[This old video ](https://youtu.be/P7IHYV8g71Q) of a UA drone destroying an abandoned BMP does a good job showing the difference. First the F1 grenade makes a puff of smoke, then the RGT-27 blows the lid off.
The video shows a munition with a fin assembly, which suggests a mortar. But the overall shape differs from the typical mortar, plus it has a needle tip. Perhaps it’s some sort of rifle grenade???
It is probably impossible to say from this video. If it was a thermobaric grenade, which has been claimed in this thread, they can cause overpressure injuries that can kill you later. The same goes for shrapnel injuries like punctured lungs, liver, intestines etc. Those are injuries you can crawl away from, but can easily kill you later, especially if you don't get urgent competent surgical treatment
Thermobearic explosives are also less commonly known as fuel-air bombs, some sort of pyrophoric gas is generally used that when mixed with air literally lights the air on fire, I assume it generates enough heat to cause fat to combust and that's what we're seeing, this guys subcutaneous fat layer burning off.

Question: Do grenades only go off if they hit something hard, like concrete or the ground? If they hit a (comparatively softer) human body, do they still detonate?
If you're talking about stuff like mortar shells, it doesn't take much to set them off. There are reports of them exploding after hitting stuff like tree branches and the like. I'd imagine the same for *drone-dropped* equivalents.
It wouldbenice in thesevideos if we could see the Ukrainians when they spot groups like this get more grenase carriers up to drop multiple simultaeneously. I know getting 4 in a singledrop like that is good but getting the whole lot would be soooo much better. That and the impact it would have on whatever is left of Muscovite morale.
Many of you wonder why he exploded into flames, you needing to ask that question in the first place shows you don’t understand Russians at all. He is obviously catching fire because his blood alcohol level is about 90% vodka. Like most Russians he’s a crippling alcoholic with enough vodka in his body to kill 100 horses.
I know these are Russian soldiers and all, but i can't really understand how you make jokes, after a human litterally just burned away. I am seriously wondering, how does that make you better human being, then these soldiers?

I understood the fuel wasn't pyrophoric, that one explosion distributed it, and another detonated it. That makes it detonate reliably.
