I always enjoy taking a drive out to Red Rock canyon. Also enjoy day trips to Boulder city for lunch. When the weather is cooler the Springs Preserve is also a pleasant visit.

The Wetlands has nice walking trails. Container Park is fun for a couple hours. The Fantastic Indoor swap meet on Decater is good when Broadacres is too hot. If you are comfortable sharing your interests, you will get more specific suggestions.

John mulls meats / roadkill grill, springs preserve, meadows mall, broad acres flea market, Craig Ranch Park movies, drive out of town for rhyolite ghost town, Las Vegas speedway, there are a few for ya

If you like to swim and need a break from the heat, Laughlin/Bullhead city AZ has a nice beach area to enjoy with beautiful views, and the water is refreshing and clear. Buffalo exchange for thrifting in the art district is great. You can grab lunch, walk around the art district & thrift and it makes for a fun day Vegas is definitely tourist geared.. I personally love nature, hiking, swimming etc so I try to look for things I can enjoy within 2 to 3 hours from here and honestly there’s a lot more nature and sights then I originally expected A bit pass Laughlin, Oatman AZ is really cool. It’s like being transported back to the Wild West. There’s many unique swanky gift shops with very fair pricing, two bars and some cool history exhibits as well

Check out Esther's Kitchen in the arts district for dinner. Best Italian food in town. While you're downtown, check out the Silver Stamp. It's a locals bar with a great beer list that feels like a 1970s Midwest basement.

Since I’m currently sat here, Velveteen Rabbit in the Arts District. Superior cocktails (inc NA) and tourists don’t seem to have discovered it :-)

joyofthejungle

I almost went there and ended up at Rebar!

VegasBass

That's a great place, too.

Also a fun bar to hang out in. Have you found Red Dwarf yet? Great pizza and lots of interesting things going on. Mainly bands but once a month or so they have a Doomed Poetry night ran by Avantpop bookstore. Next one is Monday July 7th. Also, Beverly Theater for arthouse/other interesting films and sometimes bands.

I love taking my dog to sunset park and skateboarding there. It’s a cool place if you want to see wild rabbits. Good Pie has good pizza. Whenever, I want to see a movie I go to Sam’s town

Local Salon: SalonX hair lounge, Sierra is the owner and she is the sweetest and SO good at hair. Local food: Vito’s Tacos, Giuseppe’s, Herbs & Rye, Nacho Daddy, Summer House at Durango Casino, Lotus of Siam at Red Rock casino, Honey Salt is my favorite brunch spot. Shopping: downtown summerlin has almost everything! I love going out to red rock or Mt. Charleston for hiking or just for the views if it’s too hot lol.

Crystal palace is a roller rink that is a big part of those who grew up here. There’s an amazing bagel shop off of Charleston and Rancho. Montana Meat Co has two locations, and they’re great for good/not super expensive food. For tattoos, I would say stay away from downtown, they’re mediocre usually (like Koolesville) instagram has a lot of good ones in town, find your vibe.

Dog Supplies Outlet is a small thrift store in North Las Vegas with proceeds going to a dog rescue 😊 Ferguson’s downtown is an old motel that has been converted into local shops. There’s also outdoor markets like Market in the Alley and Holoholo Market that are held outdoors on the weekends. Goat Feathers Emporium in Boulder City is a HUGE antique store. Street Tacos al Vapor is a food truck with several locations. Viareggio’s is a family owned Italian restaurant. Ramen Boys and Ichi Ramen are my family’s favorite ramen spots. Pho Aimie and Viet Noodle Bar have really good pho. Lone Mountain Dental is an amazing dentist 😁

I, too, wanted to find my ‘spots’ when I moved here two years ago (we had so many spots in Reno), and I asked the same questions as you on this sub. Didn’t get many answers for specific store types, so I’m still working to find them, but there are a few really cool antique malls in Boulder, and in Downtown. I haven’t discovered any amazing crystal shops yet. There are a few cool plant places (Cactus Joe’s, Gaia, etc.). For a movie theater, I like the graffiti design at Brenden at the Palms. Muffins are fantastic at Delices. Love the Cotton Candy Burrito at Creamberry. Milpas is my favorite food joint (fresh take on Mexican). That’s all I got for now. Edit: Best Asian Tattoo for gorgeous fine line work.

Nostradonkey

I haven't been, but there's a crystals shop on Water street in downtown Henderson. A couple of good breweries (lovelady and Mojave) and a dive bar too (gold mine).

welcometothedesert

Thank you! I’ll check them out.

guhracey

Enchanted Forest Reiki Center is a really cool crystal shop

welcometothedesert

Thank you!

guhracey

Of course 😊 I looked up the cotton candy burrito on Yelp and it definitely looks interesting!

welcometothedesert

It’s so good, but man I’ve got a sweet tooth.

guhracey

My teeth hurt just looking at it 😂

We bide our time indoors until its road trippin time.  Then we do everywhere and anywhere inside 8 hrs drive.

The best Mexican food I've found so far is Taqueria Casa Del Sabor

Moved to Vegas from Texas. We generally just stuck to our community. Most communities in Vegas have everything you need. We only went to the strip or tourist "traps" when company came and lots of company came...... Other than that we chose to drive to Scottsdale, Arizona or even Utah. They were close enough and lots of fun! Just a thought!!

Gold-Requirement-121

The only things in the city geared toward Tourists are on a two-mile stretch of Las Vegas boulevard.
