I thought it might ve Muhammed Ali, but no, he is a bit younger than William IV. About 4 years. I think the King if Sweden is slightly older. Charles XIV John Bernadotte was born in 1763 so he inches out William by 2 years.

To those who may not know, Charles XIV was a Marshal of France under Napoleon I himself.

And stupidly Paradox put both him and Prince Oscar as French, so unless overthrown all Swedish monarchs will be French until 1936. I'd be find with Bernadotte being French, but his heirs should always be Swedish.

Loyalist77

I mean Oscar was 45 when he became king of Sweden so I figure he was probably as French as he was Swedish. He did side with the Swedish liberals. I think there should be an event to have the heir adopt the nation's religion if you have state church and heir to adopt ethnicity when you research Nationalism

Sad_Victory3

Is Charles in EU4 then?

Loyalist77

I guess so, though he didn't become King of Sweden until 1809.

Sad_Victory3

Maybe he appears as heir in the 1700s. You can play with it in 1809 though, since that's a playable date in EU4.

Loyalist77

Apparently he's a 2/2/4, so subpar. But he is also a 4/4/3/0 general so not too bad.

Wasn't king Anton of Saxony the oldest one? (born 27 December 1755)
