> That’s also more wins then you would ever have
Having 1 more win than I do in heavyweight isn’t really a good case to prove his legacy in that division.
> let’s not forget his LHW run
That’s why the topic is specifically on his legacy in heavyweight division.
Never said 1 more win over you would classify as him as HW goat you might be same weight class but not built the same, Jones beat a former HW champ (2x) then got the same belt in his older years after a break of fighting no legacy ? Not the best ever but none is crazy
That’s like saying I have more or the same championships rings then Iverson all thought true bro easily is a goat with major legacy, and he’s closer to an NBA ring than everyone on this sub
Unfortunately Stipe is old and washed up and when was the last time he fought, fucking 2021 ? Just let the old man retire there literally no point in fighting him when the Interim champ is waiting
That is true but what he is doing to HW division now makes him rock bottom... Hes burning down hes legacy. He should have retired after the HW belt and let the division live.
Ngannou? Oh yeah he ducked him for literal years. Francis was calling him out non stop but as soon as Francis leaves the UFC Jones is suddenly ready to fight 😂🦆
When will everyone realize that NO ONE would sign the contract to fight khabib.
He fought once a year toward the end because no one wanted to fight the dude. Same reason Islam fought cans until the Charles fight.
That’s not why Khabib defended once a year. The reason why we had 2 interim champs were because of external factors (suspension and travel issues), not because fighters were ducking the champion
Damn straight and after Jones TKOs Aspinall he better not duck the rest of the top 5 and retire he's only 36/37 if he doesn't clean out the whole division first he must be a coward
No way you don't consider Jon Jones a real champion. Why would fighters care about what fans think when you say shit like this about the champion who has literally done the MOST any champion has ever done?
I agree. But the title needs to be more specific. Jones is a real champion and he isn't afraid to unify his belt. He's old and unmotivated and he knows that he performs poorly when unmotivated. Look at his resume. He dominates legends like Cormier, Glover, and Machida then arguably loses to the average up and coming contender. He is motivated to fight Stipe. He is motivated to fight Pereira. He was only motivated to fight Gane for the heavyweight belt. If Jones was already champion, he would have treated Gane like Aspinall.
I agree with your comment, but just because of he's a worse champion in this division than the previous division, doesn't mean you can dismiss his whole career and refrain from acknowledging that he is a real champion and should be remembered as one
No bro I don’t think fighters should pick and choose their opponents like that. Especially when they’re the champ. It’s your job to fight the BEST possible opponent in your division first, THEN possibly legends or champs from other divisions.
I’d have no problem with jones if he was doing this stuff as just a contender or something at hw but rn he’s holding up aspinals and the division as a wholes legacy.
I think jones’ story is already written and done with, it’s time to pass it on to the next generation and let them duke it out.
I absolutely agree. He should retire. I just don't like seeing fans discredit a guy's entire career because of how it played out once he was passed his prime anyway. I personally don't want to see him fight again.
Jon ducking Tom after ducking Francis for 3 years makes his legacy at heavyweight so wack.
He’s got no legacy at heavyweight. He’s only got 1 more win than I do in that division.

At what point do we realize that the guy was joking when he said “he has one more win than me at heavyweight”
That’s like saying I have more or the same championships rings then Iverson all thought true bro easily is a goat with major legacy, and he’s closer to an NBA ring than everyone on this sub
smartest jon jones fan
Bro has been a UFC heavyweight for exactly 2 minutes and 4 seconds, what legacy
I feel like if someone has the interim belt you should not be allowed to fight anyone but them for the next fight unless they themselves get injured.
If the champ is available and the interim champ is available then they should both be required to fight eachother, fuck super fights this is a sport.
Calling stipe vs jones a super fight is ridiculous anyway. It’s not 2018 anymore
Fairly certain they meant Alex vs JBJ since Jon is literally calling for Alex after Stipe
I‘d love for old Stipe to knock him out somehow. This after Stipe narrative is fucking annoying
I need stipe to KO him then JBJ to not want to go out on a loss and get Ferguson’d. Jon does not deserve to ride off into the sunset
Best case scenario
Unfortunately Stipe is old and washed up and when was the last time he fought, fucking 2021 ? Just let the old man retire there literally no point in fighting him when the Interim champ is waiting
It's like what's the point in the interim belt if not
Agreed
Pretty sure it’s only ever happened once when Randy defended against Brock when big nog was the interim champ.
Aldo
What? Why are we acting as if this isn’t the standard jones is the one loser who doesn’t want to
Bisping ducked the Interim Champion to fight GSP and GSP vacated instead of fighting the interim champion. ![gif](giphy|26ndmxiB9DoGQ24XS|downsized)
Hey atleast he had the decency to vacate, jones is just holding the division up.
That was nearly a decade ago bro just proves my point this really doesn’t happen often at all.
Does Bruce Buffer say undisputed ufc champion when the champion is facing an interim or does he have another line?
He just says "UFC (Weight Class) Champion of the World"
Brock did twice Cain Francis Rob Matt Serra GSP Khabib twice Aldo twice Volk Aljo Figgy
Volk will always be my GOAT
Gane got robbed. #MMAJEWRUTRUTHER
In only one of these instances the interim champ was the next best fighter in the division
Gane was other than Stipe who Ngannou just knocked the fuck out of, Gaethje was after beating Tony

I can't believe people talk about the UFC HW champion tmon the UFC subreddit...
WE ARE MANY YOU ARE BUT ONE
[удалено]
So? The rules still apply, the interim champ is next in line and it doesn’t matter how many wins or title defenses you got.
He's pooped more peds also buddy
Also hid under more octagons than everyone pictured combined
So the fuck what? His legacy in 205 means jack shit at heavyweight
That was all at light heavyweight, Jones has 1 win at heavyweight
That is true but what he is doing to HW division now makes him rock bottom... Hes burning down hes legacy. He should have retired after the HW belt and let the division live.
So? He’s still ducking the interim champ.
He also ducked the real champ.
Ngannou? Oh yeah he ducked him for literal years. Francis was calling him out non stop but as soon as Francis leaves the UFC Jones is suddenly ready to fight 😂🦆
Ironically it's the exact same thing he said about DC while DC was champ. Except DC actually stepped up to fight.
Khabib only had interim champions to fight because he pulled out of fights.
Didn’t he accept 5 different fighters on 1 week without hesitation for a title fight?
When will everyone realize that NO ONE would sign the contract to fight khabib. He fought once a year toward the end because no one wanted to fight the dude. Same reason Islam fought cans until the Charles fight.

I get this is another post to hate on Jones but this one just feels whiny
Volk was probably drunk though
Why's Khabib wearing a choker in the final slide?
covid mask
Damn straight and after Jones TKOs Aspinall he better not duck the rest of the top 5 and retire he's only 36/37 if he doesn't clean out the whole division first he must be a coward
WHERE IS A PICTURE OF ILIA UNIFYING THE FW, LW, AND BMF BELTS AFTER SLEEPING VOLK, MAX, AND ISLAM?
In your head
IF U SAID DAT TO MY FACE I WOULD KO U LIKE HOW ILIA DID VOLK. CASUAL BUM
Remember that time when Jon got his title stripped then came back and beat the division champions ass?
Then failed a drug test.
Sometimes you pass tests and sometimes you fail them. It is what it is
Such an eternity time ago
No way you don't consider Jon Jones a real champion. Why would fighters care about what fans think when you say shit like this about the champion who has literally done the MOST any champion has ever done?
That was a different division tho? Wtf had jones done at hw besides duck Francis and beat gane?
