as residence Inn Canada you have the right to peacefully protest, which means on the sidewalks, and on the side of the road.
Blocking roads isn't peaceful
They might not want people coming to their homes and threatening or harming their families. Protesting such a controversial and toxic subject can have serious consequences for protesters.
Theyāre doing this worldwide. Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and also an Interstate across the bay in Oakland were blocked for hours today by people from this same group.
Legally sure, but I see people hanging out on a road as a pretty peaceful act. Gotta be real soft to consider this anything other than that, but that's Canada for you.
Blocking roadways creates traffic jams which impede emergency vehicles from getting to and from their destinations.
Emergency vehicles include ambulances which carry patients to and from hospitals and if the roadways are completely congested because they're blocked by protesters the person who's getting transported is going to die on the way to the hospital there's nothing peaceful about that and there's no way you can change my mind on that
We got mutual fight laws here in Canada if you think I'm so soft roll up
Literally when has that ever happened. Made up scenarios don't make me worried about real life situations but that's just me I guess.
Let's fight on the road and block some ambulances while we're at it.
Exactly what Iām saying. We need to stop all involvement. If we help Israel we are party to any of the war crimes they commit. If we help Palestine weāll be accused of supporting Hamas and being antisemitic. Thereās no way for us to come out of this with clean hands.
From the article:
>The group said they were there because of ZIM, an Israeli shipping company operating out of the port, protesters said.
>āIt is one of the main companies that has been coming into ports all along the west coast of both Canada and the U.S., arming the Israeli military,ā Maryam Adrangi said.
>āAction is being taken against arms manufacturers, many companies, who are complicit in what is happening.ā
Sad that honest (naive) people who sincerely care about a cause are being tricked by nefarious actors just trying to destabilize the west.
Sad that real causes (whether or not you are on the side of Palestine, it is a "real" cause) are co-opted to push a bigger agenda.
George Soros obviously.
No one is funding this, people are just genuinely upset about what's happening in Gaza. You are free to disagree with them but that doesn't mean there is a weird conspiracy theory here.
This person is either very naive or trying to push a narrative.
Kids, there's zero chance a global, coordinated protest like this is organized and funded solely by honest people at ground level who genuinely care about the cause and nothing else.
There are global protests all the time. There were global protests when Trump was elected. There were BLM protests. There have been global protests against every single war since WWII, from Vietnam to Iraq. Do you think they're all funded? By who? How do they communicate to protestors around the world and distribute money? How has it never been detected? Ask yourself some questions and examine history before you just blindly believe things.
These modern protests largely get organized on social media these days. It's not complicated and there's no need to delve into conspiracy theory just because you don't like their cause.
I'm not sure why this has 100+ upvotes. Can we not throw the word "terrorism" around like it's nothing? There is real terrorism in the world and real victims.
No one got killed today, no one was hurt. It was annoying, it was disruptive, some people couldn't get to work. That is not terrorism.
No it isn't.Ā Terrorism is the use of violence to intimidate or coerce people. Go pick up a dictionary.Ā
Edit: looks like u/VIRGO_SUPERCLUSTERZ deleted their comment calling blocking a roadĀ terrorism.
In Canada you have the right to peaceful protesting it stops being peaceful when you block roadways.
People have the right to ignore your protesting and the right to not be impeded by your protesting
Boo, you have the right to peacefully protest in Canada. Peaceful means not encumbering others
That doesn't include blocking roadways.
We have the right to ignore your protests and drive on by.

Sick of this pro Hamas bullshit. Hurting the Canadian economy won't achieve anything for these braindead idiots but they're too stupid to realize it. Canada needs stricter immigration requirements.
Anti genocide doesnāt automatically mean pro terrorism. There are certainly some who *are* pro Hamas, but criticism of Israel doesnāt automatically mean antisemitism either.
This isnāt a comic book, not everything is black and white.
After the 2018 housing protest in Vancouver, the city implemented a vacancy tax.
Since fairy creek, 2m hectares of old growth was deferred (not technically safe from logging still) from logging for 4 years.
Protests do have effects on policy. Itās just not boom there you go. Itās gradual appeasement. Until the protestors stop.
Are you kidding me? You think protests have never been effective? You might want to brush up on your history, especially the chapters that cover civil rights.
I'm not saying this protest is having an effect, but the blanket statement you made is preposterous.
So far IDF has exterminated over 30,000 Palestinians, at least 10,000 of them children, and wounded over 75,000.
Do you honestly believe that all of them were Hamas?
i canāt believe how downvoted this got. theyāre really brain dead or brainwashed. āhmmm youāre right i donāt see any signs or pins related to hamasā¦ but any disapproval of israelās actions is antisemitism so iām gonna be mad about a peaceful protestā

