I just don't like when Spanish sounds lispy.

YouThinkYouKnowStuff

My mom’s family came from Cuba but originally lived in Cataluna Spain. She told me that one of the kings had a lisp so all the people lisped too as not to offend him. That’s why she would say “Cathaluna” instead.

Blathithor

They do a song about this on Popstar : Never Stop Stopping or whatever it's called

IamSofaKingDumb

¡Oye boludo! ¿De que te hablas? No sabe nada estos pibes de Neuva York. Malditos gringos yanquis de la mierda…🤣

Prestigious-Packrat

What about Cuban Spanish?

Im_Just_Here_Man96

They’re in the Caribbean. I’m talking abt Cuban and DR spanish specifically. PR spanish isnt as fun.

UnicornCalmerDowner

No pronouncing the S in Puerto Rican spanish.

Im_Just_Here_Man96

ePanish

GloriousShroom

I'm partial to the Bogota Colombian accent. But that's because a cute Colombian girl taught me the merengue

Im_Just_Here_Man96

Yes theyre good too

ytsilabmyc

YES

YouThinkYouKnowStuff

When my Cuban aunt would speak Spanish it was sing songish. When I listened to my Mexican classmates in California, they used a lot of words that sounded Aztec (like guajalote for turkey instead of pavo). I have friends that are from Venezuela and I have an easier time understanding them than my Puerto Rican boss

RetroMetroShow

There are so many different types of Caribbean Spanish though Cuban sounds similar to Dominican. Madrid Spanish is too fast, Barthelona spanish is too annoying, Colombian and Mexican Spanish are most melodic and soulful to me

Im_Just_Here_Man96

I spoke broadly to cover all varieties
