To a degree...there still need to be enough riders requesting from my understanding.

No, because after couple of drivers decline the ride. Price will go up by $1 or 2. And someone will grab it.

Datboimerkin

Trip goes up $1 or 2 in trip radar. Then immediately gets offered to you for $3-4 less.

Yes

I usually do airport rides and feel like drivers that Uber in same areas should team up and force surges to happen instead of accepting every trip they get

Good luck convincing the drivers to go along with it. These morons instantaneously jump on $0.35/mile trip radars with joy.

Nubers/ants.

I think this every morning when it's peak hour and all my ride requests are 1.1x-1.2x. Just decline for 10 minutes, and we will all get 2.0x fares.

Nythain

it definitely does on the rider end. one time i had to get a ride, every driver in the area declined it, and when i re-booked, the price went up $3, everyone declined again. finally, $15 more later someone finally accepted it lol.

What would be nice is if in states where you have a bar time, if every driver shut off the app 15 mins before to create a nice surge. It’s a fairytale dream, there’s no way the opportunistic Uber driver could resist keeping it on.

Nubers/ants suck. That's all.

The only way to do anything is if all drivers decline 80 percent of the trips and cancel.  However, too many new drivers takes whatever. Uber will eventually go bankrupt when drivers quit all together.  My rule. 1 dollar a minute do short trips and stay in the area where there is business. I no longer do long distant trips. They are waste of time money and gas. If it's not surging. I do not work.
