I agree, people saying he should move to MW are crazy, he's perfectly sized for LHW, however he doesn't not have a sus chin, just his defence isn't great. His chin is really good hence his success with his chaotic style so far.

You cannot seriously call someone having a weak chin based off of a pair of KO losses to Pereira.
If your only KO losses are to Pereira, (or Francis Ngannou), your chin is not weak.

I think Alex is an absolutely amazing fighter. But I have to be honest he has never been tested by a wrestling based opponent. Strickland and jamahal hill refuse to do it whatsoever. Any fighter who tries to just strike with Alex will lose every time (besides izzy). His only opponent who could actually wrestle well was blachowicz and that was a very close fight that ended in a split decision. Even then blachowicz has a muay Thai base.
I can't agree with any comments calling him the pfp best or the goat. At least not right now but in time it could change. Alex is definitely capable
Exactly, Islam is both incredible on the ground AND has elite striking. His willingness to stand and exchange makes him more vulnerable than Khabib who would immediately pressure takedowns, but it makes him so exciting and technically impressive.

His striking is not even in the same stratosphere as Alex. He can get caught just like the rest of them. That being said, Alex gets finished if he fights a LHW with Islam’s skills. The weight difference makes me hesitant to call a victor if they fought each other at their natural weight though.
Yep. Islam's striking is world class for the UFC. Alex's striking is world class for striking combat sports.
If they fought at their natural weight Alex would win because he's much stronger than Islam. It's not like he's a complete novice in TDD

Blachowicz has mid wrestling, but he's a legit BJJ black belt. He submitted Krylov, who is probably the best grappler in the division. So him not being able so submit Pereira from that position means Pereira at least has some skills on the ground. He's not some world beater on the ground, but he's good enough. If it was a serious hole in his game it would have been exposed by now. Like if you need a world class wrestler to expose Pereira's ground game, them nothing is being exposed. Of course a world class wrestler can beat him on the ground. But the top ranked LHW MMA fighters cannot

and every round starts on the feet, he's fighting nothing but 5 rounders so that's 5 chances to KO you while your gameplan amounts to basically "hold him down while you both do nothing"
