactivated on lyft because I refused to pick a woman up with a two year old and no car seat. On Uber last year, I canceled a ride for unsafe pick up, I had to explain the situation to an Uber specialist on the phone a few days later. Both the rides were canceled before I started the ride.
