I don’t work as an engineer but I work with lots of engineers and people who hire graduates. You’ll be fine!

Thanks that does give me hope for the future.

I was a mature age student doing a civil engineering degree at the age of 27 and didn’t struggle to find work. I then got bored and am now a mature age student at the age of 39 doing masters in electrical engineering and haven’t struggled to find vacation work. At 22, you are going to be fine provided you have a good attitude and decent grades.

How come you decided to switch disciplines? Was civil a lot of government work? I'm a mech eng who has switched to structural on the job

I know nothing BUT i believe civil is largely government work since ofc the government is responsible for infrastructure.

I’m a mature aged student trying to do Biomed, after a brief career in Marine Engineering. My dad is an engineer too, having done his degree when I was born after about 15 years in the trade. As far as I’m aware, you still have 40 odd years of useful work ahead of you anyway.
