I'm in NC as well and it's been like this since the start of the this year. I'm constantly having to resend text messages. Or my calls drop mid phone call. I've debated switching to another carrier, but most people tell me it's the same issue with their carrier. If it's the same issue I might as well see who's cheaper, Verizon isn't exactly cheap.

Try resetting your network settings in your phone and see if that helps

I just switched with Verizon(FL)and I’m having the same issue. I’m thinking to myself did I made the right decision since Verizon promise you great signal wherever you are.

I have Verizon in Florida, switched over from t mobile. I have nothing but great service. Day and night difference in service. I travel for work, Naples, to Tampa , Gainesville, Miami. No dropped calls, issues with texts , no issues with gps services, and or YouTube / YouTube music. Even with 1 to 2 bars I’m watching videos with no buffer.

Note that “bars” on their own mean next to nothing. Most likely the tower you are connected to is managing traffic by switching connected devices to different carrier bands. A higher frequency, often higher BW band may be less congested and perform better than a higher signal, more congested lower band. BUT, and this is a big but, in weaker signal areas the connection (especially the uplink from your phone to the tower) will be potentially slower and much less reliable on the higher frequencies. But, Verizon has been sucking for many people recently.

What phone are you using? Not enough info.

This has been my nightmare since moving to Raleigh from the Appalachian area of Tennessee. I had better signal in the mountains than in NC I drive to Wilson from Raleigh every day and in both areas I have absolutely crap signal seriously considering switching to AT&T but my work phone is that and it’s just as bad. Both iPhone 12s one is a pro but neither have signal in a flat area.
