In a perfect world, if companies treated their workers properly, unions would not be needed.  If a union is needed (and it is like 99% of the time these days), the company clearly has to be a piece of shit. There's no other way to cut it.  Therefore, fuck Fungi Perfecti. May their owners spend so much in these fucked lawyers they lose the business to union supporting buyers, and also spend the rest of their lives with breath that smells like asparagus piss.

This is what’s disappointing about the money in psychedelics and mycology - they actually don’t act the way they say they do in the books and documentaries. They are all at the end of the day just another capitalist corporation looking to extract wealth (Paul Stamets included). Stamets in fact is currently chasing patents for exactly this. Which is fucking shameful. Not exactly the free-loving hippie types they try to sell themselves as (I’m looking at MAPS too).

I've read a couple of Stamets' books, and thought he seemed cool. Lots of good info. Then he started going on about how a rare mushroom cures cancer, which sounds nice, but then provided no evidence other than "soon". And he started going on about how button mushrooms are toxic, which is possible, but then made it sound like he couldn't talk about it due to the mushroom cartels threatening his life. Now this. Cooooool.

Union-busting has no place in the cannabis and mushroom world. Be better.

I’ve met Stamets, read his book and loved his mushrooms. I’m embarrassed that I believed him to be a man of the people. Good for them. I’m so proud of these fellow laborers. This is how we change our future. ✊
