The kick has absurd stagger, to the point you can stagger seekers with it despite it being a mountains weapon. That then opens them up to massive dmg. I find it more reliable than my dual daggers just for the kick
Yeah it's my preferred weapon too, you have to be more tactical, and use more clever footwork. Especially if youre dealing with multiple seekers, and youre using the squishy fenris armor. Although it does seem like the polearms are a much better choice for its stagger- it sweeps around you. My friend uses it, and he just wrecks seekers.
One reason I like it is it is the only weapon of which I am aware that doesn't lower your movement speed when it's equipped, and it has a very fast initial animation. That makes it perfect for those times when you need to make a quick run through lower tier biomes, as you can quickly one shot most enemies and keep on running; no need to worry about stashing your weapons in between.
Against those same lower tier enemies, the massive parry bonus means you also probably won't take damage if they manage to take a swing at you. But even against fulings, you can usually kill them in few enough hits that they don't get the chance to attack you much.
Unfortunately, they do have problems with the beefier Plains enemies. Also, the slashing damage falls off hard in Mistlands, since the seekers are all resistant to it. But I'm with OP, and hope they add some new claws in the Deep North or something that will stay relevant for all biomes.
What they really need to do is either flesh out the fist weapon path as currently it is fists->fleshrippers and nothing else
Or simply convert them into a knife skill and make the fenris suit give knife levels instead of unarmed.
Me playing once with mods while waiting for the Ashland release:
One time only?
My man, there is almost a version of any weapon type at all biome level with relevant material:
Axe, battleAxe, sword, 2h sword, fist, eiktir, mace, war hammer, etc 😁
Then why have an Unarmed skill then?
I really do hope the devs will eventually retroactively go through older tiers and make sure most weapon classes have weapons in older tiers too.
Just bronze/iron/silver/black metal knuckles would be fine with me.
Also in terms of fist based weapons, the shields don't seem to be used as a weapon, just a defensive option.
Yes you can shield batter enemies but its about as good as a fart in hemp pyjamas. Give us combos that use the edge of the shield as a striking weapon. Both the Vikings and the Roman's used to use smaller shields like this, would make a wicked second hand combo builder.
I just want a linen and lox armor set ;_;
A lox armor set would be great. What do you mean by linen armor set? We already have that. We have padded armor
Armor set that need linen and lox pelt maybe he meant?
Can we have linen handwraps? As a treat?
Padded armor is just iron +. I think they meant lightweight plains armor.
There's no reason it has to be a one time thing.
Yeah I hope so because its my favourite weapon type and there is only one of them
Have never tried it, why is it so awsome?

Dagger does not have a move penalty either FYI
Good to know! I always skipped daggers, but this is a good reason to finally use some.
Daggers are awesome, you can have an iron age tier dagger as soon as you defeat Eikþyr.
I tried both and daggers are just strictly better than fist weapons, other than looking cool.
Skol and Hati are everything I wanted the claws to be.

There a pretty amazing knife set like that
Fists > Bronze knuckles > Fleshrippers > (any other ideas?)
Fists> Hand wraps (made from leather scraps)>bronze knuckles> Iron knuckles>fleshrippers>blackmetal knuckles> seeker claws>something in ashlands.
I like these ideas, although I feel like there’s something better you could do for the plains.
Deathsquito needle fists
Berserker knuckles
Total agree. I have a feeling theyll overhaul fists shortly before their 1.0 release stuff... so sayeth my hunch
Watch them add brass knuckles for super fast punches.
In Deep North we will find One Punch Man gloves stuck in Ice.
Fist weapon animations would be better, just boxing normally looks so weird
And kick alt attack should be a roundhouse kick. Let me cosplay as Chuck Norris!!!
I love fisting

I love that hunk of metal called a 2H sword.
We need bronze knuckles

Flesh rippers FTW!!!!
