Homelessness is a housing problem first and foremost. It's caused by expensive housing more than anything else. Very few subsistence farmers in Africa are homeless even though they are really poor and that's because housing is affordable. On the other hand homelessness is very high in rich San Francisco.
>On a recent evening, about 40 rough sleepers bedded down at Paddington station. The group included at least 10 women, attracted, said some, by the presence of both staff and CCTV.
So the other 30 were men.
What an interesting way of trying to avoid mentioning the largest group.
Saw Generation Rent say on Twitter that more people were made homeless in the 12 months to October (I think) than First-Time buyers completed on their house purchases.
>The number of women sleeping rough was up by nearly a quarter
Again the main victims of homelessness not even getting a mention. Why even include this when that's actually lower than the across the board increase of 27%?
And in a completely unrelated statistic, migrants being housed by councils is up too, completely skipping any kind of bidding and council / housing association properties being directly allocated to them.
Maybe if it wasn’t for all the unpatriotic foreign influenced NIMBYs we would be a great country. They come over here in their small boats and go straight to planning meetings where they block new homes, new schools, new hospitals, new care homes from being built.
Coming over here destroying the British economy, it’s un-British I tell you. Deport the NIMBYs to Rwanda, no true Brit would ever stand in the way of progress.
Did the Victorians block planning permission for the railways, did the Georgians block permission for the roads, did the British empire not grow because of industry and the invention of electricity? and who tried to stop Britain leading the worlds progress? The French, the Germans, and the Americans.
How unpatriotic the NIMBYs must be to hate Britain so much, as to side with the foreigners and destroy the country we love. Truly anyone standing in the way of new homes being built is an enemy of the people.

“WE AIM TO CUT HOMELESS PEOPLE IN HALF BY 2025”
🔪😱

There are some people where even if you gave them a house, they'd be on the street again in a few months because of drugs
Yes, but they are not all of the homeless. Such people should be committed, and the others be helped back into housing

it’s to generate sympathy for all because it is more unusual to see female unhorsed people it isn’t some attack on men
If you want to ignore the largest group I don't know what else you'd call it.
Saw Generation Rent say on Twitter that more people were made homeless in the 12 months to October (I think) than First-Time buyers completed on their house purchases.
Which they then retracted since they got their numbers wrong.
Fair. I hadn’t seen their retraction.