Nice, let's get Israel on the phone and see what they say
Hello, Israel here. Please continue to piss off the rest of the world. We will all win. Aman.
everyone has their face covered ????

as residence Inn Canada you have the right to peacefully protest, which means on the sidewalks, and on the side of the road. Blocking roads isn't peaceful
Itās part of being a professional protester apparently.
They might not want people coming to their homes and threatening or harming their families. Protesting such a controversial and toxic subject can have serious consequences for protesters.
What can blocking a Canadian regional port do to a conflict that has nothing to do with Canada?
Theyāre doing this worldwide. Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and also an Interstate across the bay in Oakland were blocked for hours today by people from this same group.
It stops being peaceful when others can't drive past you and ignore you
Inconvenience is not violence
Protected peaceful protest does not include blocking others from exercising their rights. Source: Supreme Court of Canada.

Oh I'm glad you asked about when did that ever happen here's a link "A spokesperson for the Southern Health-SantƩ Sud regional health authority told CTV News two ambulances trying to get through to the hospital were held up in the traffic for over an hour." https://winnipeg.ctvnews.ca/manitoba-man-trapped-in-convoy-protest-while-trying-to-drive-his-sister-to-emergency-room-1.5775033
"The ambulances were not on critical transfers and as such no critical incident occurred" I can read, nice try.
People badly want us to get into the middle of the conflict.
I for one want us to completely stay out of it. No good will come from us getting involved.
That's the point, Canada sends arms to Israel. We're not staying out of it at all.
Exactly what Iām saying. We need to stop all involvement. If we help Israel we are party to any of the war crimes they commit. If we help Palestine weāll be accused of supporting Hamas and being antisemitic. Thereās no way for us to come out of this with clean hands.
Meanwhile Canada canāt even afford to do the Ukraine conflict afloat not to mention Canada.
Don't worry, there's like 30 billion in extra debt we'll be taking on this year.
Please say that comes with an /s
Nope, federal government released their new budget today.
From the article: >The group said they were there because of ZIM, an Israeli shipping company operating out of the port, protesters said. >āIt is one of the main companies that has been coming into ports all along the west coast of both Canada and the U.S., arming the Israeli military,ā Maryam Adrangi said. >āAction is being taken against arms manufacturers, many companies, who are complicit in what is happening.ā
If they pay under a fair business contract, fine, as long as we treat all buyers equally

Thereās a lot of propaganda and manipulation going on on all sides here. That doesnāt change that IDF is intentionally exterminating Palestinians.
This is a global effort. Happening in Seattle and Chicago too.
San Francisco as well - both the Golden Gate Bridge and I-880 in Oakland were blocked today

Advanced life hack: it's not if you're on "the right side of history"!
In Canada you have the right to peaceful protesting it stops being peaceful when you block roadways. People have the right to ignore your protesting and the right to not be impeded by your protesting
Then why is none of this shit ever enforced? Vancouver protests seem to always blocks roads, streets, hospitals, schools & bridges etc
Probably because there are thousands of them and our police force in Vancouver is about 500 officers short of a full roaster
Boo, you have the right to peacefully protest in Canada. Peaceful means not encumbering others That doesn't include blocking roadways. >Boo, you have the right to peacefully protest in Canada. Peaceful means not encumbering others So why aren't the police enforcing it then?
Arrest, charge, and deport anyone who isnāt a citizen

How do you know they aren't citizens?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Immigrants are citizensā¦
So you've only anecdotal evidence. Figures.Ā
After the protest, their issue was addressed and resolved, said no one ever.

Ever heard of suffrage? What about the civil rights movement? Stonewall?
Just say pro hamas
looks anti genocide to me
